I have selected the movie of The Hundred Foot Journey (2014) by Lasse Hallström as my review report on the film because this movie features a lot of basic principles of food commodities, food preparation and encompasses with the latest information on technology to develop better understanding of food theory that applied to generate revenue for hospitality industry. She try to bought all the locally ingredient which needed by the Papa’s restaurant to cook dishes for his restaurant but Papa also gave a revenge for Madame Mallory by bought all the pigeon which the restaurant needed to cook for government minister. They also talking nonsense and complaint each other incomplete part to the Mayor. This is show how they jealous of each other because of their restaurant. Although Mallory had facing many challenging situation with Papa family but at the end she realized that she was needed a loving and open heart. On the others hand, Hassan will never give up to cook even though his hand was injured. He try and try again when he heard from Marguerite that Madame Mallory was seeking and wanted to hires a potential chef. At the last, Mallory was helping Hassan to cook an omelette under his supervision. After Mallory tastes the omelette, she wants to invited Hassan to work for her. This proved that young chef Hassan had such a desire to learn all he could to try new things. He did not give up question his ability. Other than that, Marguerite was also talented and had skilled on cooking. She was love of cooking but she became jealous of Hassan because he had been choose by Mallory to be the in charge person in kitchen and cook for it. Through this movie, I can learn many small lessons which included we should have a loving and open heart like Madame Mallory although she was fought to the Papa due to the restaurant. Besides that, never ever give up and try again like Hassan Kadam never give up to cook a delicious food even his hand was injured. Then, we also need to believe ourselves and striving to be true like Marguerite should believe that she can make the delicious food by her skilled. When Marie tries to ask the protagonist to take a walk, this action shows that she is trying to achieve Pauline’s dream by getting her outside of the house. Therefore, she could finally feel the true meaning of freedom. Nevertheless, Pauline’s mother’s response demonstrates that she wants her daughter’s safety more than anything. The mother tries to keep Pauline away from the danger, so the protagonist can at last have a healthier life. However, Agathe’s reply shows that her mother is willing to sacrifice Pauline’s dream to keep her secure. Therefore, the author uses contrasting characters to mention that safety is more valuable. Furthermore, the protagonist starts to describe Tante Marie and reveals that she always has her hair “around her shoulder” (85). Originally the narrator admired her father greatly, mirroring his every move: “I walked proudly, stretching my legs to match his steps. The narrator’s love for her father and admiration for him was described mainly through their experiences together in the kitchen. Food was a way that the father was able to maintain Malaysian culture that he loved so dearly, while also passing some of those traits on to his daughter. It is a major theme of the story. The afternoon cooking show, “Wok with Yan” (329) provided a showed the close relationship father and daughter had because of food. Her father doing tricks with orange peels was yet another example of the power that food had in keeping them so close, in a foreign country. The narrator’s father washed and rinsed the rice thoroughly, dealing with any imperfection to create a pure authentic dish. He used time in the kitchen as a way to teach his daughter about the culture. To understand fully the implicit meaning and cultural challenges the film presents, a general knowledge of the film’s contents must be presented. The protagonist, Tita, suffers from typical Hispanic cultural oppression. The family rule, a common rule in this culture, was that the youngest daughter is to remain unwed for the duration of her mother’s life, and remain home to care for her. Mama Elena offers her daughter, Tita’s older sister Rosaura, to wed a man named Pedro, who is unknowingly in mutual love with Tita. Tita is forced to bake the cake for the wedding, which contains many tears that she cried during the process. Tita’s bitter tears cause all the wedding guests to become ill after consuming the cake, and Tita discovers she can influence others through her cooking. Throughout the film, Tita’s cooking plays an important role in all the events that transpire.
This metaphor showcases how the wife tries to conceal her unloving marriage from the world in hope that it will be resolved, yet she still suffers from the way the man treats her. The small candle on the cake is another metaphor used to portray the loneliness of the wife. This feeling is a common emotion felt by many victims of a detached relationship. The description “...one pink candle burning in the center”, gives the candle a feminine trait which reflects the wife. The cake, which the candle was used for was not well received by the husband and the celebration comes to a halt. Then, the cake is ignored and the candle burns in loneliness. Similar to the cake and the candle, the wife and her efforts have never been appreciated or respected by her husband. Much like the cake, the wife is ignored, and she lives her life in desolation and solitude. Lastly, the setting symbolises the wife’s lack of importance to her husband. Overall Coppolas did an exceptional job in telling the story of Marie Antoinette’s life before the French revolution through its mise-en-scene. The film had amazing setting, costume, lighting and change of figure behavior. Everything from beginning to end was very appealing to the eyes. The film was very entertaining and fun to watch.
The story “Hunger” is a story with a very clear message. The message of this story is that a person at any age, instead of hiding from his problems, must face his or her problems. In “Hunger”, the reader understands how to make a living and support himself or herself. After the father of the boy leaves him, the boy and his mother had to become the householders. Wright, very clearly, describes the situation of the boy’s family situation. The main characters are the mother and her son.

A Genetic Odyssey’ is an interesting movie to watch. There were many thoughts that passed my mind as I watched the movie. First of all, it was interesting to visualize the movie back in the day, assuming how one single man lived in Africa approximately sixty thousand years ago. It is quite amazing to have traced the records so far behind to find that Adam could be the father of homo sapiens after all. The better question arises when there are different sizes, races and shapes to each human being.

Hundred foot journey novel is based on the theme of food, in which author tells his journey from his grandfather’s restaurant(Mumbai) to Paris where he owns his Three Star restaurant after a small stay at London And then Lumiere, a small town in France. Although “the hundred-foot journey “seems very short physically, it took so long to Hassan to achieve it. As Hassan was born talented, hard worker, and artistic, he embarked himself to Paris via London and Lumiere, and became a renowned French chef. It is the Hassan, who wanted to see the world and had the desired to become a French chef not the India chef, who would live in France. Fortunately, the Madame Mallory recognized the Hassan feeling which his father did not familiar with.

The movie suggests that humans are “starving” themselves from the needed nutrients that we need to survive. Common snacks for kids like cereal, cheez-its, fruit snacks, potato chips, granola bars, and other easily prepared foods do not contain the nutrients that our bodies need to grow and stay healthy. What children really need to be eating are fruits and vegetables and there are endless ways that these can be prepared to taste delicious!
The moment I stepped into El Milagro’s first door I saw a beautiful mural of a man, on the wall. The murals purpose was to display a man, who is wearing a white shirt and black jacket, riding a horse. There was also a woman in the mural, glancing at the man, with her finger in her mouth, as if she was admiring him (image shown on the page above on the right). Once inside of the restaurant I saw the bright colors, of the walls, such as the pink and yellow color pattern laid out around the dining facility - the ceiling and wall decorations gave the place a spacious atmosphere, along with the tables were set up in a way stretching from one end to the other end of the restaurant, in a way in which it contributed to the spacious atmosphere given the decorations on both the walls and the ceiling (as can be seen on the bottom left). After being greeted by one of the many staff members who helped me as I prepared to dine on a Mexican cuisines. The food was hot and freshly prepared, all that was left was to be placed onto a plate. Once served on the plate I ate in the back where many people were conversing as well as enjoying their food. Throughout the restaurant all you can smell was the fresh meat being prepared while people were asking each other to pass the sauces. The movie “The Hundred Foot Journey” is a great representation of different cultures interacting as well as the different food habits. The movie is based on an Indian family who moves to Italy and wants to open an Indian restaurant across street from a famous Italian restaurant in the small town. The Kadam family wants to bring the Indian cuisine to a new culture and share some of their values. They have trouble expanding their culinary delights to the public because Marquerite the sous-chef doesn’t want any competition. Throughout the movie, secrets on certain dishes are shared and tricks to improve the certain style of food is greatly appreciated by both restaurant chefs.
