Sambusa
A sambusa is a dish which originates from India and has variations which start from Southeast Asia through the Middle East and ends in South Africa. Indians call it a samosa, the term sambusa originates from the Somali region. This paper will give instructions on how to make sambusa.
The first step needed to make sambusa is the ingredients. The ingredients include spring roll wrappers, ground beef, olive oil, chopped leek, ground cumin, ground cardamom, salt, pepper, finely chopped onions, minced garlic, water, flour, and frying oil. The spring roll wrappers will be crunchy when the sambusa is cooked. Different type of meats to make sambusa can be used, however ground beef is the most commonly used item in sambusa. The water and flour will be used together to create a thin paste to close the spring roll wrappers.
The next step is to cook the ground beef. Use a large skillet, and put it over a stove. Pour the olive oil onto the pan in high heat. Once the olive oil is sizzling, add the onions, leek, and garlic onto the skillet. Keep on stirring until the onions are transparen...

Once you have everything that is needed, you can begin to prepare the dish. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Take the large mixing bowl and pour the sour cream and the can of mushroom soup into it. I use one can of Campbell's mushroom soup. You can use the off-brand mushroom soup to cut costs if you wish. The end result will be about the same. I also prefer to use fat free sour cream to make it lighter. However, any sour cream would work. You will need eight ounces of sour cream. Stir the sour cream and soup together, and they will blend into a sort of cream sauce. If it is too thick, add a few tablespoons of water to thin it. The sauce should slowly drizzle off of the spoon. You also need to prepare the beef. It is totally dependent on your preference as to how much beef you should use. I tend to use about two pounds of lean hamburger. ...
Now first things first. You need to go to the store for a few ingredients, because I’m sure you don’t just keep okra around for the sake of it. What you will need for the seasoning mix is: 1 tablespoon sweet paprika, 1 tablespoon dry mustard, 2 ½ teaspoons dried sweet basil leaves, 2 teaspoons of salt, onion powder and garlic powder each; 1 ¼ teaspoons dried oregano, 1 ½ teaspoons thyme leaves, ¾ teaspoons of black pepper and ½ teaspoons of white pepper and cayenne pepper each. That was the seasoning mix; you still need meat and veggies. That list contains: 1 pound of chicken breast’s, cubed into ½-inch pieces, 1 pound of fresh peeled medium shrimp, 2 cups of chopped green bell peppers, chopped celery and defatted seafood stock each; 3 cups of chopped onions, sliced okra, chopped collard greens, and defatted chicken stock each; 1 cup each of apple juice, 3 bay leaves, 6 cups of chopped mustard greens, and cooked long grain white rice and 6 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, browned. Now take a breath and get to the store to get the seasoning ...
Of African origin are such specialities as gumbo and pralines, West Indian callaloo and duckandoo (a dish of greens and a dessert based on sweet potatoes), the Brazilian condiments dende oil and spicy hot sauces. Jamaica's bammy bread and the pan bread so beloved in the southern United States are both said to have their origin in the flat round cassava breads typical of Africa. Seeds and the plants of sesame, okra, some melons, and certain varieties of greens as well as yams, together with many techniques of bread making, and the use and combination of spices, are also all credited to the ingenuity of the African cook.
Sometimes choices must be made regarding what the family will eat. Inevitably the choices come down to cuts of meat. Meat can be one of the most expensive purchase at the grocery store. Lots of time the only thing a family can afford is hamburger meat. Good old ground beef. This choice doesn't have to mean boring meals though. Hamburger meat is very versatile. It can be used in many ways that can make the family food budget stretch. No more does ground beef need to be boring or plain. Ground beef can easily be transformed into meatballs but not just any meatballs but a tangy, zippy meatball. Take the ordinary, basic meatball recipe and give it a twist add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the meatball mix then bake the meatballs. Here comes the tangy, zippy part. Once the meatballs are cooked through throw them into a crock pot with a jar of chili sauce and a small jar of grape jelly. Yes that says grape jelly. Let them cook for an hour and serve over rice or noodles. It is filling and kids love it. If meatballs are not your thing and you are more of a casserole eating family never fear here is a quick, easy and cheap solution. Brown your ground beef and drain it. Add half of a 16 ounce container of sour cream, a can of cream of mushroom soup, half a package of taco seasoning, and a can of Rotel tomatoes. Mix meat mixture with three cups of cooked noodles, rottini works well, and pour into a casserole dish. Top with one cup of shredded cheddar cheese, bake in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and let cool for fifteen minutes. Meanwhile mix remaining sour cream and taco seasoning in a bowl. Top the casserole with sour cream mixture and then add one cup of Monterey Jack cheese and serve. The last suggestion is meatloaf, now before you start groaning hear me out. Meatloaf can be a

The worst part was obviously cutting the onions and bell peppers, but I made it past that and dropped the freshly chopped veggies into a Ziploc bag with the chicken and fajita seasoning. I added a tablespoon of water to help the seasoning distribute evenly and put the bag in the
Putting the broth back on the heated stove, insert the noodles into the boiling water and let the noodles soak in the chicken and spice flavored water. Again, if overboiling, put the wooden spoon over the pot. Make sure you occasionally stir the pasta to prevent it sticking to the pot below. If you aren’t sure when the noodles are done, stirring the pot to make sure the noodles are softer or by safely grabbing noodles with a utensil to test it. You can always try tossing it on the cabinet and commonly when the pasta stick it means it's done. Afterwards, drain the noodles and put the noodles in a large pan. Now in a microwavable bowl, put the Cream of Mushroom Soup, Rotel, with Velveeta cheese together, mixing it together and microwave it until it is all melted together. While the combination is microwaving, if the chicken is cooled enough, start shredding the chicken and put it into the pan with the pasta. Then mix in the Cream of Mushroom, Rotel, and Velveeta cheese into the pan. Make sure it is evenly spread and the noodles are all soaked in the
For dinner, I made the Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry. I did not have a wok large enough for this dish, so I had to make it in a pot which is probably why it came out more watery than a usual stir fry. In the future, I would probably cook the garlic and onions first before adding the meat and then consider increasing the coconut aminos and ginger a little more to give it more intensity. Of course, this is just more of a personal preference.
