Can you name just one famous southern Cajun recipe? Well I can and it’s my favorite Cajun meal. Its basic name is gumbo, but there are many gumbo recipes so I’ll be specific. My favorite is “New Chicken and Shrimp Gumbo” and it’s delicious. I got the recipe from a great cookbook. It’s called “Chef Paul Prudhomme’s Fork In The Road”. Would you like to learn how to make it? If so keep reading and follow along?
Now first things first. You need to go to the store for a few ingredients, because I’m sure you don’t just keep okra around for the sake of it. What you will need for the seasoning mix is: 1 tablespoon sweet paprika, 1 tablespoon dry mustard, 2 ½ teaspoons dried sweet basil leaves, 2 teaspoons of salt, onion powder and garlic powder each; 1 ¼ teaspoons dried oregano, 1 ½ teaspoons thyme leaves, ¾ teaspoons of black pepper and ½ teaspoons of white pepper and cayenne pepper each. That was the seasoning mix; you still need meat and veggies. That list contains: 1 pound of chicken breast’s, cubed into ½-inch pieces, 1 pound of fresh peeled medium shrimp, 2 cups of chopped green bell peppers, chopped celery and defatted seafood stock each; 3 cups of chopped onions, sliced okra, chopped collard greens, and defatted chicken stock each; 1 cup each of apple juice, 3 bay leaves, 6 cups of chopped mustard greens, and cooked long grain white rice and 6 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, browned. Now take a breath and get to the store to get the seasoning ...
The first thing you will need to do is gather everything that is essential to the task. This should be simple because there are only eight ingredients. You will also need a large mixing bowl, a frying pan, a pot, a knife, a spatula, four or five tablespoons, and a nine by thirteen glass baking dish.

Jonathan Edwards captured his audience’s attention by using descriptive analogies and extensive imagery. These images create a feeling of despair within these followers of God due to an extreme fear of the possibility of hell. He also uses an emotional appeal, allowing his audience to first be overcome by an overwhelming feeling of despair. At the end of this excerpt however, he will fill these Puritans with a sense of hopefulness, provided by the promise of eternal life in return for faithfulness. His persuasive techniques are specific to a certain type of audience or reader, so these methods may not be effective on all who encounter
Others may say that Edwards’ speech was too short, and did not include enough detail to persuade anyone to change their lives. However, through Edwards’ great word choice and descriptive language, he was able to persuade many that the time to repent was right then. Many people today still read this speech and wonder if the choices they are making will save them from being destroyed by “God’s wrath”. Jonathan Edwards frightened many people into repentance, and, although he is gone, his words still haunt the minds of his readers
I tried my best to prepare myself for the challenging courses pharmacy school requires. I studied hard and took advance chemistry classes in high school in order to get into one of the best and most competitive pre-professional college program. After getting admitted, I am more certain that this is the path I should follow. Although a lot of times it can be challenging, I enjoyed the lectures about how different interactions between chemicals and our body can affect our daily lives, and how medicine have advanced along with chemistry and biology. Because of my determination to be admitted into the college of Pharmacy, I challenged myself by volunteering for officer positions in cultural clubs, applying for leadership positions and e...
It is relevant that the meaning of job satisfaction is reviewed. The definition of job satisfaction can be simply the extent to which employees like their work (Agho et al. 1993, p. 1007). Another definition, emphasising the term “job satisfaction” that includes both positive and negative sides, refers to the extent to which employees like or dislike their jobs (Spector, 1997, p. 2). In this case, the term “job satisfaction” includes “job satisfaction” which is defined as pleasurable emotional state as the result of considering the job contributing to one’s job values, and “job dissatisfaction” referring to unpleasurable emotional state due to negative appraisal of the jobs ( Locke, 1969, p. 316). Importantly, according to Spector (1997, p. 2), job satisfaction is related to people’s feeling about both their jobs as a whole and different aspects of their jobs. However, it is noteworthy that operational definitions measuring overall job satisfaction depending on the measurement of different aspects of jobs are inappropriate (Wanous & Lawlers, 1972).
“Change will not disappear nor dissipate. Technology, civilisations and creative thought will maintain their ever accelerating drive onwards” (Paton and McCalman, 2008, 5). The nature of organisational change can be described as smooth incremental change that occurs slowly and systematically, bumpy incremental change that goes through periods of tranquillity followed by accelerated change as a result from environmental factors or internal re-structures and discontinuous change which are rapid shifts in strategy, structure and culture (Senior and Swailes, 2010). When an organisation starts to change this impacts on the individual level and without the correct collaboration, empowerment and communication from the organisation this can breed resistance from staff to adopt a change (Keep and Ash, 2001).
As a second-year pharmacy student at Texas Southern University of College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, I am eager to acquire the knowledge and hands-on experience in the clinical aspect of pharmacy while using my clinical skills to critically assess, make judgments, and recommendation based on clinical guidelines and patient’s medication profile. My career goal as a pharmacist lies in obtaining my pharmacist license and advancing into a clinical pharmacist role in the hospital setting. Through my education as well as real-world rotations experience, I have gained a solid foundation and understanding in general day-to-day pharmacy tasks such as verifying orders, filling prescriptions, maintaining records, and monitoring inventories. Furthermore,
During high school, I recall flipping through the pages of my father’s pharmacology textbooks. I was in awe of the abundance of information, and I began to crave knowledge of pharmaceuticals and their systemic targets. Not but a few years later, I began my experience in the field of pharmacy as a drug packer. As soon as I came of age, I applied for my pharmacy technician license – and was promoted shortly thereafter. While my drug and medical knowledge grew, I longed for the opportunity to work directly patients. This innate desire has led me to where I am today: prepared, committed and possessing an aptitude and intellectual maturity required to excel as a pharmacist. I have learned to promote teamwork and professionalism within a pharmacy, take charge in difficult situations, and complete tasks efficiently yet thoroughly. Pursuing a career as a pharmacist would incorporate my passion for pharmaceuticals and their underlying pharmacokinetics with my commitment to promoting health and well-being within my community.
While I was in daycare, I would sit next to a couple younger kids and I would “read” books to them. I would sit there and look at pictures and at that time I would just make up the words, having no idea what the story is about. The little kids loved it, but I was always curious about what it was really about. Days were getting shorter and I was getting older… Then school started.
As the relationship between customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction becomes increasingly interrelated. There is substantial evidence in terms of the relationship between customer loyalty, profitability and job satisfaction. Like my mother, seeing the positive impact I make on my patients is the invaluable reward I obtain for engaging in this line of work. Furthering my expertise in pharmacy would achieve my immediate goal of becoming a provider of healthcare, using the science as a tool for the improvement of people’s well-being. It is my passion and long-term goal to help guide people on a path to better health; and with my background in pharmacy I firmly believe that I can fulfill that as a
There are many definitions of job satisfaction. According to Locke (1976, p. 1304) job satisfaction is: “a pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the appraisal of one’s job or job experiences”. Hoppock (1935, p.47, as cited in Scott, Swortzel, & Taylor, 2005) defined job satisfaction as “any combination of psychological, physiological, and environmental circumstances that causes a person truthfully to say, ‘I am satisfied with my job’”. Spector’s (1997) states that job satisfaction is measured by an individual’s like or dislike of their job. Despite the fact, that the definitions vary, their common feature is that job satisfaction is a job-related emotional reaction. Some aspects of the job may lead to the employees' sa...
