The summer after I had finished 3rd grade my dad had decided to take our whole family on a fishing trip to Canada. “Ugh great,” I thought. A twelve-hour car ride to a cold fishing lodge for a week just as summer break begins, how boring! Well we packed up our car and started our journey anyway. Between nap breaks I would stare out the window and even catch a glimpse of a moose or two! We got to our lodge and our family had our own little log cabin, complete with a TV, with only 2 local news channels. If that was not bad enough I had to share a bunk bed with my big brother. This was roughing it for me! Well I thought I would make the best of my trip and we had to get up bright and early to go fishing all day the next day so I knew I should get a good night’s sleep and go right to bed. The next morning I was reading to …show more content…
I was ready for my big day ahead. My dad was my fishing partner for the day and we had a Canadian fishing guide to take us around, drive the boat, and show us the good fishing spots. My enthusiasm dwindled much faster than I expected hour after hour, I was not catching any fish, I was getting very frustrated with this “fishing” hobby especially considering everything I felt like I was giving up to be there. My dad and the fishing guide were not having much luck either. Then it happened. I felt something take off with my fishing line on my junior’s Snoopy fishing pole and I held on for dear life! I did not know what was happening, all I heard was everyone yelling, “she’s got one, she’s got one!” I reeled the fish in as hard as I
Since three-forth of the world is composed of bodies of water, it’s natural that a great number of people rely on fishing for their livelyhood or just for their recreation needs. There are numerous of fish species swimming under the lakes, seas, ponds, and rivers. Most anglers consider fishing as the delight in their purpose-driven life, a sport, as they say.
“Just show me the tackle and give me some bait. Then watch me go fishing, the rest can wait.” Fishing is one of my favorite things to do. It is catching a fish for either food or simply for fun. You can do it by yourself to enjoy the peace and quiet or fish with others to pass the time. Many people think fishing is an old man's sport but I think of it differently. It has helped to form my values, most importantly patience.
Two friends go out for lunch to their usual favorite sushi restaurant. They are seated and given their menus, they knew they were going to get their usual but noticed the prices have increased. Prices have gone up, and some replaced with imitation fish meat, since the last time they ate there. What might have caused this? Due the demand of fish, the price for them also increases. It’s a simple supply and demand logic, but not only is it due to the demand for these fish, it can also be due to their rareness. Over-fishing can cause what is rare and which fish species isn’t. Commercial fishing may cause fish species to go extinct, or bring in new types of fish to take the place of the other fish. In tuna we
You're planning a vacation to Hawaii and want to do some fishing while here. If you're planning to hop on a charter sport fishing boat or some other commercial offshore excursion, you don't have anything to worry about except for showing up at the dock on time.

Gone Fishing. It was an exciting day for me, and I didn’t even know what was going to happen. My grandpa came to my house and then he told my brother Luke and I that he was going to take us on a fishing trip to Canada with his friend. We were so excited when he told us I told Grandpa, “This will be the best summer vacation ever!” After he told us we went and got gear like fishing poles, rain suits and food.
It was a bright sunny day and the lake looked like glass, perfect to go water skiing. My dad, brother, and I decided to go get the boat ready for our trip. We had to get the sunscreen, refreshments, and water skis. Once we all got in the boat, we had to untie the ropes that were tied to the boat and the dock and lead the boat out of the dock without it colliding into the dock..
Modern high school systems are troubled and challenged with the prevalence of distraction and technology-induced disobedience. The common problem among the majority of high school students is their overwhelming familiarity with rapid paced technological innovation. This retrofitted environment promotes impatience, disobedience and unfocussed students. I have personally witnessed a severe adaptation in the manner students are perceiving and interacting with teachers and instructors. The students have become predominantly dependent on rapid updates, instant messaging, and unfortunately their cell phones during school hours and activities. This over-dependence on rapid updates and technology has accumulated to an impatient, unintellectual and

A fisherman is defined as any person, who fishes for either a profit or pleasure, but being a fisherman means much more than that (Dictionary). It is a way of life, and it is a practice that takes place in cultures all around the world. Depending on where one is located, fishing is either looked at as a necessity for survival, can be considered a sport, or even viewed as a hobby. In some cultures, it can be considered a great stress reliever after a long, hard day at work. Since fishing is such a broad subject, I would like to narrow my focus on recreational fishing (in a boat) in south Louisiana.
