I Was Made To Read and Write My fondest memories, are those when I would write in my journal. Learning how to read and write, was taught to me and my siblings by my mother, we were very young, but she knew the importance of literacy. I embrace the time we spent together, making sure we could read and write. My mom used to say she felt as if, she was growing up with us, because as we learned she was also learning. My relationship with literacy started with bedtime stories being read by, my mom to me and my brothers when we were young. Mom was very strict when it came to reading and writing. Even though I thought, she was a tough and mean I would not change any of it. I would embrace it. By the time, I became a teenager reading and writing became a habit. I could read for hours, until I was made to focus on other things. I would read everything, especially the Bible, newspapers, love stories, mysteries and comic books. I also like to read Huck Finn and a Christmas Carol. Orams 2 I enjoyed journaling about my life, journaling was a form of writing it would ease my mind to write in my journal about the things that go on from day to day, what happened before, during and after school, I love to write my thoughts and go back and read them on paper. I would think to myself did I write this. As an adult, I do not do the things I used too, like reading and journaling. A couple of years ago I did a sample writing to this paper for a job, it was to write articles in their paper about various subjects, I sent a sample writing about young men sagging their pants. About two weeks went by and I received an email from them telling me they liked the article also asking if I was interested in a job with them. However, during that time my husband was sick, he has since passed away, and I am going to school. Even so, I just could not believe they wanted me to write for
