Having the job of the owner of a no-killing animal shelter is tough work. For one thing, within the job there are many duties that need to be on top of or done every day. When in this job, connections are a must for the health of the animals. Being an owner of a no kill animal shelter requires hard work, people skills, and connections with other pet clinics and hospitals. For starters an important part of this job is having the skills and the duties involved in this job. Skills are important to be able to help out. One of the skills is to have people skills and be able to talk with customers that want to adopt an animal. Another is knowing how to work with animals. Some animals can get spooked easily or might be scared so knowing how to deal with that is important. With this job, duties come into play. Training is not just for aggressive animals, it is also for potty training animals, and obedience training. The main training that will be preformed is for aggressiveness. Dogs are put down the most for being aggressive towards someone or people are not adopting them so they are being put down because the shelter is running out of room. A dog has 72 hours to find a new family from the moment you drop it off at the shelter “Letter from a Shelter Manager.”. The main goal of this shelter is to not have to put down any animal unless it is severely sick and it is not treatable. Connections are also on the same level as training. Connections to animal hospitals or clinics is very important. If something goes wrong and the animal needs to be taken to an animal hospital, then having a connection with one will make it a lot easier.
