Every day I walk around with a crown on my head, even when I am at home or when I go to sleep. Okay calling my hair a crown may be a little exaggerated, but hey that’s what happens when you have an appreciation for your hair. I enjoy styling my hair because hair is an accessory that complements an outfit. From my freshmen year to my junior year in high school, I have had some major changes done to my hair. As part of my transformation between middle school and high school, I wanted to change the style of my hair from being a nuisance on my head to, as I said before, an accessory. I kept this style for the entirety of freshmen year and I liked it because it was stylish but not too crazy. …show more content…
In 2015, a new trend for men’s hair emerged known as the man bun, it involves tying one’s hair into a single bun on top of the vertex area of the head. As with most other trends, I wanted that really badly. The funny thing was my hair at the time was not long enough to put it in a bun so I compromised. The front half of my hair was still combed but the back half of my hair was tied up. It wasn’t even a bun really, looked more like a whale’s spout. I kept the hairstyle for a while until I realized how dumb I actually looked, so I got rid of it. Coming into junior, the most stressful year of high school, I wanted minimal work done to my hair but still want a classy and preppy look. Nothing crazy but still nice looking hair. I ended up going with a messy pompadour look and I loved this hairstyle because it did not require a lot of maintenance work and went very well with my face shape and my clothes. As the senior year was coming closer and summer was about to end, I could not decide if I wanted to change my hairstyle or keep it the

In the recent past year or two, a woman’s natural hair has become a big thing. Before, African American women, to be specific, were so disgusted by their hair. They would do anything in their power to change the “nappy” aspect of their hair to “beautiful”. They would use relaxers very so often and hot combs.
There are many variations of this look but most of them include hairstyles where the sides and back were buzzed short and longer hair was left in the upper section. This hair was sometimes parted, with a middle or side parting) or just brushed back and held in place with product.
The stylist has trimmed the sides short and used the longer top locks in a deep comb over from the messy side parting. This combed over hair has volume with the front strands brushing on his forehead.
The history of the significance and culture related to African-Americans’ hair is a very deep and interesting topic. There are many different hairstyles and troubles from having to live with those different sorts of hairstyles, but which hairstyle would someone choose and why? This book shared the experience of African-American men and women in the 1800's to the current era in extensive detail to help answer that question.
This is one of the best hairstyles for long thick hair. It is incredibly simple and represents a perfect way to keep your hair out of the face preserving all styling points. You should start with gathering the hair into a high ponytail and secure it with some holder. The fishtail must be done by separating the ponytail into two sections, then grabbing small pieces from the outside of each section so that finally they meet in the middle. You proceed in the following way until the whole ponytail is braided. When you are through, secure the bottom with some ponytail holder. To finish the look you may spray your braided fishtail with a light hold finishing spray. If you apply a bit of a shine serum in a braid it will help you to hide any flyaways and, moreover, it will make your braid look shiny and soft. This braid hairstyle for women with long hair is absolutely
Hair is the messiest part of the body and this is mainly because they are loose and can go haywire at times. Therefore, we will have to make sure that we get the best of the treatment and also make sure that we are treating it well. Hair being the most frizzy and unmanageable part of the body women now-a-days often tend cut them too short to avoid any problem whatsoever. As people look around the different cities of our fair country, one might notice that many people nowadays are coloring their hair to cover grey or just for the fun of it. One difference among the younger generation and the older generation is the colors that are chosen for their hair. The younger generation of this day and age seem to prefer wild colors such as Infra Red, Mystic Heather, Deadly Nightshade, Tiger Lily, etc, as self-expression compared to the older generation choosing natural shades to cover the signs of aging. This can be seen in the rising number of young people that are seen around with these types of wild colors. Not all young people choose the wild colors over natural shades because some choose the natural shades as self-expression. Not sticking to the ways of their parents, teens are showing they can be more independent. Many of us do not want to grow up to be like our parents so coloring our hair is one way to be different. In the past our parents were usually prohibited to color their hair unless it was a natural shade suck as black or brown. Today, we are allowed to dye our hair colors such as Infra Red, AfterMidnight Blue, Pillarbox Red or even Electric Lizard Green.

The author describes where her culture came from “From my research, I think that the choice to select West African hair braiders is because many Black women, specifically African-Americans, are impressed with the varied styles, products, and prices for services.” She also explains how there is a bond that comes from learning how to braid hair with family members. So discrimination against one person's hair is discriminating against their whole culture and people in their culture. The crown that they wear shouldn't be discriminated against. The term crown was used in an act to prohibit discrimination against any type of hair, mainly black, since crown is what you call a black person afro they used is in the name so it's called the crown act.
