Cosmetology: Hairstyling Did you know at least two hours every week is the amount of time a woman spends doing her hair? Those hours women spend doing their hair, they could be either helping or damaging their hair. A lot of women do not know the proper treatment for their hair and scalp. Some women can’t have strong substances in their hair, like for example a certain type of shampoo and conditioner that could be either too strong or too weak for their hair, it could damage their scalp and hair. Extending, shaping, cutting, coloring, styling, shampooing are the different ways millions of people around the world do to modify their hair. Step one, comb or brush through the hair to get the tangles out and to gather the hair for the braid. Step two, divide the hair into three sections. Step three, “weave hair into the middle,” (www.realsimple.com) meaning the left section will be crossed over the middle section and the left section will become the middle section. Step four, bring the right section to the middle section and the right section will become the middle section. Step five, repeat steps three and four till the end of the strand of hair. Step six, make sure you secure the braid with a hair band or a rubber band so it wouldn’t come a loose. Once you get those steps, you shouldn’t have any problems with braiding. Twisting is another way you can modify hair. To twist means, “to wound together two or more threads as to produce a single strand.” (www.thefreedictionary.com/twist) Twisting somebodies hair is kind of different from braiding. The only difference is you have to divide the little section you have into two parts instead of three. After you have divided them into two parts, bring the left part over the right part.
