I began this course with absolutely no idea what college I was going to go to, or what I was going to do later in my life. I used to think that the knowledge would just come to me, that I would learn over time what kinds of things I wanted to do for my career, college, and even how I would get a job. However, I now know that by doing this course, I learned a lot of things that will probably change my future in a huge way. Instead of going through life wondering about all of the things that I would do in the future, I now know everything that I want to accomplish and everything that I used to wonder about, and it's all thanks to this course. I believe that I started this course thinking that I might be a photographer, and had no idea what steps …show more content…
This course made me rethink my first occupation, I learned that I might not want to be just a photographer but rather a photojournalist, in which I could make use of my love and talent for photography, but also journalism. However, that’s not all, I also learned that some other occupations that I might be interested in could be things like interior design, videographer, and advertisement. These are now all occupation plans for me and widens my once narrow mind, and opens up a bunch of different options for me if I learn that I actually don’t like …show more content…
Even though “my future” is a pretty large and wide spanning topic, this course covered a lot of the things that I was most worried about. For example, I learned a lot more about the job search process, like that just sending out a resume is not enough, creating connections and contacts that are strong and good are very important. This is because a person who is looking for someone to fill a job space is more likely to trust someone who they know well to give them an applicant rather than a bunch of resumes. Also, when a job opens up the company is going to be flooded with resumes, resumes that they don’t want all look over. Just by learning this job fact my future is sure to be changed positively. Job interviews were also a very important thing that this course whent over. It went over how to make a resume and cover page, what types of word choices to use, and of course gave us a look into what an interview would look like. Overall, by learning all of these small, but widely important facts, this course may have very well changed my future and set me up for a long lasting, and very important

Without doubt besides to know how to write a sentence, it is vital to know the parts of an essay. In this course I had the opportunity to go through different types of essays that helped me to understand how an introduction, thesis, body paragraphs, and conclusion work. Also, how these parts are connected together and make a different function depending of what type of essay I am writing for example, argumentation, narration, process, or any other. Although, I cannot say I became a professional writer after have learned this points, I can say, I became a better one.
Time sure does fly; in the blink of an eye, yet another 7.5-week class has come and gone. Just like life, it is scary to think that in just a few short years I will be graduating college and be in search of a future career. The magnitudes of readings, assignments, PowerPoint lectures, and videos have all contributed to the valuable knowledge I have gained since taking this course. Nothing that was presented or required was seen as invaluable towards my progression of career development. This career development course has allowed me to do some self-exploration, career research, and help me understand what influencing factors were related to the job market. Focus, Capture, Develop, and Take another shot are hard concepts to grasp while growing up and maturing. Throughout every obstacle that I have faced whether personally, academically or socially I have had to remember to apply these qualities to my life daily. As a child the one person a girl naturally gravitates toward to be her protector and supporter is her father. I, on the other hand, did not have that experience with mine. My transition from childhood to adulthood began at the age of seven, when I was placed into an unfamiliar and chaotic situation. I had to learn how to capture the essence of life’s gifts in order to cope and thrive. My mom had decided that we would be moving to Texas from California, for a job opportunity she received
Also, there are several things I have learned about myself during this course. Most I already knew about myself just did not know that there was specified names for my attributes. I have also learned how I can deal with my unique attributes to help me personally and professionally. A person is made up of many attributes, and no two people have exactly the same combinations of attributes. One of mine is always extending help to others even if it conflicts with my schedule.
Achieve that career goal. This class is a great leap for me to help me to reach the goal of

1) What area of course content do you believe will be the most useful in your professional career? Why do you believe this? How do you think you think this will be useful?
As we journey further into this course, and are able to meet a multitude of alumni and working professionals, it makes one begin to consider both the value such an experience allows and how it relates to their future career goals. As someone who had a fairly planned out course of action in terms of career development, I myself find myself, not questioning my plans, but bringing into questions what other options I have. As someone who has a past of being very indecisive, no matter what path I plan to go on, I typically make decisions in which can provide me multiple different options that I could potentially choice. Should I change my mind, or merely get bored and want to do something different.
I understand my styles and behaviors better now. Too bad I didn’t take this course earlier in life. Understanding myself will help me understand other people better I believe. That will be helpful concidering the profession I intend to have.
This course has helped me in many ways, especially time management, health, and money. Instead of having a very relaxing week and then panicking at the end of the week when everything is due, this course has helped me to plan out my studies. Planning them out helps me produce higher quality work and assists me with my stress problem. One thing that has helped a lot is getting short easy assignments or parts of assignments done in short periods of extra time I have. For example, instead of turning on that TV, wait ten minutes and knock out an assignment. Another asset for myself has been setting dates to have assignments done. Although these assignments may not be due on that day, getting them done and out of the way, makes more time for other
Without a doubt, being a highly respected photographer would be my dream career. The type of job that wouldn 't feel like a job because it is one of my favorite hobbies. Growing up I always noticed how much longer I took to take a picture of someone than when they did the same for me. I soon realized that I actually had a passion for getting the right shot that I understood that not every pictures the same and that certain angles made others look better in places. The praise I received for taking a lot of these pictures motivated me. I liked that I hardly ever got told to take these pictures over and I loved that I was always the one chosen to take them time after time. Once I understood that I had this passion for photography I made sure a camera was the first thing on my Christmas list that year. I also knew that there was nothing but room for improvement, so i sought out private lessons which I worked and saved up for.
