In the U.S homelessness has been a big deal and it will continue to be a big problem. It
has showed that it has increased in the thousands margin from the beginning to 2015 and we do
not seem to make it a big deal or care for it to stop. we need to do something about it and have it
end before it gets to be a big problem and it becomes bigger than it already is. we need to come
together as a country or just as human beings and help them out so it ends. America has been
proved that it’s homelessness rate has increased and it will only continue if no one is helped. It
has been proved that Los Angeles has the largest amounts of homelessness in america. That as a
country make us look bad. where exactly would be the people’s freedom if they have

nowhere to go and have no help coming thee way. It is a problem that needs to be reduced of the amount of the hugh numbers. There are plenty solutions that are feasible. In the U.S there are over half a million people that are homeless.
There are over 700
deaths that happen due to the lack of food and water or warmth homeless people experience
because there are not enough homeless shelters. If there is enough, they wouldn’t want to be
there because they are in terrible conditions. for example, it has bed bugs and has many diseases
because there are so many people. it is very overcrowded and they have to wait in line to get a
bed and if they get the bed the next day they have to wait in line again. The people that are more

financially stable need to step up and help out if they want changes to happen. The government
can only help to a certain point it’s on us to unite and help.
There has been fingers pointed at the government that they should be responsible or at
least for them to have programs. The facts are though that is not the best solution to have because
it is not feasible. In thee Adrian Public Schools McCullough has seen the funding from her
program decrease from 62,000 last year to 39,000 this year. That she uses more volunteers and

the alertness if it will be going to good use or just help for the worse. McCullough needed the help of some volunteers because the amount of money that they got decreased 23,000 and that can be for the people that are sure if they should donate their money or not.
I f that is the concern than just
donate your time to the programs that want to help out the less fortunate.
The national law on homelessness and poverty, says about 138,00 children experience
homelessness. That right there is a scary thought because as we get older the children are
supposed to be the future and they're supposed to help us get advanced but with that such high
number not lots of children are getting the education they need. That number can increase
because the families with low income are at very high risk to experience homelessness too. This
is really targeted at everyone, but mostly the children, for example, if the child goes to school
and gets good grades and graduates and gets a good job he can help and support his family but if
Dominguez 3
you're really older and didn’t finish school there’s not lots of options you have. 18 and under
don't have no choice of school, though because they have to be with the parents because they are
underage.
What we need to do as a person is being on the same page. There are some people
that have an argument on homelessness. That they are not responsible for them and it’s their fault for being there. some kids are born into it what we need to do is unite and help them out we could always donate stuff that we don’t need like some old blankets so they stay warm in those cold winter nights or help them out with some food so they don’t starve. If you're more fortunate rent them a hotel for one cold night if one person did that out of 10 the death rate would decrease so much. Also, if you see one with a child ask if they need some school supplies so they can attend school They will thank you in the long run because nowadays you need education to get a job and once they do, they won’t be homeless and the numbers will go down have programs for low income families where they get financial help so they won’t be at high risk of being on the street and have that statistic be gone for good. All I know if we were in the situation we would want help so if we're fortunate right now. Let’s help them out because maybe in the future we might need that help do good karma for good karma later on. There are certain ways that can help out homeless people. For example if they are homeless already and they are at school there are certain procedures the teachers at the school can take. for them to know that they are homeless. There is that most of the time that they never want to admit there homeless. Even though they shouldn’t have that mentality that’s the way Dominguez 4 they have it. It has to do that some are embarrassed and others are ashamed. What needs to be done though is there is hints that a teacher can see that a student does not have a home. in the website Scholastic. com says the teacher should look for students who are sleepy, or wearing the same clothes as the other day or who carry a lot of belongings or who hoard a lot of food says bowman. Homelessness has been a big topic, starting from the 1600’s till 2015. From the harsh conditions there is to how high the death rate is we need to have a petition or protest for saying it shouldn’t exist. The people as of right now we need to acknowledge the problem and have it stop because if we don't no one will and it will continue going on. Let’s avoid it by coming together and ending it. Homelessness In America is a huge problem and most of the time nothing is done about It. My claims for there to be a solution is for the people to unIte and peaceful protest for the government to step in and do something about it. Or they themselves unite and do their best to their financial ability. The best and fastest solution is for the people to help out because if you ask the government for help they will but it will be a very long process. For example, there is a bunch of people that are homeless and even those who have low income have asked for help from the government but they take so long to help. not because they don't want to but it's because so many people need help for example, in (help for the homeless) they have so many programs Dominguez 5 but it's still not enough. thats where we the people need to step in because of the such of a long of a process there has to be in order for some help. There are many school districts that would love to help out the students that are homeless but the schools can’t focus on every single student to find out if they need help or not.Donna Bolt says that the school districts must come together and collaborate in order for the schools to know and coordinate transportation and outreach efforts and partner to share community resources and strategy. Another main concern is that schools should be cautious to students who act out at school because Bolt says they are not bad kids at all they are traumatized kids. The school needs to see if for example a student is wearing a coat everyday and as long it does not violate dress code they should let him keep it on so he or she can feel more secure at the school and feel they are safe there everyday. If they don’t feel secure there is a high chance that they will leave and that will only add up to the number that will need help because of them not attending school Sometimes we don’t even know the real definition of homeless people. We think of homeless people and we think of people on the street with nowhere to go but that is not always the case you can be homeless if you are staying in a hotel or motel. Or sheltered or unsheltered but the one that most people don't know is being doubled up. and that's when your are living with friends and family that counts as being homeless too. In fact that accounted for 71% percent of the students in the 20092010 school year. Dominguez 6 If we don't instead of having just a couple of states that have a high number of homeless people there will be like a competition of which states can rise the fastest of having the most people that can not have there own place to live and higher death rates. For example right now Los Angeles is the largest homeless population which 55% has grown to 12,536 and that alone has said that california has one third of the homeless population.(Los Angeles times) The increase of that outpaced the one in new york city with a ratio 3:1 which is what i meant it’s like a competition of who has the most people in need. Instead of that they should have a friendly competition of who can help the most and reduce the number of deaths per year that's what should be done positive instead of negative. The facts are that there are over half a million people that are homeless and that one quarter of them are children. For me knowing that there are children homeless and they can't do nothing about it. it worries me who are they going to be in life and also aren’t the kids supposed to be the future? This thing just makes America look bad in general. The solution is feasible because even though there are a lot of homeless people there is a lot of people with very good income that would love to help. why would they? well let's ask ourselves if we were in a situation where we couldn't afford water, food or a place to stay would you like help? i'm pretty sure everyone would. so they would help so they were ever in that situation they would get help. The solution is financially, legally because every single person if they need help and go to the government, they have the right to get help. If only the people were to help it would be Dominguez 7 even better and more financially legal because It’s the people’s money they could do whatever they like with their money of course with their priorities taken care of but after that they could help out as much as they want for example with donations or fundraisers and all the money goes to the people in need. it is possible for it being carried out there can be a peaceful protest, but to make sure its enough people so the government can do something about it, but way faster so they can really see that this is a serious problem and it can affect how the rest of the world looks at the unites states of America. My solution will help solve the problem. or if it doesn’t end it. will greatly reduce it. i believe there are a bunch of good people in this world and that they just want to help the less fortunate, but sometimes they don’t know who really is or which organizations are telling the truth and actually donating all the money they are getting. the amount of hunger they go through will be gone and with all the help they are receiving it will help them get back on their feet.in winter its such a rough time for them no way they can get shelter so they can stay warm and if there is a shelter house it is super crowded by all the people there. it’s just a good feeling knowing you decreased the number of deaths in America because someone was homeless and without food or water. The solutions that have been done for this are the homeless shelters, but those only work temporarily because they have to get in line everyday if they want a place to be and the shelters are not in good conditions they are actually in terrible conditions so it’s either get a place to sleep for this cold night and if it targets a certain group or ethnicity it's for everyone. Even though the Dominguez 8 families with low income are at higher risk the people that are financially stable right now can lose everything they have in a blink of an eye if they lose their job or their expenses outweigh the income they are receiving right now. The bottom line for this is there is a lot of mixed emotions with this topic. Some are negative and others are positive. There are many counter arguments and arguments of why you should help. It is very well understood that it is not the responsibility of the people to have to fund the homeless people or any of their programs to help them out. There is arguments though that you don't need to use cash to help some of them out. since low income families are at very high risk of experiencing it some simple advice or words of encouragement to have them feeling positive for them that they will stay in that house. Or just volunteer your time to programs that do want to help out because there are plenty of programs that do want to help out the people in need. So there is many feasible solutions any of the solutions will help and reduce the number of people not having a home just donate some money or some of your time.you do you better watch out for the diseases those shelters have, there are better ways than that (national journey.com) has the other solutions and how they will be more effective in the future. The other solutions have not worked because they haven’t been taken so seriously. There hasn’t been a time where they really aim it as a serious subject that we should all take seriously. Also there is only so much help people can get because it is at a such a large number. MY SOLUTION is the best solution because it is the fastest and easiest way to get it done. There should be no problems with it and it should be greatly reduced and with a couple years, it should be very rare to see someone that is homeless and if you do that they get the help they deserve to get. Just help everyone out if Dominguez 9 you are more fortunate than others, it will make you feel and look good as a human being. Help this problem not be a problem anymore or ever be a problem again. Have it be taken very seriously by everyone because it is not like it’s a non problem
another line, and another wait. This has to be the most unpleasant part of a
C/I Many homeless people opt to stay on the streets rather than in a shelter.
In conclusion, homelessness has impacted our society greatly. It is a severe issue in our society that is not experienced by choice. Homelessness is an unkind experience for individuals who are forced to encounter a lack of adequate and affordable housing, poor shelter conditions, and the issue of economic inequality. The government of Canada needs to step up and start addressing this issue as soon as possible. The only way poverty will stop increasing in Canada is by the support and social assistance from the Canadian government.
Many of the homeless population are not homeless by choice, many have lost the only job in the household, many are military veterans that have not assimilated back to civilian life, and some are homeless due to natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina. It can happen to anyone of us. A hurricane, earthquake or wildfire that is out of control can destroy your home within minutes. We must never say never when it comes to the possibility of being homeless, especially when we consider the impact that natural disasters have. Worldwide natural disasters render middle class people near poverty and the poor, homeless.
It is estimated that, “each year, more than 3 million people experience homelessness, including 1.3 million children” (NLCHP). Clearly poverty and Homelessness come hand in hand, and the economy downfall has only contributed to this growing crisis. “Homelessness stems from a lack of affordable housing. Increasing rents, destruction of traditional low-income housing, and cuts in federal housing programs threaten affordable housing with extinction” (NLCHP). Most people in poverty have a housing affordability crisis, which means that they pay more than half of their income for rent, so therefore they have to buffer to deal with unforeseen expenses.
Homelessness is a problem that happens in many different countries around the world. Definitions of homelessness are defined in different meanings by different people. However, the Stewart B. McKinney Act defines a homeless person as “ one who lacks a fixed permanent nighttime residence or whose nighttime residence is a temporary shelter, welfare hotel, or any public or private place not designed as sleeping accommodations for human beings” (McNamara 1025). It is impossible to find out exactly the number of homeless; however, the researchers can do a study to estimate that number. Based on different statistics from different researchers, the homeless population in America has been increasing as “an alarming rate” (Markos and Lima). Therefore, even though America is one of the most powerful countries in the world, homelessness, which has many common causes, has always been a big problem in society.
Homelessness in the United States has been an important subject that the government needs to turn its attention to. There has been announced in the news that the number of the homeless people in many major cities in the United States has been increasing enormously. According to United States Interagency Council on Homelessness reported that there was an estimation of 83,170 individuals have experienced chronic homelessness on the streets of the United States’ streets and shelters on only a single night of January 2015, which is a small decrease of only 1% from the previous year (People Experiencing Chronic Homelessness, n.d.). The United States must consider this subject that most of the people underestimate it and not pay attention
Family homelessness is a fairly new social problem in America. Beginning in the early 1980’s, families with children have become the fastest growing segment of the homeless population.
Homelessness poses a serious threat in all countries as people are exposed in an unsafe environment and try to live on change. “Do you have any spare change?” No I don’t have spare change, get a job you animal. We see people all over the streets holding signs and bringing their children to ask for change but during that whole time they could be doing something productive, like getting a job. Homelessness is a problem everywhere and its worse in other countries but here in America we have it rough. We have the means to fix homelessness with giving jobs to them in the fields of science and energy.
Some of these people can not help becoming homeless. Some of these people are the illegal immigrants that come here from other places to get a better life, but end up not having enough money to make it in this hard world that we live in. Teenage runaways have different reasons for leaving home, but all have the same reason for becoming homeless. They simply just do not have enough money. Others are drug and alcohol abusers and disabled people.
Many people debate on weather homeless people should receive guidance or just be abandoned. Do homeless people deserve our service and to be supported, or are they just lazy individuals trying to take advantage of people? Homelessness is a growing dispute in cities. It has became an extensive problem for the community. Homelessness can not and should not be ignored. The number of homeless people in the United States is quickly growing. It seems like no one cares to help them. Even our heroes like police officers show no sympathy towards the homeless. “Homeless people appeared on the streets of Bucharest in 1990. Since then, their number and the problems created by this phenomenon have steadily increased in all major
This has been a problem throughout human history. Although it has become less common in modern times.
The most common argument for not battling homelessness is the cost. Some opponents argue that battling homelessness would cost too much resources. They think that homeless people would siphon all funds in the government, but they fail to realize that helping the homeless is an investment. The government will end up saving money in the long run. It costs more to maintain homelessness in the long run. And also the former homeless person would be reinstituted into the community as a worker. “According to a University of Texas two-year survey of homeless individuals, each person cost the taxpayers $14,480 per year, primarily for overnight jail. A typical cost of a prison bed in a state or federal prison is $20,000 per year.” (endhomelessness.com).
Many homeless people do not have access to healthcare and they go many years without seeing a doctor. According to Fitzpatrick, “there is a clear and defined need for healthcare for homeless people and their families.” She is right, it todays society homelessness is just ignored by many people and has became a serious problem. Most of society does not know about the organizations that help the homeless. For example, Fitapatrick believes in a organization called The Opening Doors Project it is a group of nurses and other health professionals that look at substance abuse within the homeless community. Due to not seeing a doctor and the common knowledge of homeless people abusing drugs and alcohol, “homeless people can have complex and multiple health problems” (Who quoted it). Not everyone agrees with Fitzpatrick, “I am convinced that handouts are basically wrongheaded,” says Sherman. She believes giving anything to the homeless will not help change the homeless persons situation (Sherman). Sherman's advice does not make sence, ignoring the problem will not help either and without proper medical care there is no way to improve homeless health which will cause many people to die a unessary death. According to Hopper, “generative forces behind widespread homelessness runs deep and their correction will req...
This great nation of awesome power and abundant resources is losing the battle against homelessness. The casualties can be seen on the street corners of every city in American holding an ?I will work for food? sign. Homeless shelters and rescue missions are at full capacity. There is no room at the inn for the nation?s indigent. Anyone who has studied this issue understands that homelessness is a complex problem. Communities continue to struggle with this socio-economic problem while attempting to understand its causes and implement solutions. The public and private sectors of this country are making a difference in the lives of the homeless by addressing the issues of housing, poverty and education.
