Many years ago, a popular movie, "Top Gun" coined the phrase "I feel the need, the
need for speed." Many drivers today would agree with that phrase. Speeding is
one of the most common ways that people break the law. When people break the law
there are unpleasant consequences. A speeding ticket is an effective form of
discipline: paying for a ticket, traffic school, and higher insurance rates.
Paying for a speeding ticket is an unpleasant experience. A ticket can be
outrageously expensive depending on how fast you were speeding. Some states
charge ten to twenty dollars per mile an hour over the speed limit. The officer
assigns you a day to appear in court, if you choose to fight the ticket rather
than pay the fine. Waiting in the courtroom to see the judge can be very close
to a death sentence. The wait is long, and the company can be frightening. Once
you plead your case, you generally end up paying the fine. This only leads to
another line, and another wait. This has to be the most unpleasant part of a
speeding ticket.
In addition, paying for traffic school is also a disagreeable experience. If you
waited to see the judge, you may be on your way after paying the fine. If the
judge is kind, and offers a traffic school option, the unpleasantness continues.
Usually the traffic school is no where near to the courthouse, which causes you
to search to find the it. The great experience of paying is close at hand after
locating the school. You must endure the nine hour course after paying for the
privilege of attending. This is a class most people would have never taken if
given the chance. The unpleasantness associated with a speeding ticket is almost
finished when you have completed the course.
A reoccurring reminder of a previous mistake is evident in higher insurance
rates. Most insurance companies feel that speeding tickets make someone a higher
risk. So, to offset the risk they raise the premium. Which means it is more
expensive to obtain insurance. If the insurance company decides to raise your
rates by only ten dollars it can have a lasting effect. When the ticket falls
off your driving the record, usually in three to five years, you have spent more
“We will catch you and there will be consequences, criminal consequences, loss of licenses and even a jail term,” Col. Thomas Robbins, Massachusetts State Police warned aggressive drivers at the launch of ‘Road Respect’, a Spring Mobilization program at the Newton Police headquarters on the morning of April 4.
On the above date and time I was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Ridge Road.
However, people start to flip out when they get huge fines or even jail time. Furthermore the amount is so excessive you would have be a millionaire! Not everyone has a spare six hundred seventy five thousand dollars laying around. Unfortunately Joel Tenenbaum is out of options. A Massachusetts district court judge ruled the $675,00 fine levied against him is an appropriate amount and refuses to call for a new trial. For each song he would have to pay, twenty one thousand, seven hundred and seventy four dollars. Not to many people have that much spare money sitting around. If someone was that rich they could pay for the songs themselves. Many will argue that this is an excessive amount. For a more effective deterrent would charging the offender 100 dollars. It makes alot more sence then charging someone thousands of dollars. In reality no one can afford that.

admission of guilt and all information obtained thereafter are thrown out of court. The result?
There are Local Trial courts of limited jurisdiction called municipal courts and Justice of the Peace courts. The municipal courts are usually only involved with class c misdemeanors; they are of fine only, jurisdiction. In this case one might com in contact with a municipal court due to a traffic ticket. “Municipal courts cannot require that a defendant lay out a fine in jail at the rate no less than fifty dollars per day” (Lovett). However, if one is not financially

We can also use traffic court as an example. I was given a ticket for speeding over the limit. I decided to go

I received a speeding ticket on Sunday April 22, 2018 at 1:31 pm while on my way home from Canada where I had spent a few days out of my school vacation week (April 15-21). I was pulled over on the I-90 E Interstate Highway for reportedly driving 85 in a 65-mile zone. I figured I was speeding but was completely unaware of the actual speed I was driving prior to getting pulled over. Prior to Sunday’s offense, I was never issued a speeding ticket and only did so moments after being switched out to drive by a friend who accompanied myself and sister on our vacation trip at the service station a few miles away from where I was pulled over by the state trooper. I am currently a Clinical PsyD. Student at the William James College in Newton MA, and
The textbook, Operations and Supply Chain Management, define queueing as “a line of waiting persons, jobs, things, or the like.” What exactly does that mean and how can it be avoided? Richard C. Larson describes the psychology as well as the social justice behind queueing in his research entitled, Perspectives on Queues: Social Justice an The Psychology of Queueing. Larson and his students created a theory called “slips and skips.” A slip is defined as what happens to the person being victimized by the queueing, and being slipped by from the individual in line behind them. A skip is just the opposite. It can be defined from the perspective of the person actually skipping over the person in line before them that is being slipped. For every slip, there is also a skip.
A fine is another type of sentence imposed by the court system. Fines are determined on case to cases basis depending upon the offense. All fines given must be paid, if not there are consequences regarding nonpayment of fines. One consequence given is imprisonment. I know in the state of Alabama, if you’re not able to pay for your fines, the judge can put you on probation which is like a payment plan, and you’ll have to pay a probation fee along with your fine cost and if you don’t pay they will put a warrant out on you and that’s just for less serious offenses like traffic violations. Fines are imposed to ensure that the victim is paid for damaged done by the offender’s
Traffic control establishes a set of rules and regulations that people rely on to help avoid collisions and other hazards. With almost 160 million motorists and 3.8 million miles of public roads in the United States, traffic control on the highways is an important aspect of daily life. Without the control of speed there would be more fatalities than we already have now. Speed limits should be obeyed. A motorist going too slow could cause an accident. When everyone is traveling at the speed limit, a car comes up going 40 mph; if you break everyone will, too, perhaps causing a collision. Motorists depend on traffic control to avoid collisions and travel safely to their destination.
The primary point of traffic laws is safety, but also keeping order. Following traffic laws is one of the most essential aspects of driving and can increase your safety as well as of the people around you. Knowing the traffic rules in our region and applying them can prevent us from getting involved in an car accident and save us the pain and costs of a traffic ticket due to a violation. If we didn’t have any traffic laws there would be chaos on the roads and many disasters could happen.
