This has been a problem throughout human history. Although it has become less common in modern times.
Political problems interrupt people's lives and leave many people without a home or shelter.
Many places in world natural disasters and other things have made people have to leave their home country and become a refugee.
People who are put in these crisis have had challenges on trying to survive.

Homelessness still was improving after world war 2 which was 1939-1945 but since the 1970s American cities have struggled with increasing numbers of newly homeless people.
