This has been a problem throughout human history. Although it has become less common in modern times.
Political problems interrupt people's lives and leave many people without a home or shelter.
Many places in world natural disasters and other things have made people have to leave their home country and become a refugee.
People who are put in these crisis have had challenges on trying to survive.

Homelessness in the U.S started during the early stage of American colonial settlement.
1929 the great depression was a new wave of homelessness because many people lost their jobs.

The New Deal helped improve the economy, provide jobs for unemployed, and reduce number of homelessness.
Homelessness still was improving after world war 2 which was 1939-1945 but since the 1970s American cities have struggled with increasing numbers of newly homeless people.
