There are many factors of playing a sports while in high school. The benefits are staying in shape and getting a good workout in. The other benefits of sports are there long life lesson and the memories that come with playing a sport. The community is also a big one because whether playing a sport in high school you are still representing the community you live in. There are many benefits of playing a sport. When you play for the community you are not only representing yourself but you are representing the community. The benefits of it are you will compete against other rivalries and other communities you go against. With this in my opinion is a big thing because not only is the rivalries big against a different community, but the level of expectation to compete in a sport. Plus the other benefits of the community are getting them together to watch schools compete in their home town. In my opinion though as a freshmen the expectation is still high, but at the same level you are new to the program and it takes time for you to get uses to the high school level. Though as you grow older the duties change for the level of what your coach expects out of you. This can also bring a lot of work load but in the end will all pay off. Other ways is leadership and captains all play a role in any level of spots. Whether you are the freshman and now maybe the senior bigger roles and duties may be put on you. In my personal opinion in running track and cross country, and being a captain the level of expectation is higher because of younger kids like the freshmen are looking up to you for guidance’s and advice (“High School
