High school is a very nice experience, I am very lucky to live and be part of one of the most powerful and educational driven nations as the United States. In I'm opinion High school, like college is an environment of choice, where a student as myself can choose what he wishes to learn. from French to chemistry, schools offer a lot of unique preparation for the future of their students. I have many rewarding projects and academic courses that will help me achieve my future goals. From the time I participated in “earth day” and helped cleaned a park to being able to enjoy learning something I like, like French.
I have been in almost every level of high school one can be in. I started my freshmen year taking regular classes, I felt like
I was not challenging myself. When one of my teacher recommend me for an honors class I was happy and by the end of that year I found my self with the IB program. I only spend some time in that program because I moved to Arkansas, but that did not stop me one bit. In my new school, Springdale High school they did not have a real MYP program so I worked hard and got recommended for pre AP. After that I was taking AP classes too. When I moved back to Chicago this year I tried my hardest to get back into IB program and I succeeded. Now I am a IB course student with honors and AP classes. I learned that with hard work and determination one can exceed in everything. I believe Harvard can help me become a better leader for my community by allowing me to work and study along side other people that have the same goals and mind sets as I do. Harvard Summer School is the opportunity I have been waiting for, to show my potential learning skills. I am very exited to share my summer and hopefully my future education with Harvard.
High school was not a completely dreadful experience, but I did not get a really an exceptional education. As I entered high school, I thought it would be a whole new exciting chapter in my life. I started out as an involved student, and went through all of the Advance Placement and Honor classes, and managed to be at the top 12% of my class. In high school, I basically placed myself to enjoy it; I joined all of the extra curricular activities I was interested in. I was in band, tennis, swimming, dance team, and Key Club. Sometimes I was at school for about fourteen hours a day, four times a week.
Freshman fifteen is the NEW EPIDEMIC!!.. or not? In the eyes of freshman, college can be seen as entering the lion’s den when transitioning from high school. Students routines, diets, and moods drastically change resulting in an imbalance of one’s well being. As a way to cope college freshman typically look towards food for a release. Therefore, this is where the term freshman fifteen was born. Freshman fifteen is the idea that in one’s first year of attending college, the student will gain fifteen pounds. On average students are gaining weight at an abnormal pace however, it is not exactly the amount that the media has portrayed.
As much as I enjoyed school as a child, that was not the case when I reached high school. High school was an entire different environment from elementary and middle school. I strongly disliked my classes because I felt that they were too difficult for me and the teachers never had time to explain the course material more efficiently. It felt as though the teachers were
High school is a time in your life that at the time you think is the worst part in your life, but will later find out, that it is the best time in your life. Unlike my fellow senior classmates, I have come to the realization that I will miss this “shitty” place we call school. High school is a mixture of 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 year olds. Unlike elementary and middle school, in high school, all students are mixed together. To me, high school is a time in your life to figure out who you are, who your friends are, and to make memories. I love high school and will miss every minute of it next year when I am off in college, alone. O Bentworth Senior High School.
In middle school I have participated in as many school activities as I possibly could. First of all, in 6th and 7th grade I was part of Student Council. In Student Council we worked on projects to improve the school, participated in community service, and fundraised to help others. One project I took a big role in was the Olympia recycles project. Secondly, I have been part of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) for 2 years now. Members of the National Junior Honor Society were chosen based on their outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. In NJHS we organize a lot of fun events that will interest others and we do
I really like high school because you get to meet new people and you get to do more things. High school changed my way of acting and the way I react to things. High school really helped me a lot. I really like the new me I guess teachers got stricter I don’t know but they did really change me. I noticed how this year I stared caring more about my school work, and anything I had to do. Sometimes I would slack off but then I would I would
High school has been a very interesting experience for me. It has definitely had its highs and lows and many confusing experiences in between. Overall, I feel like I have been equipped for not only college, but also life as a whole. High school has taught me many things, both academically and emotionally. It has revealed and exposed my true colors, both good and bad, and as a result, has built many aspects of my character. My experiences at Alameda High school and Alameda Community Learning Center have shaped me into the person that I am today.
It was a very weird excitement about applying to high school's. High school was the big topic during my eighth-grade year. Everyone was talking about how they believe their high school career should be. Although I did not have much information other than what I had seen on television I did not know what to expect. I knew I was going to high school though at the time this was not something I wanted to face.
As senior year is coming to a wrap, many memories are flowing through the mind as graduation day approaches. It is always fun to look back at the activities that we were involved with, classes we took, and laughs that we all shared. Senior year has been the most memorable year out of the four years that I have spent in high school. I love dissecting animals, or anything I can get my hands on, and one day our Human Anatomy and Physiology class had the privilege to dissect a cat.
High school is a place of connection. The high school where students do work that is meaningful and relevant to college, like learning basic essay format, or original mathematics formula, etc. Students would guide by experienced master teachers who care not only about their grade but their life and future. Although high school provided opportunities to students, they will still make the mistakes that have negatively impact their success of colleges. When I was a high school student, I met lots of students that don't care about their school work and teachers; they are likely skipped classes, being lazy and feeling unconfident about their future.
High school senior students have the most difficult year then other grade levels since they have activities and the mandatory senior paper. Do you think that students in high school have as much fun as they tell their parents when they get home at the end of the day? High school has been known as “hell” to many students from freshman to seniors in high school. Students don’t tell their parents as much as they should now, then before the twenty first century. Since the tennagers wont tell their parents, most all of high school students struggle to keep their grades up during their senior year. The senior papers should be tampered with throughout all high schools because this transaction would let seniors deal with less stress, and less
My 6th grade year was fun but i hated it to all of the drama
High school has been a very irreplaceable experience for me. It has been a very hilly road with many ups and downs. I look back to freshman year and it is hard to believe that in only a couple months I will have reached my first destination out of many more. I feel like my high school experience has very well prepared me for college and facing the real outside world as a whole. Overall, I feel like I have been equipped for not only college, but also life as a whole. I have learned how to how with others and express what I think appropriately. I have developed great skills and have found the real me. My experiences are the ones how have molded me into the confident person I am now.
This school year I have listed a set of goals. A goal is something we want enough that we make an effort to reach it. This year my goals will help me grow little by little. My first goal is to finish homework. My second goal is to come to school early every day. Last but not least one of my personal goals is to turn of my electronics at home and read at least for 2 hours.
Time flies so fast. Looking back, my high school is just like a movie, a lot of things happened. High School is four years of growing up and probably a time in your life where you go through the most changes. In high school you are able to discover yourself and find out who you are as a person. Each year is special and unique in their own way. My journey through high school was a tough one, especially because I decided to not only focus on academic work but also to invest quality time in extra curriculum activities. I wanted more than just academic excellence; I wanted to be a leader, I wanted to add value to every aspect of my life, I wanted a rounded education and not just mere schooling. My success story is what I will like to share with you; how I really made it and how this defines my personality. My journey in High School was scary, exciting, and successful.
