The ability to answer profound questions such as the origin of mass and dominance of matter over antimatter and a keen desire to unveil the secrets of our universe motivates me to pursue a PhD and subsequently a research career in Physics. As a PhD candidate I hope to learn about the extremely appealing field of High Energy Physics and make my contribution to it.
I got my first experience of carrying out research in a group during High School while competing in a worldwide Mathematics and Science Olympiad conducted by the University of Canberra. As a part of the team all the members had to study together to propose solutions for the posed problems. Studying about various advanced concepts, beyond the school curriculum opened up a new horizon for me, motivated me to look at problems from a new perspective and I realized my inclination towards studying Physics and Mathematics. In the final round of the Olympiad we won the Silver Medal for our school and a Certificate of Excellence. While preparing for the Olympiad I gained not only much new knowledge and experience but also confidence that devoting myself to physics was the right decision.
On producing excellent results in the final year Educational Board Exams, which is the equivalent of a US High School Diploma, I gained admission in the University of Delhi, the highest ranked university in India. I spent 3 years as part of the Bachelor’s in Physics degree in studying and developing the concepts of physics by taking papers ranging from Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics to Electricity and Magnetism and Statistical Mechanics. I had the privilege of studying under the guidance of some of the best in their field and got some much needed research exposure. During the summer of 201...

...mental High Energy Physics motivates me to study at the University of Florida. I am certain that working and studying in such an environment would provide me with the necessary exposure for intellectual development which is crucial and vital for professional maturity. The incentive of studying about phenomenology of new Physics beyond the Standard model under Professor Matchev is a very strong reason to apply. Not only because he is working on high energy theory physics, my favourite field of study, but also because I would like to study and ultimately contribute towards the development of a Grand Unified Theory. I believe that my ability of working with determination and focus, a strong academic record and research experience will be beneficial while pursuing further study and that a PhD program at the University of Florida would be the next milestone in my career.
I am a dedicated, focused student looking to push the boundaries of Engineering Physics with creative out of the box thinking. I have the drive to be successful and positively represent UBC Engineering Physics. I have a passion for physics and math which is why I believe this program is so appealing and a perfect choice. Having already started, run and sold a successful landscaping company, I have experience in entrepreneurship and have determined being an entrepreneur is something I want to pursue in the future. I believe Engineering Physics would give me the opportunity and breadth of knowledge to make my entrepreneurial vision a reality and allow me to find solutions to the issues that will impact the future of humanity. Freshman year it was one of the last big science projects of the school year and my teacher reveals a list of the groups and I see my group and they just stared at each other. I waited for someone to step up when I realized that it was going to have to be me. I began talking to everyone individually and seeing what they knew and how they could put together what they knew so we could all contribute to this project and walk away a little

Back in Russia, at the Omsk State University, I faced one of the most motivating and terrifying challenges. I was a freshman in the applied physics and math department when I asked a professor about an equation we discussed during the lecture. He answered,
I am a 23 year-old girl born into a family of scientists; my dad is a physician, my mom is a scientist, and my elder sister is pursuing her Ph.D. as a physicist. Despite being one year younger than my sister, I have always been in the same class with her.
The largest and most powerful particle collider in the world, based in CERN on the border of France and Switzerland, it is a huge undertaking. It is built to assists the scientists in discovering what the Earth is made of; it also plays a crucial part in resolving many theories by scientists. It is a 27 kilometer ring with super magnets that help the particles speed along the way. Some people also argue that it’s a machine that could possibly be dangerous, because it has the capability of creating small BLACK HOLES! “One way or another, it's the world's largest machine and it will examine the universe's tiniest particles. It's the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).”
The year 2012 was not only memorable to physicists for its breakthroughs, which include the galaxy motion cluster, neutrino-based communication or the method to see through opaque materials. But it is memorable because 2012 was the year that the physicists working in the Large Hadron Collider announced the detection of the Higgs boson particle.
Due to the same affinity towards Mathematics, Science and research in general, I have opted for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my major subjects in high school (XII th standard), where I have scored the top marks with 91%. I have secured State 340 Rank among the 250,000 students in the Common Engineering Entrance Exam (EAMCET), it’s the only Entrance Exam for admissions into the undergraduate colleges in the state. I have also secured All India Rank of 107 ...
An exceptionally eminent faculty, an environment abounded with scholastic activity and a graduate program that beautifully blends the pearls of high-end course work and research facilities at the avant-grade of every field are the attributes that drive my motivation to choose your university for my graduate studies. I can affirm that I possess the basic aptitude, dedication and potential to maintain the aspiration and motivation required for my graduate study. I am certain that the graduate program offered by your University will prove to be the most efficient and effective approach towards my future career. I am convinced that this opportunity will significantly heighten my research expertise, providing me with the essential competence and allowing me to presume my knowledge and potentials to an advanced level.

From a very young age, I have enjoyed reading a wide spectrum of topics. However, during high school, I had become preoccupied with physics during my studies and readings, and so I began to focus my attention upon the materials that further shed light on the science. The more I read, the more I became intrigued with the interrelations between matter, energy, and time and space motion illustrated through the science. Therefore, motivated to become one of Saudi Arabia’ few female physicists, upon graduating from high school I opted to major in the science that captivated me like no other....
From my schooling, I had immense interest in Mathematics and thus I choose Mathematics and Science at my intermediate level. My school was the place at which I gained deep knowledge in the fundamentals of Maths and Science. Academic excellence has always been my primary goal & it has engendered in me a sense of Competitiveness. I secured an aggregate of 89% in my high school and 86% in my higher secondary program. This performance helped me in getting admission into CVR College of Engineering, for my undergraduate program which is one among the top 10 colleges under Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
Banking on an excellent academic record coupled with a keen interest in the ever-growing field of science and technology motivated me to take up engineering. In school, I consistently secured one of the top positions of the class. I have always been attracted towards subjects that draw upon one's analytical abilities. Thus, Mathematics and Physics were my favorite subjects and I secured 89% marks in my 12th class. I am among the top 3 percent in Engineering entrance test to UG schools out of two and half lakh students and I could get into the top ranked college of the state and one of the most reputed universities in the country, K L Uni...
Furthermore, upon commencing my studies at (name of university), I am optimistic to obtain a rewarding, although highly demanding, senior position at one of my country’s largest Electric-Industrial Enterprises and apply my accumulated knowledge to the advancement of my career and hopefully, the science as well.
