Kami Geiger ENG2D Mr.Colbourne April 19, 2024. In the two movies The Incredibles directed by Brad Bird and Zootopia directed by Rich Moore and Byron Howard there are two main heroes Judy Hopps and Mr.Incredible (Bob Parr). “Even though heroes from various cultures achieve heroic status through different means, the fundamental qualities of a hero are similar.” Judy Hopps is a bunny hero that saves several throughout the movie. The three character traits that I have that fit both Judy and Mr. Incredible are: confident, and life saving. Confidence is a good character trait that fits both of them because they both never give up during their challenges. As I move forward I also think that life saving fits them well because during both of the movies …show more content…
While Mr.Incredible tried to start his adventure as a superhero again, he needed to pick his strength and speed back up. He started to work on himself by working out again. He didn’t let the office job pick up with his superhero job. You need to be able to be a confident person to be a hero, and they didn’t let us down with that. They were both confident enough to not give up and get the strength that they needed to be a hero. Furthermore, the two characters show confidence when during each of the movies they both get knocked down. When Judy finally reaches her goal of becoming a cop she gets the daily job of today she is going to be on parking patrol so she took the job and went and started to give everyone the parking tickets that they deserved she worked so hard and ended up giving 200 tickets when one more parking meter goes off and it is her own car so 201! As she got down to herself, she didn’t give up. She knew that she had enough confidence left in her to prove to her chief that she could do more than just parking patrol. Judy didn’t give up and started to try to prove that she can do so much more. Judy continues to have the confidence that she can make Zootopia a better place throughout the
All of the qualities shown in these men are important in showing heroism. Heroism is having qualities that highlight someone's unique and noble abilities. Both of these men portray a massive amount of heroism in their stories.
Maya Angelou said “I think a hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for all people.” This can't be anymore true of Judy Hopps. In the beginning of the film she was naive, ambitious, and optimistic. Although Judy Hopps is considered a dumb bunny, Judy Hopps is an hero because she stands up for what's right , she is brave, and she follows the Hero’s Journey.
Who is your hero? Many of us can clearly picture our idea of our personal hero in our head, but is the person you consider to be a hero really a hero by definition? In Heroism: Why Heroes are Important, Scott LaBarge, a Classics and Philosophy Professor at Santa Clara University, awakens your thoughts on the word heroism and how it has changed since its origins in ancient Greece. Throughout his essay, he goes in depth into the term ‘hero’ and compares it to society’s take on heroes today. Although LaBarge uses examples to back up his stance that “Today, it is much harder to detach the concept of heroism from morality (LaBarge. 1),” his essay contains flaws and he contradicts his own words.
Every generation has its own heroes that display, what they believe to be, ideal characteristics. While each is different in their own way, many of these role models share similar qualities. Most tend to have courage, strength, compassion, or another respected trait, but this is not necessarily why they win the adoration of their followers.
Stand up to the injustice unafraid of the strong enemy. Do the right thing even if you are weak. That is who we call a hero. Johnny could satisfy himself to save his friend. He could literally do anything to save his friend.

Atticus Finch is a heroic character in To Kill A Mockingbird. A hero is a person who is known for certain achievements and qualities. Atticus is known for many qualities he displayed during the novel, as well as various achievements. This makes him a heroic character. Atticus Finch is a hero because he defended a black man in court, proved his abilities and intelligences, and cared for everybody equally.
In this essay I have only shown three, but there are so many more and the traits of a hero are not only restricted to people who save lives, chase bad guys, or change the world. He overcame constant pressures with his determination, led a whole team with his outstanding leadership, and never gave up thanks to his passion. He is a hero to many, no cape, or superpowers needed. So now it’s up to you, is he, or is he not, a
Have you ever heard of a hoodlum preforming a Good Samaritan act? Well the common stereotype is that hoodlums don’t do anything but hurt the community but two boys broke that stereotype. The Greasers proved to be the heroes in the story, not like the beloved Socs. The three greasers who showed the most heroism are Johnny, Darry, and Dally. This is because they sacrificed themselves to a bigger cause or to save the lives of others.
In the film Hancock, Hancock is an archetypal hero because he follows the hero’s journey. Hancock is a vigilante superhero living in the outskirts of Los Angeles, California. His reckless ways cause the city of Los Angeles to essentially dislike the anti- hero. Hancock does more good for himself than he does for the city hence the “anti-hero”. He is disliked until he saves a man who links him to the journey of an archetypal hero.
Through reading about these heroes, kids believe that there are good things that happen to good people. These heroes encourage many kids when they’re young, and provide them with right and wrong. For example, many fairy tales and comic stories show kids the kinds of behaviors that need in order to succeed in life, to improve society, and to overcome hard times. They become their example of healthy adult role models who through hard times and many contractions they were able to react positively and overcome hard times. Heroes prove to them that no matter how much suffering and hardships in the world, there are good people, who always do the right thing and provide us with hope in hard times. Heroes do provide courage for us to overcome emotionally, physically, or spiritually
Bravery is not the only trait in which a hero possesses. A hero needs and has more than one heroic quality, just like no flower is complete without its vibrant colors and sweet smell. Goodness can be compared to that of a flower’s vibrant colors and sweet smell.
In the novel “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, there are many characters who display acts of hero. However, one character that stands out as a true hero is Atticus Finch. What is a hero, you might ask? Well, a hero is someone who is brave with courage who will put their life at risk to help others. Hero’s are greatly admired and have many achievements.
Throughout history, there have always been heroes. Those strong-willed, brave individuals who perform courageous acts for fame and glory are prevalent in most cultures.. Societies have these heroes as standards of their cultures’ moral codes. Every society has their own definition of these codes are, so a unifying definition of hero can be hard to achieve. However, Philip Zimbardo says “Simply put, then, the key to heroism is a concern for other people in need—a concern to defend a moral cause, knowing there is a personal risk, done without expectation of reward.” With this basic definition, I will be examining various epic heroes I’ve studied throughout the course of my senior year for characteristics. From the copious amounts of studying, I’ve deduced that Achilles, Odysseus, Aeneas, Socrates, Gilgamesh, Beowulf, and Arthur all have characteristics that make them heroic.
The concept of sexual orientation, which is a person’s romantic and emotional attraction to another person, is a modern sociological construct (Macionis, Jansson, Benoit, & Burkowicz, p. 190, 2016). The predominant classifications of this concept are heterosexuality, meaning the sexual attraction to someone of the opposite sex, and homosexuality, the sexual attraction to someone of the same sex (Macionis et. al., p. 190, 2016). With the large majority of society’s acknowledgment towards these two sexual identities, it leaves little to no room for those who find themselves in neither ends of these categories, to receive any sort of recognition. More specifically, the visibility for those who establish themselves as bisexual, defined as the sexual attraction to people of both genders, face misconceptions from a portion of society (Macionis et. al., p. 190, 2016). Whether it may be from heterosexuals or homosexuals, someone who falls in between the two identities seem to encounter greater difficulties in gaining social acceptance. Despite having its place in the term, LGBTQ, which is an abbreviation for the community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and people of other sexual orientations and
