Hercules, the strongest hero in Greek mythology. Hercules was a great hero and was put through many many hardships to earn that title. And as popular of of a hero he was people do get confused to as what happened in the myth and what happened in the disney movie, there are many key differences between the two. In the myth Hercules is put through a lot and has to face down everything he goes against, the myth is much bloodier and gorier than the movie. In the myth Hercules is sent on a quest called “The Twelve Labors”, Eurystheus sent him on this quest after Apollo told Hercules to listen to him, Hercules did this to try and redeem himself. In the myth Hercules didn’t fear many things, the thing he feared most was killing more innocent and being blamed for it. He was scared of being cursed and killing the ones that he loved. In the movie Hercules is kind of the joker archetype. In the movie Hercules does many things to help people and try to be a hero, his true quest is to become a true hero so he can be a god again. Hercules greatest fear in the movie was the fear of not fitting in, everywhere he went he felt like he didn’t belong and just wanted to be somewhere that he fit in at. Hercules main dragon in the movie was Hades, Hades is the one who stole him from the heavens and turned him mortal and sent all the monsters after Hercules. Hercules task was to become a great hero so that he could ascend to the heavens and become a god once more. Hercules final act that made him a god was risking his life, knowing he was going to die to save the girl he loved.
