Hedgehog's Good Deeds
Page
Mr. Owl quickly flapped his wings to calm down the chattering animals. Smoothing his feathers, he pointed one wing to the board behind him where it said,“MAKING A DIFFERENCE.”

“Summer break is just a few weeks away, but I’m not through with this class yet," hooted Mr. Owl. "This weekend, you must do three good deeds. On Monday, I want you to come back, and tell me what you did and how that helped make a difference. Now, class dismissed, and enjoy your weekend.”

As Hedgehog left the room with the other young animals, his spiny head filled with ideas on how to improve the forest, but he couldn’t think of anything he could do right away.

a difference. Hedgehog had listened carefully as Mr. Owl explained how one action was sometimes all it took to improve the world. But, now that he was assigned to make an actual difference, himself, he didn’t know what to do. Page “Hey, Hedgehog,” said Porcupine, interrupting his thoughts, “Want to hang out tomorrow?" Hedgehog nodded his spiky head with a smile, as Porcupine went on his way with a wave. He had to hurry home and rest until the morning. Tomorrow was going to be a busy day. Page The next day, Porcupine met up with Hedgehog, and they decided to walk around the forest. Hedgehog told Porcupine all about his busy week, while his friend listened and told him his honest thoughts. Just then, they heard a sound from behind one of the oak trees. Page Hedgehog darted to the back of the tree, only to see a small, gray kitten meowing at him. The young feline was nipping at the tree bark, and Hedgehog knew he must be terribly hungry. Before Porcupine could even realize what was going on, Hedgehog rushed to the grocery store to use the last of his allowance to buy a fish. Page He ran back and got the kitten’s attention.
The cat looked at the fish and meowed in happy approval. Hedgehog laid the fish on the ground, and the kitten pounced on it, gnawing on the meat with glee.Porcupine laughed as Hedgehog walked up to him. “Did you just spend your own money to feed a kitten?” he asked.
Page
Hedgehog nodded, “Just trying to make a difference in the world,” he replied.
“I guess," Porcupine shrugged,"I mean, millions of cats are hungry every day. Just feeding one won’t really make a difference.”
Hedgehog sighed, “Really?” he asked.

Porcupine bobbed his head. Hedgehog felt upset, but smiled at his friend to hide his embarrassment. They soon came to the forest park, which unfortunately was covered in litter! Wrappers, cans and bottles covered the ground. Hedgehog’s eyes lit up, and before Porcupine could say anything, Hedgehog grabbed all the garbage he could. He even used his spines to pick more up once his hands were full!

He dashed towards the garbage can and threw in the trash. Soon, the park was all cleaned up. Porcupine walked up to him, scratching his spiny head. “What did you do that for?” he asked.
Page
“Just making a difference with a bit of cleaning,” Hedgehog replied.
“Yeah, but there're tons of garbage out there. And come tomorrow, someone will just pollute the park all over
again.” Hedgehog blinked back tears as he and Porcupine shuffled home.Porcupine was right. All his actions would be for nothing. Page When Hedgehog woke up the next morning, he asked his father for advice about his school assignment. His dad rubbed his spiny mustache replying, “When I was your age, we planted trees. Trees clean the air we breathe and can be a home to many animals.” He handed Hedgehog some money. “Why not go and buy a tree from the nursery?” Page Hedgehog did just that.At the nearest nursery, he bought a sapling. He soon found what looked like the perfect place to plant it, so he dug a hole and put the sapling inside. Sealing up the hole, Hedgehog admired how the little sapling stood straightly out of the ground. Page Just then, he heard footsteps as Porcupine walked up behind him. “What’s up?” he asked. “Just planting a tree. My dad told me that’d be a good deed for class.” Porcupine chuckled, “But trees take so long to grow, and with so many trees being chopped down, it’s not going to make a difference.” Page As Porcupine left, Hedgehog looked at the sapling and cried in frustration at last. It was true! His deeds were for nothing, again! He returned home and didn’t even bother talking to his parents. He was just too disappointed in himself. Page When Hedgehog returned to school the next day, Mr. Owl flapped his wings for attention and started speaking. “Who wants to go first?” Hedgehog did not volunteer. He did not even look at the teacher. Instead, he cradled his head in his paws as the other animals told their stories. Page Frog explained how he helped an old toad across the lily pads, while Raccoon explained how he helped pick apples from the trees because Horse couldn’t reach them. Page Soon, Hedgehog was the last one left. He looked the other way and sighed, banging his head on the desk “Didn't you do anything?” Owl asked. “I didn’t . . . I mean, I fed a kitten, picked up litter and planted a tree, but what’s the point? They didn’t even make a difference!” Page Owl turned his head, “Oh, really? I would disagree with that. While those actions might not seem to change the world right away, they can inspire others.” “What do you mean?” Hedgehog asked. Page “If others see what you’re doing, they can spread the word. One person feeding a cat won’t change much, but if everyone starts doing it, more cats will go to bed with full bellies. Some might follow your example and all the litter will be cleaned up. And there will be enough trees to cover the world. You, Hedgehog, did make a difference. You even told everyone what you did to motivate them.” Page The animals clapped, and Hedgehog smiled. After class was dismissed, Porcupine looked at Hedgehog with regret, “I’m sorry for making you feel bad. I was wrong. I spent so much time telling you what you were doing was useless, instead of thinking how to help the world myself. I even forgot to do my own good deeds, and I might get a zero for this assignment. Page Hedgehog patted Porcupine on the spiny back. “Well, why don’t we fix that? Wanna go to the park and clean up some trash?” Porcupine nodded, “It’d be my pleasure.” The two spiky friends left the school, heading out to change the world.
“I don’t get it. Why did you have to give me a pet name in the first place? What’s the point?”
Leaders attain power through a combination of political savvy, physical strengthen and rhetorical skill. Weak leaders use sheer duplicity to gain power since to be duplicate shows a lack of the characteristics need for a respectable leader to determine if a leader is a noble one depends on the characteristics and overall mental state of the candidate. A few characteristics of a worthy leader include focus, passion, divisiveness, physical and mental strength, and confidence.
The likelihood of the four-toed hedgehog going extinct is very improbable. They have an extensive range and are very stable in regards to their wildlife population. They continue to grow in the wild and animal experts have not seen any alarming declines in the population rates. Hence, they have a minimal conservation status. But with the four-toed hedgehog’s development into a popular exotic household pet, there have been some concerns about the threatening of the native populations in Africa. Luckily, there is a breeding stock that is present in the United States that supplies this pet demand. Furthermore, it is prohibited to transport the four-toed hedgehog animals out of Africa to the pet trade market. These regulations allow for the native populations to flourish (Nichols 2014)
Hedgehogs eat a wide range of invertebrates including worms, snails, slugs, and insects, but hedgehogs also eat carrion and scraps and even sometimes can eat baby mice, baby birds and eggs. The food they eat is what they forage from the undergrowth and in the fields. Hedgehogs will drink water from small bodies of water such as puddles or small streams and drink a lot for their body

O Captain, my Captain, Mrs. Kudronowicz you made my 5th grade all the way up to 8th grade very memorable, and special. I hope we keep making memories and little special moments until it’s time for me to leave this old jail. I loved when you let me clean your salamander tank, although sometimes I got a little ahead of myself and started to splash people with the water in the tank. One reason why I think you became so close to me in a way was because your open minded about anything I would say. Even when I had the wrong answer, you always had a good explanation for what I had said. You were the person who made me be in love with animals. It all started from you. I began to bring in squirrels, snakes, and my dog to your classroom, which made
She came to the top of the sand and peeked over to make sure nobody was there. Sure enough, everybody was inside getting their rest. She started walking next to the beach at where the tide came in, listening to the waves hit the water. It was a peaceful night until she fell over something and landed with a thud. Something moaned and she hoped it wasn’t a human or else she would have been sent to animal control like that. A figure stood up and Foxleen soon recognized it was another fox. “My name is Foxy,” the other fox said with his hand out for Foxleen to shake. Foxleen and Foxy had an instant connection, they talked until the sun came up. Foxleen then said her goodbyes and started walking back up the beach. Foxy had a desire to be with Foxleen and couldn’t let her walk away without knowing if they would meet again. Foxy walked up to her and started walking with her. She didn’t care one bit and played along with it. He asked Foxleen why she didn’t stay in the daylight and she explained to him why and what would happen if she got caught. Foxy was so surprised to hear that the humans could be that mean. He was also surprised that she had never heard of the animal beach that was a couple miles down the beach from where they were. Foxy took Foxleen to the beach and to her surprise there were many animals there including her friends. They ran up to her to

“It’s to bad that Mr. Griff is closing the shop,” Queen thought to her self. Queen and three dogs had been pets of Mr. Griff the owner, but now the shop was going out of buisness and Mr. Griff put all the furnistur outside his shop so people could look at them. Days passed and very little students had volunteered. “Only two student? “ said Principal Green. Ms. Pillsbury answered “Yes only two, the kids are scared. The weekend was finally here, the weekend we had all been waiting for. I was anxious sitting in my seat in my last class for the day, waiting for the bell to ring to let us out of Drake Middle School. This weekend was not just an ordinary weekend, but a very special one. This weekend was the weekend of Winter Retreat at Shocco Springs. The bell finally rang, and 100 seventh graders jumped out of their seats to hurry home to finish packing. As I was packing, I thought about this weekend and how much fun it was going to be. A weekend away from home spent with my best friends, yummy food, and of course the boys versus girls football game. My mom threw my suitcases in the back of the car and drove me and my friends to where the buses would arrive to take us to the retreat. When we got there we saw eight buses lined up in a row, taking 500 students away for the weekend. My heart started racing; seeing all the buses got me so excited for this weekend. I gave my mom a kiss on the check and hopped on the bus to find a good seat.
Images of the wise owl and black bird held in high regard on that day. I still have no assumptions about why knights in battle; a significant true meaning and in the same regards of straw from farm crops burned and scattered on new crop of the farmer. The scent of cinnamon was everywhere from kitchens to fresh new candles set on beautifully decorated neighboring tables. Leaf and from oak tree, to apple gathered and set for decoration. Soft vocals from every person notice and sung. While friend, family and visitors had seemed quite serious that night. Within the silence and people a daunting image seen figuratively within a rare sight of green mist surrounds a new crop and its form. A hiss where a gush of wind storm had taken its place, among trees and narrow plains of grass. To be still, by watching and let nature take its course. Relevant and obvious of all beauty and glory that is to happen next. Astonished by energy, pure of a different sort of existence and of flesh which breathes similar air. I realize the importance to comprehend and to know with realizing by only accepting everyone is different and amazing. Since then I do not even bother to think of an absurd question pertaining to another person and their
