Imagine this: you’re at some drunken party downtown. You’re holding a lukewarm budlight in one hand and a slightly smoking cigarette in the other. You flick the ash and breathe it in but you don’t inhale all the way because it makes you cough up your right lung when you actually do and you don’t want to look like a pansy. Even though the lights are dim, you are terribly self-conscious about how your make-up wears off as the night goes on and you’re just sure that everyone who looks at you close enough will see all the things you hate about yourself. You’re shuffling your feet awkwardly to an obnoxious song you don’t even know the name of. Your friends are all scattered throughout the bars, holding near-empty plastic cups of booze, twirling …show more content…
You put out the cigarette – you only do it when you’re drunk and it was never your style anyways. You finish the rest of the beer in one swift swallow and set the empty glass on the nearest table and walk out the door. It’s 1:47 am and the sidewalks are still littered with people and laughter and you weave your way through them with your head down, hands shoved in your pockets and you stumble three-quarters of a mile home.
You attempt to half-jog and as your heels hit the pavement in an un-rhythmic beat, you see two headlights coming down the dimly lit street and you begin to walk again. You don't want to seem like a crazy drunk person running on the sidewalk - they might stop to ask if everything is okay you wouldn't have the words to say that you're seeing if it's possible to run away from your own shadow. When you get home you crawl into the safety of your bed and tears prick at your eyelids and you wonder if you’re always going to feel like the word “missing”, like the last one to be picked in gym class. You’re going to cry out all your lonely into your pillowcase and your blue eyes will feel like sandbags, like the color drained right out with the salty tears. You're going to plead to God that this feeling leaves soon because your heart has been sitting a little lower in your rib-cage and your feet have been dragging

You are not your hollow nights or your lack of self-belief or all the times you kissed someone you didn’t even want to kiss. You are not your mistakes and my God, you are certainly not second place. You’re going to find a job that requires you to put your entire heart into every single day and you’re going to leave on Friday’s with an odd, satisfying feeling that people out there need to hear the words you have to say. There will always be milk and eggs in the fridge and you’ll call your folks on the weekend to tell them that you miss them. So take that empty feeling and leave it in the cold, let the wind carry it
“Ponyboy run for it!”,I yell to him David chasing after him,and pony doged there first atemt then he was caught both arms twisted behind his back and legs gripped by the arms of two socs while they hadnt caught me yet,I was still running. The socs broght pony boy to bob and he pointed tweords the fountain with no hesitation and with that pony boy was head first drowning in a fountain of freezing cold water. As I was runnning from the socs I saw ponyboy as blue as a blue berry trying to hold his breath in.”I can t see this,I need to do somthing” I cryed. It was then that I rememberd I had thatswisarmy knife in my back pocket but I felt Heroism Revenge and Rushed for time but I also felt Question, confused and disbelefe.Eiether way I had to even thought I would be a murderer. With that I Stabed Bob in the heart and he slowly fell to the ground and then colapst onto the cold pavment.
Lily is thinking “how much older fourteen had made [her]. In the space of a few hours [she’d] become forty years old.” She makes this connection after she realizes that maybe her mother's death could have not been her fault and that it could have been T. Ray’s and he was punishing her for it. This caused Lily to pack “...5 pairs of shorts, tops, ... shampoo, toothpaste...” $38 and a map (41-42). By doing this, it made her feel like she had aged, feeling like a 40 year old.
It has been too long since I last wrote to you, so I thought I would inform you on momentous events that happened in my life in the last little while. The previous time I heard from you was when Gabriel turned three. I can’t believe he is about to become a teenager now. My goodness, time flies by so fast. I was so ecstatic when I saw your prior letter arrive in my mail.

"Two-Bit, I swear, if you don't shut up I will come over there and personally beat the tar outta you."
I also don't own the idea, it was requested to me by the wonderful Amanda. Thank you so much! I hope I did this idea justice.
At the same time: Snap-Whoosh-Growl-Snap-Whoosh-Growl! Return with a fierceness, causing the rest of the men to separate into two groups with some moving to the left in search of the origin of the beastly sounds and the others moving to the right, combining their numbers with those searching for their missing brethren, while Gottlieb stays behind.
Since the first segment of the series was released in 1997, Harry Potter has been challenged by churches and parents due to the practicing of magic by children found within the books. The books have been removed from school shelves, discouraged by churches, and censored by parents. It is claimed that Harry Potter is devilish, satanic, and encourages children to practice the occult, damaging their religious views (LaFond). Therefore, many parents keep their children from reading the book series. Yet, Harry Potter has been such a positive influence on my so many lives. Evident through the movies, theme parks, stores, and much more, J.K. Rowling’s series has been an overwhelming success for many reasons (“Because it’s his…”). In order to encourage
An important rhetorical device that appears throughout the entire Harry Potter series is symbolism. There are many names and items that stand for something else and many are introduced in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. First, Harry’s scar represents the true love parents have for their children and how they are willing to do anything, including being killed, in order to save them. Next, the Mirror of Erised shows a person their truest desires and everything he or she would want in life. Thirdly, each wizard’s wand is representative of his or her character and personality and if the improper one is used, terrible events will occur. Finally, the names of the founders of the four Hogwarts Houses are symbols of the core beliefs and values of each.
I knew it would happen. As much as I tried to stay optimistic, to put off my feelings of suspicion to an old man's negativity, I knew that this case would cost me something more than just my reputation in the town and that didn't even really matter. In Maycomb, reputation is a day by day concept. Sure, we have more than enough of our fair share of immovable gossipers, and drama kings and queens looking for a story to spread. But in everyone's own mind, if you did something stupid, immoral, or just mildly humorous or entertaining, it was the talk of the town and you were judged terribly for a few days, a few weeks tops. Then the whispers, and glances faded to conversations over coffee, and deep inside jokes. My reputation didn't bother me one bit.
Listening, I could hear them, the persistent sound of chatter and laughter. The roar of ambient joy rang from the house and into the ears of everyone behind the scene. You never know what to expect when you're standing backstage; you never know what's going to happen. Thousands of thoughts and worries are bouncing around your head. What if I mess up my life? What if I miss my cue? What if I forget how to speak? It isn't until that very precise moment when the audience's voices have hushed to a whisper and directly before the curtain has opened that your mind becomes clear. You forget all about the hundreds of people that came to see your show. You forget all about the friends you have in the audience just waiting for that moment when you have to do some embarrassing stunt on stage to capture it on film. You even forget all about who you are and all your worries. In that moment, you are an actor.
We’re halfway through the show and we’re about to sing “Little Things” and I get this idea. “To make this song even more special, we’ll each pick one of you to come up here with us.” After I finish the room goes insane and the lads look confused. So the band starts to play and we begin to look. Zayn and Harry were the first to find their girls in the first row, but Louis, Liam, and I took our time. This was my perfect move to find her and I know where she sits. When I was holding those small hands her bracelet said “Row K Seat 3”, so that’s where I’m looking. “Niall what’s taking so long it’s not like you’re looking for the one.” Harry joked and the crowd went wild. But I am, there’s something about her that makes me crazy. “I found her.” I reach out for
In Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, J.K Rowling explains how love is a strong magic. This book displayed how Harry Potter and his friends looking for Horcruxes and destroyed them so they could stop Lord Voldemort’s reign. In the book, Harry Potter represents good and love while Voldemort illustrates evil and selfishness. The theme of this story is Love can conquer Death. This theme is important to the novel because it created conflict between characters. Conquering Death idea of Voldermort is to be the most powerful and immortal being. Harry, however believed that people need to continue loving and respecting people, who passed away.
Melinda was my absolute best friend. And I ruined it. We did everything together. Anything either of us did, the other one did the same. From soccer, to pink nail polish, to simply what we ate for lunch. I ruined it. She went through everything with me: thick and thin. I ruined it. I should’ve known. The night of the party. That’s when it all happened. I should’ve went to find her in the woods because I knew she was drunk. I saw her running back to the house like something had happened to her. I saw her take her phone out of her pocket. I saw her hit three numbers. I saw her put her phone up her to ear. When the police showed up I automatically assumed the worst. I had assumed that Melinda called the cops on the party to get it shut down. I never even once thought that there
"So do you remember when you made your big debut?" Walt Disney asked even though I know he remembers that perfect day like it was yesterday.
