When someone normal looks at this logo, their attention will be immediately directed towards the center of the artwork and will notice a long stick standing vertically at 90 degrees. I pity all those that need to be told what the majestic and well known weapon is. The lightsaber is merely a symbol to express my love for the entire star wars franchise. I have loved star wars for a very long time, since I started grade 8. In case you’re wondering, yes, the last line was sarcastic since Word hasn’t been updated to tell you the expression on my face and in my mind yet. I never really payed attention to star wars until I started grade 8. I has read a few star wars books and comics, but of course that was only for the purpose of showing my grade 6 and 7 teachers that I signed a book out from the library instead of fooling …show more content…
around like normal people. When I started grade 8, I heard many references about star wars from my friends and slowly started watching star wars movies. The first star wars movie I watched was “The Phantom Menace”. I slowly proceeded onto watching more movies and just like any other star wars fan, watched the same damn movies over and over again for approximately 999 billion times. And just to be clear, the 999 billion times wasn’t a hyperbole, it was the very clear truth. (Don’t let the black ink deceive you, since I assure you, the truth is very clear). I am very glad that I started watching star wars. Now I fit in with the nerds. Yay. The “Yay” was also sarcasm. I envy my friends for being interested in star wars long before I was, although we all know that their feeble knowledge of star wars could never compare to my superior knowledge of star wars. Any star wars obsessed fan would have instantly recognized that the lightsaber displayed in the logo is a certain, iconic, purple lightsaber which belonged to Mace Windu who in fact is and always will be my favorite character in star wars. For all the star wars fans out there, all I can say is “May the force be with you”. For all the people who don’t know about star wars “May your father be Darth Vader and your only hope now is suicide before I come find you”. The previous sentence would be ironic since it was for non-star wars fans so they wouldn’t understand the “Darth Vader” and the “you’re my only hope” jokes. Behind the purple lightsaber you will find a circle in which you will find another circle surrounded by two horizontal lines touching the top and bottom of the circle. It is a symbol to represent one of my favorite superheroes that I loved growing up as a child. This logo is worn by a superhero known as green lantern. When I was younger, I loved the concept of superheroes and you continuously buy toys or watch movies to show my love for them. Although I adored many superheroes, green lantern was always my favorite. More than the name and person, I loved the concept of his super powers. I was fascinated by the idea of manifesting any shape or random object at will and using it as a weapon. Imagine having the power to create any object, shape, machine, or weapon, just by wearing a ring on your finger. I added this logo to my artwork because I believe that superheroes were important in every child’s life and my life would have probably been boring without the concept of superheroes. Behind the green lantern logo you will see a triangle made up of 4 different colors. Normal people will not recognize the symbol at first sight. If you did recognize it, you must be a cell phone obsessed punk. For all the normal people: it is the google play store logo. I have always been interested in playing games and beating high scores. I spend hours each day playing games and would try to set new high scores. I do not see myself as a person that would be sitting at home and downloading games. I am likely to download a game that my friends have, just for the purpose of setting a score higher than theirs so I can remind them of how pathetic they are and how life fails them once again. I prefer to play small games that you can constantly play over and over again rather than the ones with a story and save progress. I can’t imagine living without games in a state of supreme depression and boredom. If you remove the colors of the three logos discussed before and leave only an outline, you will see a stick surrounded by a circle surrounded by a triangle.
It is another symbol I have used to represent a popular movie and book series know as Harry Potter. The symbol I used is made up of three items very important to the world of Harry Potter. The stick represents the elder wand. The most powerful wand ever created. The circle represents a stone called the philosopher/sorcerer stone which is used to bring back people from the dead. Finally the items are protected by the cloak of invisibility whose purpose should be pretty clear to normal people. I have loved harry potter even before I loved star wars. Harry Potter has always been my favorite movie series and have gathered many harry potter toys. Magic is very interesting and I love all the things you can do by different spells and the endless possibilities available to you. Harry potter movies brought meaning to my summer vacations since I continuously watched harry potter movies to rid myself of boredom. I feel really stupid for using the same ending for the last few paragraphs about being not
bored. On the edge of the triangle you will find a slightly slanted number seven and a backwards seven on the opposite side just for the purpose of creating symmetry. The seven is there simply because it is my favorite number. I cannot really explain why, but the number seven frequently occurs in my life and seems to be related to every small and big thing in my life and hence had the honor to be designated as my favorite number.

“When the Negro Was in Vogue from The Big Sea” by Langston Hughes was mainly about an ironic situation in which white, despite repressing the black community, “set up shop” in the majority black Harlem neighborhood. Also because the wealthy and influential were embracing the black culture, while outside of the Harlem neighborhood they oppressed them. One could conclude that the audience of this would be anyone unaware of the 1920’s and how some of the African Americans were treated. One could also conclude from the passage that the purpose of this was to give Langston’s perspective of how hypocritical America was at the time about racism. Whites felt that blacks were beneath them but wanted to go their clubs.
There are three methods of persuasion when speaking or writing to an audience: Ethos, Logos, and Pathos. Ethos uses a type of socially recognized authority as its voice. Logos uses logic and reasoning as its tool. Lastly, Pathos uses emotional attachment. For instance, the advertising industry primarily utilizes Ethos and Pathos reasoning and qualities, particularly a Matthew Mcconaughey Lincoln Motor Company commercial, and a Safe driving bonus check Ally Insurance commercial.
- The best example is to keep the logo as clean and clean as possible, Google company logo
There are many people who see space as the last and greatest frontier for humankind. There are many groups who are leading the way and NASA is one of them. But should our tax dollars be invested in such an idea? No, according to British history professor Jerry DeGroot. His thesis, in the article “is that United States should, a sensually, defund NASA. From what I can tell, he uses mainly pathos to try to sway his argument, leaving very little appeals to ethos and practically none to logos. I’m going to explore these three appeals, as well as many of the fallacies he uses within the piece.
Inside out is a movie about a girl named Riley Anderson who is born with five emotions joy, sadness, fear, disgust and anger. These emotions are housed in Riley’s mind called headquarters. Each emotion plays a very big role in Riley’s life because they chose how she should feel during every second of the day since she was born. As riley got older things changed and her parents decided to move to San Francisco. Moving to a different state and city really made Riley’s life go downhill. Riley’s emotions fear, anger, disgust, and sadness were put into effect when she realizes she has to start a new school, and make new friends. Joy is displayed as a character who take charge and is always happy. For example, joys doesn’t like when other emotion
The rhetor of the article, For many restaurant workers, fair conditions not on menu, uses several rhetorical elements to construct her argument and build upon her ethos. She uses logos to expand her credibility and ethos, as well as to make her pathos statements more rational. She appeals to the reader’s sense of American patriotism and freedom to try to sway the opinions of the reader. The article’s main argument is that workers in the restaurant industry are being unfairly treated with their minimum wage.
There is nothing better than music. With countless songs, artists, and genres of music in this world, there cannot be just the sound of music or singing. People want visuals to their favorite sounds as well. They love the music videos, album covers, posters, and magazines. Music Icons magazine pays tribute to very influential and popular bands of all time essentially. On the cover of this particular edition, “Pink Floyd” printed across the top in large, black letters with the subheadings: “The Story Behind Every Album” in red letters and “50 Year Salute to Rock’s Most Mysterious Band” below that in black letters. At the very top of the cover, the band’s most popular album’s covers are at the top in chronological order of when they were released. There is a white brick pattern background and along the bottom are the band’s four main members in black and white. This edition was printed in 2015 in the United Kingdom and the articles inside are not credited to one particular writer. The cover seems simple but it is still effective. Music Icons effectively reaches their target audience of Pink Floyd fanatics, along with people who might have heard of the band, but do not know anything about them through pathos, logos, and slight lack of

One of the greatest conflicts in the history of the United State of America, the Revolutionary War, was started when the colonies of North America declared themselves independent from British rule. A group of men known as the Founding Fathers, which included George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John and Samuel Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and others, formed the Continental Congress to rule their new nation. They chose Thomas Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence, which they would send to King George III to make their independence official. Jefferson knew that he needed to use strong language to make a solid agrument against British rule in the colonies and to convince the colonists that independence was the only choice to maintain their freedom as human beings. The powerful use of parallelism, ethos, pathos, and logos helpd Thomas Jefferson to convey his idea that all men are created equal with unalienable rights and that it is the duty of the government to protect those rights.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is the most widely known civil rights activist of the 1960s. Although he most famous for his I Have a Dream speech, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote several more influential speeches for the Civil Rights Movement – an American movement that sought to extend equal rights to all U.S. citizens. During his lifetime, he was known for practicing nonviolence in the hopes to obtain social and economic equality of all African Americans. While this equality exists amongst the races today, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did not get to see the fulfillment of his dream. On April 4, 1968, he was assassinated on the balcony of his hotel room in Memphis, Tennessee.
We see ads everywhere though-out our day even if we know it or not. Ads that make an attempt to persuade us one way or another. It could be to persuade someone into buying a product or even helping children that are in need. Either way, all these ads use certain persuasive methods, which include ethos, pathos or, logos, to get peoples attention. I saw an ad created by the National Association for Gun Rights. Obviously this ad is trying to let people that we have a right to have own guns. The ad shows a woman pointing a gun with the words “Mama didn’t raise a victim”. I’ve decided that the author was targeting woman that can presumably be victims of assault/abuse at any time. Given this information, the author is using pathos to let us know of the dangers that can be encountered at any given time as well as ethos because of the organization promoting the ad and even a bit of logos.
On September 11, 2001, America was forever changed. On this day, America faced the biggest terrorist attack that had ever been carried out; thousands of people lost their lives that day. Throughout the sadness and mourning of this terrible event, George Bush addressed the nation with one of the most memorable speeches. When President Bush addressed the nation, he stated that America is strong and they could try to bring us down, but we will not be broken. This speech gave hope to many Americans and helped them remember to stay strong. This day will be forever remembered for all the souls that lost their lives and the brave people who threatened their own life to save others.
The swastika, or twisted cross, is an ancient symbol that architects have found on pottery and coins dating back as far as 1000 BC (Rosenberg). Cultures used the swastika to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck (Rosenberg). The swastika was used by many cultures around the world, but th...
For some, an argument may be a discussion that leads people to become mad and feel hate towards someone. This also might bring tension, between friends and family, but there’re times when people just want to discuss a topic that they feel would make the conflict better or resolved. When an argument happens, it’s recommended to use Aristotle’s Rhetorical Triangle. It is here that Aristotle set’s up three ways to appeal to the audience, which are ethos, pathos, and logos. These three appeals help the writer to persuade, inform, or convince the audience that what he/she is doing the right thing. Without Aristotle’s Rhetorical Triangle and Aims of Arguments, the writer would unsuccessfully perform an argument correctly. If creditability of the
