Have you ever wondered where the conspiracy that if you pee in a pool the water will turn blue comes from? It comes from the movie Grown Ups, when Kevin James is sitting in the pool with his two kids and all of a sudden a cloud of blue swarms around their bodies. All men that have seen this movie are paranoid of this happening in real life, whether they admit it or not. The combination of an all-star cast, a genuine lesson learned at the end, and a humor that appeals to all age groups makes for one of the best comedies ever. The director of Grown Ups, Dennis Dugan, did a fantastic job of assembling a cast of comedy genius’. The five main roles are played by Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider. It is highly unlikely that anyone who enjoys comedy movies has never had a good gut busting laugh by one of these actors. There are multiple times where all of these actors make everyone that’s watching laugh …show more content…
There is a fine line between being able to watch a comedy with our parents or not, and this movie mastered that border perfectly. There is humor that attracts to all age groups throughout Grown Ups. Kids find their enjoyment in the farting grandma, and the physical harm all of the characters go through. Teenagers are amused by the cast making jokes about each other’s appearance and David Spade’s spouseless, alcoholic of a character. Such as when he passes out drunk in the closet and wakes up the next morning with one of the moms milking tubes on his breast. Adults are always humored by the relatable jokes made about the restrictions that come with getting older. For example, when Kevin James is running away during one of their games and gets an awful cramp in his leg. The humor that is suitable for all ages is what makes this movie one of the best comedies

Fun with Dick and Jane is a movie centered mainly on economics. It begins with Dick Harper, a hardworking employee at a corporation named Globodyne. He spent months on a job search and could not find anything, after he and his wife , Jane, could no longer take it, they resort to a life of crime in order to keep the comfortable lifestyle
I outright love this film. It’s a perfect blend of Apatow’s fluffy romantic-comedy, with Amy Schumer’s raunchy and reactionary sense of humor. I don’t laugh aloud in films often, it’s just not something I’m comfortable doing, but I actually laughed out loud a lot in this film. The type of humor that appeals to me is situational humor, and that’s what the vast majority of this film is comprised of. I understand how that can get under a person’s skin, the idea of a film going from scene to scene and basically banking off of the reactions of its leads can become a bit exhausting. ‘Trainwreck’ blends the heavier dramatic moments
This script keeps the various humorous moments coming, with the cast, especially Rudd, delivering the lines or performing the funny physical acts with natural ease. In the end, “Ant-Man” is a very amusing and lighthearted film in the same vein as “Guardians of the
During the entire film, there are very few dull and serious moments. The audience can laugh and see the friendship between the actors even outside of the movie. Such as the scene when they are sleep walking and bring the Christmas tree and presents upstairs to their parent’s room as their parents are arguing whether or not to wake them up. Will Farrell is known as one of the funniest and best actors in the world. The characters provide enough emotional and humor to the film that keeps the audience laughing.
ESPN’s 30 for 30, Broke, explores the lives of professional athletes who have gone bankrupt or faced financial issues after their careers. Through multiple interviews with retired NFL, NBA, and MLB players, the viewer gets an understanding that money is very powerful when you are a professional athlete. From spending it on jewelry, woman, cars, and houses these athletes did understand that money can dwindle quickly. Not only did these athletes spend on household items but players lost money through gambling, paying agents, and even had issues with paying their own taxes. ESPN does a great job explaining the culture of money from both an athlete’s perspective and a business side.
Long alone keeps you laughing, almost as if your gut is going to bust. Vaughn?s character helps to keep the audience laughing with all of his subtle jokes. For example, when Peter meets up with White, they discuss all of the horribly funny things that Peter did to him.
I have chosen to review the film Boyhood written by Richard Linklater that took twelve years to film. In the movie Boyhood, it illustrates the life of a boy named Mason Jr. through the many stages of his childhood to adolescence to becoming an adult. The movie follows Mason Jr.’s life through his years of kindergarten, middle school, high school, and to college. Through these milestones in his life encounters society with socialization, culture and norms that are exhibited through his family, friends, and others. With factors of social classes, and gender that influence Mason Jr. as he grows and fits into the society that is formed. From the events and milestones in Boyhood, it is able to show human behaviour in society from our
There were many moments where it was expected for the audience to laugh, but they did not. Some weaknesses in the scene were that the actors needed to be more emotionally connected to the scene to make the characters more real and entertaining to watch. No audience member wants to watch a scene where the actors do fully commit. Also, with the election about a month away from the performance date, the political tensions may have been high and less of a laughing matter. Yet, there were some successes as some jokes did receive laughter and the piece was entertaining. There were also no jokes that offended anyone. We stayed inside the lines as we did not want anyone to feel uncomfortable. Language was kept in G rated category as this would not have provided any substance to the work and would have ruined the goal of making this a good-humored scene.
They love "The Office. " They have it memorized. They love that kind of awkward humor” and “Ricky Gervais was able to just capitalize almost on a generational shift with an understanding that so much of the comedy is not in the set up, set up, punchline. There are very few "jokes" on our show. It really is behavior, characters behaving and the reactions to that behavior” (bigthink).
For a start, the basic plot of this movie is pretty much the same as every other family film to be released this decade; the unlikely hero, believe in yourself, follow your dreams, etc, etc.
Language or the way in which words are used is one of the most important components of a comedy. Through an intelligent use of word play and the ability to add
Without the humor of comedians all of our lives would be a living sinkhole of misery and depression; one of the most relieving comedians of our time was Robins Williams. His comedy was very light, but his acting was very heavy. It could range for audiences of all ages, but yet have jokes only those of a certain age could understand. Without the comic humor of Robin Williams we would be stuck in the comical age of the early fifties. In the Movie Patch Adams the belated actor said the following, "What's wrong with death sir? What are we so mortally afraid of? Why can't we treat death with a certain amount of humanity and dignity, and decency, and God forbid, maybe even humor. Death is not the enemy
“The Apartment”, a 1960 American romantic comedy, featuring a simple clue of the key of an apartment, tells a series of stories about a lonely bachelor and his superior officers. The hero, Calvin Clifford Baxter, or Bud, is an office drudge with slender income. In order to mount up the corporate ladder, he exchanges the key of his apartment with several managers for promotion, while the superior go there for numerous extramarital liaisons alternately, which are so boisterous that Bud is mistaken for a playboy. Nevertheless, after encountering his sweetheart, Fran, the heroine, Bud is changing inadvertently and rejects the request of personnel director, Sheldrake, to tryst with Fran at his apartment. It winds up with a happy ending that both leading roles fall in love with each other.
With every intense action scene, you will find that perverse comedy is readily littered. The materials execution is almost more important than the material itself. Vulgar humor makes this movie stand out among the rest. Deadpool has no shortage of memorable comedic
