Goals in Life- Personal Narrative High school is a very important time in a persons life. This is the time to set goals. We not only set goals, but set out to find solutions. My first goal in no particular order is to become a good athlete. My next goal is to be a good student and graduate high school, with a 3.0 GPA. There's a last goal, but I am saving it for later. My goals are simple, but not as easy to accomplish. Athletics are very fun , and may help count towards another goal in life. Sports may be fun, but you need hard work to become good at it. There is a chance that one day I may be able to get a scholarship for college even tough I haven't decided on a sport yet I should have one by the end of the year. Sports take up time, and at some points are hard and my be a burden, but it is all worth it in the end. Becoming an athlete is a goal of mine, but there are goals more important and the next one is. In only having sports and not education it would be like owning a car, but with out an engine inside. I want that engine, therefore I must get my education and maintain a high GPA. I could accomplish this by doing all my work(I am working on this at the time being). Also not only doing my work, but on time and as neat as I can get it (also working on these two at the time being). My goal may also be accomplished by paying attention in class(there are a lot of things to learn that school teaches us), and try to do more listening and less talking. All of this makes a great recipe for at least a 3.0 GPA. Have you ever had to use a combination lock? If you have you know that there are three numbers, well the combination for my success in life is first education, then athletics, and last but definitely not least, going to a four year college. This is the perfect goal in life, besides that fact my two other goals fit right in this category. Sports may help me get an athletic scholarship which may make my parents happier at least financial wise. The next goals education you cant get an athletic scholarship if you don't have the grades.
The story about I Martranika Gross, called changing my life. It all begin with many ideals that I had in mind to become while changing my life so my daughter will fix in. First was continue my education at Strayer University and a journey to follow. Next, becoming a role model with a pathway lay out for my daughter, a showing her not to stay you can’t to become successful. Finally, overcome obstacles first you have to have faith within yourself, and the key word is knowledge.
Determination, the strive to come out on top. The compulsion to reach your goal. For me, failure is not an option. Being adequate is not one either. You either have your game face on or you do not. There is no in between. My goal at the moment is to become a student at the Early College. From then on, I have multiple goals set up
I’ve always been the type of person that truly enjoys athletics and have participated in nearly all sports offered to me. I started playing sports in elementary with club softball and basketball. As I entered my middle and high school years I was able to add the school sanctioned sports to my list of activities. This afforded me the opportunity of competing in volleyball, basketball, golf, track and softball. The camaraderie and life lessons of sports seemed invaluable to me.
I’m a Freshman at Eaton Rapids High School, and I have a lot of goals for these next few years. First off, later this year I am running for class president. I have always wanted to give back and lead my class. Also, next year I want to join the football and baseball teams to get more fit. I have already started to train every day. Later in High school I also hope to get accepted into the National Honor Society.
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
When I was a young girl, my older brother always did very well in school and he and the rest of our family were always very proud of his work. As I grew older and noticed all of my brother’s achievements I decided that I wanted to not only achieve what he had, but to also achieve things that he had not. Because of this strive to reach and surpass the standards that my brother had set, I developed into a person with great determination. Throughout my life I have always set goals for myself and then did everything I could in order to meet those goals. This aspect of determination in my personality has allowed me to get to where I am today, a student of George Mason University. Whenever I am faced with an obstacle, such as a hard class, I make
Although most are focused on getting an education, there is a significant amount of students, known as student-athletes, that are only focused on playing sports. Through
I have been involved with sports my whole life. I have been a student athlete since I was in fifth grade. I played softball, volleyball, and basketball. However, for awhile I was more of an athlete rather than a student. I could perform on the court, but not in the classroom. Not being able to perform in the classroom resulted in my parents removing me from any sport like activities until I was able to get my grades up. However, once I started to get better grades, they allowed me to continue playing sports until I started to veer off into the wrong direction again. When being a student athlete at any level, it is important that you keep the same level of motivation that you have on the court in the classroom. Although playing sports can be a thrill, a majority of student athletes do not play their sport for a career. In theory, it all comes down to getting good grades, getting a degree, and living a successful life.
There are many things that I hope to accomplish and do when I get older. I want to improve and accomplish different things for myself in my career that I choose, in my material goals, and spiritually. I'm looking at the year of 2009, I will be out of college and be on my feet, hopefully. I have high expectations for myself and hope to accomplish as many of my dreams and goals as I can throughout my life.
The next set of goal setting importance is my personal goals with the first being to over come the obstacles associated with returning to school.
Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal's you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to come.
The journey of life follows a predetermined pattern; we evolve from needing influence and guidance to finally reaching that point where our lives are up to us. I consider myself very lucky up to this point in my journey. Some people become sidetracked and wind up on a far different course than initially planned, but the detours I made have only assisted in embellishing the individual instead of devouring it.
There have been tons of things that I have learned and been taught in my life, by a number of people such as family, teachers, or even friends on occasion. The things they taught me vary from math and other related subjects to just some truly simple yet meaningful life lessons. However, there is nothing quite as unique, quite as special as a person teaching themselves a life lesson. It really is an amazing accomplishment for a person to teach themselves something. It is not quite as simple as another person teaching them something because it is not just the transferring of information from one person to another. The person instead has to start from scratch and process the information they have in their mind in order to come up with a new thought
Through sports I get to be more social and make more friends. I get to talk about topics both me and the person I am talking to knows about. I try to play at-least one sport or other activities year around so my brain doesn’t get hardwired to think only academically. I believe a little fun goes a long way when talking about determination. If you are determined enough to shoot 5 hoops in a 5 minute game, then you can definitely write a 5 paragraph essay on wax paper.
Throughout my life, I’ve always had big dreams and goals set for my life just like everyone else. I would constantly daydream and picture myself fulfilling my dreams. But, when the time came to actually plan out how I was going to reach my goal, I couldn’t figure out which path would lead me to my desired future. Every option I would contemplate on doing and try would somehow fail and crumble before my very eyes. After several attempts, I began to question if I was even good enough or qualified enough to go to college. To me, it seemed like the people who had a chance to make it in life were the ones with resourceful parents or the students who were in I.B or in numerous A.P courses. The possibilities of a little Hispanic girl like myself,
