I am writing to express my interest in your Undergraduate Merchandising Summer 2017 internship position. I am confident that my experiences in retail, fashion forecasting, and visual design would correlate well with meeting your requirements.
I am a senior at the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University majoring in Marketing with a minor in Art. With an expected graduation date of December 2017, I am actively pursuing an internship opportunity to leverage my education and experiences.
I have developed strong marketing and visual design skills through my coursework at Georgia State University. I recently received the “2017 Marketing RoundTable Outstanding Minority Student Scholarship” offered by the Georgia State Marketing Department. Both Product Management and Business Communication professors nominated me for the scholarship award.

There I obtained leadership skills through training new jewelry employees on procedures; as well as, customer service skills. As a jewelry consultant, I was responsible for recording diamond inventory counts, assisting customers with their needs, and working as a cashier. As a Designer Relations Summer Intern for LIGHTFAIR International at AmericasMart Atlanta, I had the opportunity to advance my skills with SalesLogix and Edge databases. The majority of my responsibilities were working through customer surveys and spreadsheets relating to tradeshow and conference performance results of the previous year. In addition to, personally contacting over 3,000 attendees and exhibitors located throughout the world and updating their contact information through Saleslogix. I also had the opportunity to volunteer on my days off to help the fashion department with their quarterly fashion shows. Job responsibilities included working backstage with dressing models and returning merchandise to the appropriate exhibitor
Admittance into the University of Georgia’s Honors Program would push me to continually test my potential in the pursuit of my Pre-Medical studies. I take pride in challenging myself to completely master a field of study that enhance my capabilities, and therefore, prepare myself to strive for my next goal in life. In order to grow into a better and improved self, one would need to test unfamiliar waters and reach new heights. The Honors Program ensures this growth by bringing in unaccustomed, rigorous, and beneficial material one cannot simply find in a traditional setting with their head in a textbook. Students are more able to grasp information through exploration and peer discussion which the Honors Program would provide. I believe that
Since my first visit at the Air Force Academy as a young boy, I instantly realized this is where I want to go. Ironically, I never why I wanted to go, was it my parents will or the expectations of others and myself? As I started to mature and grow, I learned more about the academy and what it really meant to become a cadet. The opportunity to have a world class education pushed me to pursue acceptance to the Academy. Going to the Summer Seminar will give me a chance to explore many aspects of cadet life to further enrich my interest in the Academy.
As I mentioned before, I was not sure what to expect going in. It was very overwhelming at first, but I am so glad that I was able to meet with the people that I did. This was especially great for me because I ran into one of my childhood friends who I haven’t seen in many years. She currently works for Acrobatique Creative Branding Boutique, which I was unfamiliar with. She gave me information on what her company was about and some of the opportunities that are available.
Over the course of the summer, I will be interning with Bucks County Community Corrections Center. During this time period I will be working close with the CCO’s (Community Correction Officers), correctional officers, and other parts as well that go into running a correctional facility. This will allow me to gain a quality experience while interning here because this will allow me to see all aspects of the criminal justice system, and the experiences that I attain can help me choose a career path that I enjoy.
Volunteering to do set design is what brought me to doing stage crew which I never thought that I would join. I honestly do not know how my life would be if I never went to that one Saturday morning in the auditorium of the school and got out a roller and began to paint platforms. The smell of paint fumes filling the entire place, trying not to choke on them. Even though it's unpleasant, I adore it.
This reflection paper is divided into five main sections. The first section gives a general introduction of internship that I was doing during my internship period. The second section provides an overview of the internship practice and tasks that I was assigned to do. The third section is about the office technologies I used during the internship. The fourth section is about the benefits of the RCBC Paralegal Program courses taken as applied to the work that I performed. The final section is devoted to the knowledge and experience that I gained during the course of internship.

Over the second half of Semester One of 2016, I have been privileged to work as an Intern at Channel 31. In which time, whilst completing other studies, I have been exposed to various areas of the workplace of a functioning radio station. While mostly dealing in Ingest, the normalising and filing of footage for broadcast, I also dealt in scheduling, production and editing. In this Internship, currently eight weeks in, I have revealed to myself habits and a nature of approaching work I had not experienced previously, however some old tendencies stalled workflow slightly from time to time. Through working at Channel 31 in this internship, I was able to learn about and observe the role of a community television producer.
I am so excited to see what FIDM has for me in the future. When I was 15 years old, I worked in my mom’s clothing boutique and really had a fun experience working there. My job was to help customers out with fitting rooms, helping customers pick out clothes, and working the cashier. It was so good to be able to get that type of experience so young because I kind of got a taste of what the whole fashion world looked like. One thing that was awesome about working there was that i got to learn how to deal with customers even though it was tough sometimes.

My personal interest in the YLCC internship program is driven by the relationship between our national parks and environmental awareness. The national park service protects over 84 million acres and contains some of the wildest places remaining in the United States. These wild places undisturbed by man are much more sensitive to change compared to their developed counterparts. My goal for this internship is to help the park improve its environmental awareness and maintain its cultural significance. Environmental awareness is two-fold: global climate change and resource management.
Interning with First Capital Bank of Texas in Lubbock was a wonderful experience. Going into the internship I was unsure of what to expect and what I would be spending the next two months doing there. During my time there I was able to learn far more than I ever thought, and was able to learn multiple tasks that a credit analyst performs. There were many positive aspects of the work that I enjoyed, but working full time there also revealed things that are not quite appealing to me in a career. Interning as a credit analyst truly helped me understand the banking industry, and helped me to better know what career path I might want to take.
