Worcester, Mass, Sept. 27, 2016. Good morning everyone. I am Patricia Simon, the CEO of Matterhorn Health. Thank you for coming to this press conference today. First of all, we apologize for what happened with our new product, “GlucoGauge” in the last couple months. As you know, GlucoGauge has inaccuracy problems on delivering the level of “hypo” zone to diabetic patients. We realized that inaccurate reading leads to a fatal condition to the patient.

Matterhorn Health R&D team conducted extensive research and pre-release testing for about 3 years before we release GlucoGauge to the market. After conducted a thorough test to the component, we conclude that there is an issue with the new strips, CAP action (CAP). Inaccuracy occurs because the microprocessor sometimes fails read the CAP strip test properly. However, it does not happen when the device is used with the older generation strip technology, such as Master Strip 2.

We take full responsibility for this problem. Through this press release, we encourage the Gluco Gauge user to switch the strip test with Master Strip 2 until we can eliminate inaccuracy issue of CAP action strip test. Therefore, we are going to simultaneously deliver a free 3 month supply of Master Strip 2 test strips. Sadly, we have to say that this decision would impact to our financial and unfortunately we will have to temporary lay-off around 400 employees to cover our budget. Again, we deeply apologize to the consumer who bears the direct impact on this condition. But you have to remember that Matterhorn Health always commits providing the best health device that accurate, easy to use with an affordable price. We put humanity as our business foundation.
