Everyone thinks barrel racing is a boring, girl, rodeoing event. It is not. Barrel racing is a fun, exciting, not just a girls rodeo event. I am going to tell you a story about how barrel racing changed a girl’s life and how she changed the sport of barrel racing. I am going to tell you about Amberley Snyder. She was in an accident and she thought she was never gonna be able to ride her horses again and not even barrel race. But Snyder never gave up. She knew that if she gave up, she would never be happy again. She didn't not gave up. She helped work with her horses to make it so she could ride again. She practiced very hard in order for her to barrel race again. She never gave up. She thought about giving up, but she never gave up. On January …show more content…
The first thing she worried about after she woke up in the hospital was being able to ride again. She had taken riding lessons since she was three. Her dad bought her a Palomino barrel horse when they moved to Utah. She started competing in rodeos when she was seven. Her mom got her into pole bending, barrel racing, and breakaway roping. She did the best in barrel racing. That was her favorite event. She thought that after the accident she would be able to get back on her horses just like she used to. But it wasn’t the same. Her balance was very bad and she could barely stay on. She got so upset that she couldn’t ride anymore that she told her mom to go sell the horses and that she would never see them again. She would not go near them. Then one day she got a phone call for an interview. They asked her to sit on her horse and for them to take a picture for the interview. She decided to give it one more try and her balance was better than it was before. They started working with her some more and they figured out a way for her to ride again. They put straps on her saddle so her legs wouldn't fly everywhere and they also put a seatbelt on her saddle so she would stay in. They also taught the horses to listen to her voice and not her

My fondest childhood memories involve the Livermore Rodeo, and I simply cannot remember a day in my life where I was not completely in love with this great rodeo. The 2nd weekend of June has always been my favorite time of year and from a very early age, I wanted to help in any way I could. My whole day was easily made anytime I was given a task that would allow me to help out the wonderful directors and volunteers I dreamed of being when I grew up. Being apart of the group that makes Livermore Rodeo possible was just about the coolest thing little me could dream of… besides being Miss Livermore Rodeo Queen of course! So I started helping with little tasks like tying bows on silverware for the queen dinner, moving chairs, wrapping hot dogs, and trying to sell tickets to all my friends at school. Then a day came where I was lucky enough to be apart of S.P.U.R.S. I had already know that I wanted to spend the rest of my life helping to keep the sport of rodeo and the western way of life alive, S.P.U.R.S gave me the opportunity to start helping out my most favorite rodeo in greater ways at a younger age. Whether in the spotlight as Miss Livermore Rodeo Queen, or behind the scenes cleaning up after an event on a hot summer day, it was, is , and always will be my honor and my pleasure to serve rodeo in any way I can. If I am chosen as the recipient
Take a look at your car, it probably can only hit eighty on a good day. Following that i'm going to explain how the equipment keeps the drivers and workers safe, finally I will explain how the sport is evolving,
It was a bone-chilling winter morning in Bavaria. My alarm clock rang, and I slapped it to snooze. Oh no, I was not getting up that day. I had just finished the worst school week of my life. If we zoom back to that time two years ago, I was a 14 year old foreign exchange student in southern Germany. Bullying from the kids in school had made my homesickness unbearable. But that’s not all. I eventually became so anxious throughout my exchange that I chewed all the skin around my nails, gained 15 pounds, and finally, had to book my flight back home January 1st.

As a barrel racer, I have gone to a lot of shows and rodeos with my pony. My pony was diagnosed with moon blindness, caused from a bacteria called, leptospirosis, that got into his eyes. As he starts going blind he relies more on me, especially with barrel racing because he has to watch out for the barrels so he can turn tighter and not tip them over, but he can not do that because it is very hard for him to see.

Her body was broken, her neck and legs fractured, though she was still conscious. The pony had only stunned itself but the cart was overturned and its harness tangled, so that it could not move, but lay on the ground whinnying and snorting in fright.
When she went into surgery in St. John’s Medical Center in St. Louis, we were all there and confidant that everything would go as planned. The doctors came out about one hour into the surgery to inform us that the damage was much worse than they initially thought. They told us that they would keep us updated on her progress. Two hours later they came out to tell us that her heart stopped beating and they tried everything they could to revive her, but she had died.
