Background: Food allergies are something that is well known among children and it used to have an impact on the life and health of the affected child in school. This has massively increased and still on the rise. The best food facts (2015) clarifies that the risen of allergies started between the year of 1997 to 2011 and the roughly percentage is 50%. Food allergies have been review that they are very common among in children than adults.
Objective: The intention of this project is to look at the food allergies, how they have changed, the impact of it on a school child health, the provision school gave the child and the way forward for the school: practitioner’s awareness of age (3- 4 years old).

Allergens are any food that is capable of causing an allergic reaction. There are eight foods that cause these reactions (NHS, 2016). However, intolerance symptoms are something that is less serious and often limited to digestive problems (Emerton, 2002). Allergies have enormously increased among children in the past few years.
This will be expanded further in my chapters. In order to demonstrate the meaning of this proposed study, a literature search was conducted. The search terms included in this review will be the key terms taken from the question “Food allergies and the school child”. All the searches in this literature review would be taken from books, through questionnaires, journals, articles and website in order to make sure that the aims of the study are met. The age range of this literature review on the school child would be a three-year-old.
The study sets out to explore food allergies and the school child. In order to gain a true insight into best practice. There is a need to explore on this topic because allergies are very common among children. As some parents worry about how their child with a food allergy will be cared for outside the home by other people (Johnson, 2010). For example, checking the label of the food before offer it to the child and see if the food is safe for a school child with allergies. This will also help to determine whether to give the food or not. The project will also help to reduce the anxiety and concern parent have about their child with food allergies in school (Coss, 2004).
As a practitioner to be in early years I will gain a greater understanding of how to develop relevant care effectively to support a child with food allergies. The knowledge gain from this project will be useful not only for the child with an allergy, but for me and with other children that might have allergies later in future while at school, nursery or other children’s care settings (Trone and Acebal , 2011).
The project will also support better knowledge and understanding of the impact of food allergies for me and for others who are working with children age three years old in early years setting (Grix, 2010). The project raises awareness, roles and responsibilities of staff so that they will know the right thing to do if there is case age of allergies and ensure the smooth running of the
