The fitness assessment showed that I am mostly average. My body max index was healthy, and I was below the population average. Normally being below the average doesn't mean it is good but with BMI it is. With the rest of my assessments I was above the average. I felt that I was a little low on my scores for the push-up test, the sit-up test and the sit and reach. My goal was to be more than average. My score for my walk test was good and I wasn't disappointed with it. I was happy with my walk test results. I obtained a score of 84 and I was expending a little over 12 METs. In my opinion, I feel like I walk at a faster pace when I am not on a treadmill. On an average day on the treadmill, I walk a mile in about eighteen minutes. On the track …show more content…
I thought my flexibility was more than it was. I was still above average, and it scored second highest, but I still believed I was more flexible. My average flexibility most likely comes from me not stretching. I have never thought much of stretching and feel like it is a waste of time. Overall, I could use improvement. I went into the assessments thinking I was above average and I was really fit and healthy for the most part. These tests were an eye opener. My results show I am better than most, but I definitely have room for improvement. An easy fix to improving my sit and reach results would be stretching more frequently. As of now, I only stretch when my muscles are little more sore than normal. Some stretches I could do would be bending over and touching my toes and eventually the floor. Deadlifts would be another beneficial move to improve my flexibility in my hamstrings. To improve my run/walk test results I will have to put in more effort into running and gaining more speed. There are a couple ways I hope to accomplish this. I want to do more interval training. Sprinting for a certain amount of time and then resting for a short time and continuing that process for a certain amount of time. I also want to incorporate hills in my running to help with my
We see that the estimated VO2 max for the treadmill is slightly higher than that of the arm bike. This happens because walking is something she does more regularly, and estimated VO2 max scores are higher2 in tests with modes of exercise the subject is more use to.

Our table is dismissed. I head back to gym with a full stomach, something that shouldn’t happen. Third block is the lunch block and the eighth grade special block. This shouldn’t happen and as principle the first change that would be in immediate effect would amend the schedule to be specials during first, second, and fourth block. This will cause improvements in health with gym being at least an hour away from lunch for the eighth grade; dietary habits considering people eat as minimal food as possible to preserve their stomach, and enthusiasm because students will see any change to the current schedule as a robust change. In addition, I would change the current format of the schedule. Extend math and English to 3 hour classes, but on an
Athletic Trainers play a crucial part in today’s professional sports. They also help on lower levels of sports in high school, and college level teams. The job of an athletic trainer is simple yet very important, they are charged with treating, and preventing injuries. A trainer does this by developing therapies to reduce pain, and improve mobility (“Athletic Trainer Salaries”). They have to stand for long periods of time, work well with athletes of different sizes, move or carry equipment around, good mobility and communication skills to give instructions (“Athletic Trainer, Healthcare Program”). These trainers serve as a crucial part of an athlete getting back into their sport. Athletic trainers usually work under the direction of a physician, so they are like the Doctor’s healing hands in action.

I believe that fitness has a greater impact on you mentally than it does physically. Fitness releases chemicals that cause you to feel better instantaneously, improving mood for 24 hours. Fitness makes you more confident and improves your self-esteem, key for ridding anxiety and depression. Fitness makes you set goals for yourself, motivating you to improve yourself everyday. It gives you a boost of energy after, making you feel like you can conquer the world, or to just do your homework.
Advantage of the sit and reach test - It is a quick and easy way of measuring flexibility, IT is commonly used to test flexibility so therefore there is a lot of published data that can be used to compare results . Disadvantage of the sit and reach test - Every individual has different arm, leg and trunk length, this can make comparing results deceiving. This test only measures a range of muscles and their motion and joint rotation of the lower back and hamstrings so is irrelevant for other parts of the body. This test also requires specialized equipment which will cost money.

Information When you think of a person who is physically fit you probably think of a sprinter, gymnast, weightlifter, football player, or basketball player. There is so much to physical fitness besides being one of those people. Regular aerobic exercise can help you live longer and healthier. After all, aerobic exercise reduces health risks, keeps excess pounds at bay, strengthens your heart and boosts your mood.

This program was designed to ensure that people get enough physical activity daily. It is equal to 5 miles per day or 8 kilometers and is considered a benchmark for healthy living. This target was recommended by the US Surgeon General and the UK Department of health. Start slowly and gradually work up till you reach the daily target of 10 000 steps. Starting slowly helps your body to adapt and avoid injury. It is advisable to consult a doctor in case of any problems. Also it is good to a pedometer.
