First Impressions

They say that in the first 20 seconds of meeting someone, you have already made a first impression. Many people judge other individuals based on appearance. First impressions are really not set in stone and can be changed because people can change, and it could've been your attitude.

You can't judge a person by the way they look because that has nothing to do with their personality. For example, in Forrest Gump, almost everybody in his town judged or bullied him because of his mental and physical disabilities as a child. Later on in his life, he becomes an American Icon. He meets the President(twice), wins the gold medal in the Olympics, joins the army, saves his lieutenant, and much more. The same kid that almost everyone bullied, became the man that almost everyone admired. Granted not everyone is gonna be a "Forrest Gump", but you never know unless you give them a second chance.

The attitude you're in while meeting someone can drastically change how you see them.

In World War Two, Germany was in need of a leader. The Nazi's and the citizens were looking for someone to follow, and Adolf Hitler came along giving these powerful, motivational, and uplifting speeches. Everyone thought that he was the best and only person to follow. The Nazi's and the germanic ppeople probably didn't think that what they were doing was wrong. They probably believed that it was the best and most logical choice in order to win the World War. Adolf Hitler, although he was a horrible dictator, was one of the best leaders there ever was. He made the germanic people believe that the genocide of millions of people was necessary to create a perfect world. At first, most of Germany adored him, now everyone despises him. Sure not every person you meet is Hitler, but if you look at the person with a different attitude, it's more than likely to

change.

First impressions should not determine the way you look at someone for the rest of their life because people can change and it could've been your attitude. A person's appearance should never determine how you look at them and it would be best to give a first impression in an unbiased way. You should never make a first impression solely on their appearance and/or because of the mood you're in.
