Dear Office of Financial Aid,
My name is Daisy Casillas and I am writing this letter to request the reinstating of my financial aid. In the summer of 2014, I began my studies at Calhoun Community College as a recent high school graduate attempting 13 credit hours. During this time I was facing many hardships, not only was I not mentally prepared for college, I was also facing many financial problems. No one in my household was employed and our only assistance was from food banks. We often struggled without reliable transportation that led to great amounts of stress, not only for me but for those around me. I found it difficult to complete courses which led to withdraws and failing a course due to the overwhelming circumstances.
I allowed my

I will set a time and place to study and complete assignments.
3. I will communicate with instructors on how to do well in class.
4. I will attend school part-time and pay full attention in each class.
5. I will take advantage of everything college has to offer such as advising and tutoring.
I desire to earn a degree in Criminal Justice to aid the lives of others because I understand how important it is to help others in their time of need. I appreciate the opportunity to attend Calhoun Community College and I apologize for the lack of attention in my previous studies. Learning from my previous mistakes, I hope to continue my education but without financial aid I will be unable to attend college and make my dreams a reality. I would like another chance to take advantage of all the great things college has to offer and be the responsible, determined, hardworking college student that is able to maintain the academic requirements for the fall 2015 semester. Please take this letter into consideration while reviewing my financial aid eligibility and thank you for regarding my appeal asking to have my financial aid reinstated. My education is important to me and I hope to have another chance to continue my education and improve my future. Thank you for your
I have attached my Howard University Freshman Scholarship (HUFS) appeal with this letter for your
My name is Kaha Salad and I am appealing my Satisfactory Academic Progress suspension. Autumn semester of 2013 was a difficult time for me, I was going through many different changes in my life and I just didn’t know how to adapt. I experienced a personal event in the summer of 2013 that made my life change forever. My Grandmother Khadija died, she was the light of my family’s lives. My mother was immensely affected by her death, she went into a state of depression and she then stopped working. I took it upon myself to help out my grieving mother and get a job to help pay with the bills that was piling up. I began working
My name is Valorie M Altamirano, and I am a Central Arizona College graduate with an Associate degree in Fire Science Technology. Unfortunately, my degree does not meet the liberal study requirements to seek a Bachelor's degree. In order to achieve my goals, it is necessary that I complete seven General Study courses. The hold-up for continuing my education is unemployment, ineligibility for a Pell grant and a hold for a $252 charge that will prevent future
In closing, college will be a great opportunity for me to create lifelong memories and friends. College will not only set me on the path of success, but will also inspire other people and maybe even my future kids to get a college
Also, I would participate in loads of extra-curricular activities, especially athletics. Playing on the basketball team for Baylor University would be a dream come true. Most of the extra-curricular activities will help me develop adequate social skills, which would help me in achieving my overall
I am writing this appeal letter, because I have received a letter saying that I am eligible to attend the University of Wisconsin La Crosse anymore due to my academic standing. I wish, and hope that you may reconsider. I have been attending this college for two years now, hoping to go on my third. And I would love to say that I enjoy this community very much and that I wish to stay. I wish to grow better as a student and as a member of the college community. Here in this college I am currently a leader of InterVarsity, a Christian organization on campus, and have been active in HOPE, a Hmong organization on campus. Although I have been active within the college community and have been success at it, I have failed towards being a student.
I am writing today to appeal my academic probation status so that I may continue receiving the Pell Grant for my studies. I have had an obvious stumble in my beginnings with FAU but I am certain that with steps I've taken this summer I will be back on track to a good academic standing while completing my bachelor's degree. After withdrawing from two classes this past spring I dropped below the 67% required completion rate. Despite this, I persisted and paid for a summer class myself. I also withdrew from this second-attempt class.
In the spring of 2012 I enrolled at Central Ohio Technical College. I really enjoyed being in school the first quarter. When the summer quarter started my father’s condition started to change. He began screaming loudly and he would scream from night until morning and all during the day. It got to the point where I could not study, I could not sleep and the stress of the situation overwhelmed me. The change in his behavior came suddenly and it is the reason why I withdrew from school in the summer of 2012. I was so discouraged by what happened that I did not handle the withdrawal process very well. I am sorry for that, and wish I could do it over. Part of my father’s illness is paranoia which causes him to not trust. Also, he does not like it when people say his ill. Approaching him for help in this situation is not an option. So finding proper documentation is almost impossible because his information cannot be released without his consent. However, I was able to find discharge papers from when he was released from twin valley behavioral hospital in April of this
Criminal Justice is acknowledged as the study of crime and criminals. Although it 's not everybody’s first choice, before college I had always found this major genuinely appealing. However, in the beginning, it wasn’t something that I preferred to major in. When I started to consider attending college, at first I wasn’t interested in furthering my education. I used to contemplate about being an Au Pair in different countries, at another time I desired to become a baker. I didn’t honestly notice the point of continuing school when I become bored with classes as a result of nothing appealed to me. It wasn’t until after I had taken a CSI class that my high school offered, I became further interested in criminal justice. I finally had found a class that kept my attention the entire time and gave me the opportunity to have a job that will make a difference. Not having yet
It is because of my ambition that I decided to pursue a post-secondary education. My family has had many obstacles to overcome due to their troubling backgrounds. My father is from Iraq, a war-torn country, and my mother is an aboriginal who experienced the tortures of residential schools. Both my parents went through many unjust events throughout their lives, and that is one of the many reasons I decided to study the field of law, to bring justice to those who are in need of it. Please also answer the following questions in your letter, they are for Indspire research purposes.
I have continued to show progression since through my enrollment at North Eastern Technical College in 2014 along with Greenville Technical College this year. I took advantage of online courses these colleges had to offer. I’ve committed myself to these positive avenues in order be able to maintain a productive lifestyle upon release and appeal to the parole board until then. Although I respect the professional decisions of the parole board, I feel as if there was an error in the reasoning of me being denied parole at my last hearing. The explanation offered as why I was denied parole was due to the seriousness of my offense and my prior delinquent history. I feel as if this explanation should be null and void considering that I’ve maxed out for my current offense. I have already served the time for my previous
From my college experience, I hope to gain many things. Obviously college is a time that students can truly become individuals. When I attend college I will have the opportunity to become more independent and to take on new responsibilities. I have always relied on my parents for support, but at college I will be on my own and will have to push myself harder. This will help me to become more mature and will help me grow in character. I have long awaited for the time to be independent and now is the time that I shall prove myself.
To do that, I’ve decided to set some objectives. My most prioritized goal is to attend a four year university, preferably in the state of California. I’d say the biggest factor in my determination to get to college is my desire for a successful career in something I love. Furthermore, neither of my parents went to college and I perceive the action of becoming a first generation college student as an exciting new challenge. Lastly, I know that with a college education I will be able to use my newfound wisdom to serve my community.
First, I will graduate the high school with 26 credits and above average grades well starting at the second quarter of course. Also I will try to get in law enforcement in the career center so I could get some experience and will look more suitable on my application. By senior year I will be saddled up for collage. Once high school is over I’m off to University of Georgia (UG)
My intense passion for learning has shifted my life in a new and positive direction. I feel that my personal experiences and challenges have served as a basis for growth and preparation for a life of helping others. This is why I have worked so hard to complete my undergraduate education despite my many responsibilities. I believe that this makes me a great candidate for this program. I am a diligent and attentive person who deeply cares for others in need. I feel that everything that has brought me to where I am today has shaped my life and will make me a great social worker. I want to thank you very much for considering my application for the master of social work program.
