Description
My final week at the antenatal clinic was quite interactive with the patients this week, form education, to head to toe assessment and even assessment of the fundus. The patient is 26-year-old G3P2, C.N is 38 weeks & 3 days into her pregnancy; who been having contractions for the past two weeks. Upon assessment C.N fundus height (41cm) was higher than her gestational age; due to this, the Nurse Jeffrey recommended her to see the doctor.
Feeling
I felt quite marvelous today, because of the opportunity of assisting the nurse. I felt the baby’s head in gage at the cervix and use A Pinard horn, also known as a fetoscope to listen to the fetal heartbeat.
Evaluation
During the education of the patient with the help of Nurse Jeffrey,
The Bishop score is a pelvic scoring system developed to make it easier to determine whether a multiparous woman was a suitable candidate for induction of pregnancy. Although the information in the Bishop score was known by many obstetricians for many years, Edward H. bishop is credited because he pulled the pieces together and formed an organized system accompanied by research and statistics to back up his findings. His paper is called the “Pelvic Scoring for Elective Induction”. In this paper, Bishop describes basic minimal requirements that must be met before any patient can be considered for elective induction of labor (1964).

Time sure does fly; in the blink of an eye, yet another 7.5-week class has come and gone. Just like life, it is scary to think that in just a few short years I will be graduating college and be in search of a future career. The magnitudes of readings, assignments, PowerPoint lectures, and videos have all contributed to the valuable knowledge I have gained since taking this course. Nothing that was presented or required was seen as invaluable towards my progression of career development. This career development course has allowed me to do some self-exploration, career research, and help me understand what influencing factors were related to the job market. Ultimately, this class helped me gauge and find a suitable career path, which will forever shape my future.
The nuchal translucency measured 1.5 mm. The nasal bone was suboptimal due to fetal positioning. I first counseled Bethanie on FTS. After appropriate counseling based on her age bas4ed risks she declined any further screening due to a reassuring
She is 10 4/7 weeks by dates and the crown-rump length measurement is concordant. The nuchal translucency measurement is thickened at 3.1 mm and the fetal heart rate is unusual, in that it runs at about 70 bpm but there are episodes of bigeminy with it. It is too early to do any type of cardiac evaluation, but this heart rate is unusual, especially with good fetal movement seen at the fetal pole. The ductal flow was normal but due to position the nasal bone could not be adequately
Today was my second day on labor and delivery. When Grace and I first arrived, we were sent to change. After Grace and I changed into our scrubs, we went to the front desk to receive our tasks. A registered nurse (RN) asked us if we would like to see a vaginal birth or a caesarean section (c-section). I choose to watch a c-section, and Grace decided to observe a vaginal birth. Once we decided on who would do what, we went our separate ways.
Over the recent four months in Communication 1402 class, I have addressed three formal speechs and completed a number of chapters in the corresponding textbook “Communication Works”. This course of Communication aims to provide general information what public speaking is and how to address a public speaking. Recalling back the experience during the processes of completing the Speech to Imform, Speech to Persuade, and Group Presentation, I will draw a conclusion about this course and these three presentations in five aspects, comprising my previous perception of public speaking before this course; learning from the Speech to Inform; the goal and evaluation of Speech to Persuade; learning from the Group Presentation; the most important thing learned from this course.
She has presented to ANC at 37+4 weeks with no new concerns although pt has expressed desire for VBAC. She has been advised about its contraindication and risks involved. She was disappointed but understands the safety issues and agreed to another elective caesarean section. Her antepartum course has been without any complication or abnormal investigation finding. The plan is to request to bring her elective caesarean section forward to 39 weeks. She is to be follow up at ANC in one
During this class, there have been many influencing factors that are associated with my career development. Both environmental and external factors have impacted my career development in various ways. The first would be that I am limited to the amount and type of work I am able to perform because I am only a college student. Obviously, a company is not going to be paying me for a salary position when I am only available to work twenty or so hours a week. I am also limited as to what type of work I can do because I do not have a lengthy list of work history. Where I live also constrains my abilities to work elsewhere as well because I have decided to go to a four-year university in Tempe and traveling to the other side of the valley everyday is just not feasible. That does not give me a lot of mobility, just because there are not enough hours in a day. Future external factors that I could foresee influencing my career choices would be where I end up deciding to live, whether it is an apartment or the purchase of my first house. An apartment would give me a little more maneuverability than a house because it would be easier to break an apartment lease than a home mortgage. Having a family of my own in the next ten or so years could also drastically alter my future career decisions. Depending on the circumstances, I might have to forego my dream job and get one or two part time jobs just to support my new family. Each year as I get older, I gain more and more experience both in life and in the workplace, which can make me a more desirable worker to a potential employer. However, there comes a point in time in every ones life where that becomes untrue. For example, my parents are both in their mid 50’s and say all...
An aspect of women’s health is Obstetric Fistula, this is a serious medical condition in which a Fistula (hole) develops in the birth canal, either between the rectum and the vagina or between the bladder and the vagina. It is caused by a prolonged labour that presses the unborn baby so tightly in the birth canal that blood flow is cut off from surrounding tissues, and where there has been no medical intervention. This usually occurs in young, thin girls in communities in Africa, Asia and Arabia. At least 2million women in these regions are currently living with the condition. And approximately 50,000 to 100,000 new cases develop each year. This persistence of Fistula shows that health systems are failing to meet the needs of women. A 1993 study in Nigeria found that 55% of sufferers of this condition were under the age of 19, and 94% gave birth at home or in poorly equipped local clinics, this shows due to a lack of health care facilities, a women will not be able to receive a Caesarean Section if she encounters difficulty giving birth.
This class has been significantly more difficult than any other English class I have taken all throughout high school. This semester, I have been introduced to different styles of writing that I have never been exposed to before. This class has been stressful, but also fun. With using all of the resources I have been given throughout the semester, I have been able to do my best to further my writing abilities and hopefully only continue to grow them as I finish my later years in college. Throughout this essay, I will discuss my failures, my successes, my overall performance in the class, and my skill development skills.
During that time, my urine output was very low on the second day. The doctor concluded that my kidney will failure soon. Therefore, they ask an assistant to assist my kidney situation. On that morning, Dr. Jenny had come to visit me. I have told her, I feel less energy and uncomfortable at the caesarian area.
The semester has changed the way people, including myself, saw their majors in a way I did not expect. Mostly, I noticed that a lot of people who started this semester really confident about what to expect were really surprised and slacked off later in the semester than those who came in with an open mind. Earlier in the semester, I really had been doubting my choice of architecture as a major. I had especially been feeling constricted as a lot of the things I am also interested in have little to do with architecture.
I had learnt a lot of things in the way to build the kit for my demonstration for my teaching and learning process for Language Arts subject by using song in the primary ESL classroom during the PBS (School-Based Experience) and also for my presentation of my lesson plan in my class.
Child Birth can be a beautiful, yet unimaginable experience any mother and family member can encounter. It is a process of emotional and social involvements that make-up a natural human being. The familiarity of childbirth can play an important role in life for every individual, especially the mothers who are in labor or in delivery. Each moment during labor will become memories for the mothers to share with their grown up child in the future. Childbirth is a breath taking experience that can change someone’s life forever. The process of childbirth does not occur in a blink of an eye; in fact, it is more of a procedure that may take a few steps. Some mothers during labor, experience a severe amount of pain that medication can control and some
