I have the privilege of doing my field study at an amazing but unique agency. I enjoy the time I spend at this agency, and every day I try my outmost best to learn something new. The knowledge that I am inquiring will assist me in my future career as a Public Health Promotion Specialist. I have to admit that the most satisfying experience of this field placement is being in an actual organization and applying all the theoretical knowledge that I have learned over the years. For example, I was able to witness how an actual evaluation was being conducted through the use of a survey.
The most challenging experience of my field study had to do with the commute to this agency and to be reenergized enough to attend my regular classes. Although it

I also learned how to do the billing for the services that we offered to the clients. The Ryan White Foundation a certain amount of money annually to be spent on services the offer to the client. Billing is one of the ways that the agency shows who it spend the money. At the end of the financial year the goal is to have the money a zero balance in the account of the agency. There is a system called CHARMS where the case manager bills for the services they offer the client. The people who do the accounting and auditing can see firsthand how these monies are being
They specifically define case management as “…a collaborative process of assessment, planning, facilitation, care coordination, evaluation, and advocacy for options and services to meet an individual’s and family’s health needs through communication and available resources to promote quality, cost-effective outcomes,” (Case Management Society of America). Established to formulate a plan that allows a patient to navigate the healthcare system smoothly, case managers coordinate between the patient, their family members, the healthcare team, insurance companies, communities and many others (Moreo). Chris Gibbard, a case manager at Avista Adventist Hospital, said that the priority is to reduce their patients’ amount of time that they spend in the hospital and to work as their advocate on the hospital side of the situation. The key is to focus on the whole person and the delivery of care. The roles and functions of a case manager go well beyond meeting the hospitals requirements and goals and delve deeper into truly working for their client’s
Case management has become the standard method of managing health care delivery systems today. In recent decades, case management has become widespread throughout healthcare areas, professionals, and models in the United States; and it has been extended to a wide range of clients (Park & Huber, 2009). The primary goal of case management is to deliver quality care to patients in the most cost effective approach by managing human and material resources. My understanding of case management comes from an accumulation of lecture, readings, and a little bit of research. At first I thought case management meant to manage a case, which it kind of does, but it is a lot of background work that goes unnoticed from the workers part. One thing for sure I can say about case management is that is a very stressful and demanding job for the worker, therefore, you have to be a responsible worker, so that your client can hopefully get the services and resources he or she may need. As a case management worker your responsibilities are many, for example you are to educate, empower and enable your client to be self sufficient.

Moreover, Public Health is a challenging, diverse and dynamic field. My philosophy of health is very simple, to prevent, improve and educate the lives of individuals, families, communities and the population. Besides, there is no safer way to touch people’s lives than through public
Case studies are a collection of data obtained using various methods gathered on an individual or group to record areas of interest in order to assist with analysis and provide recommendations. The study should include the name of the person, although this should be protected to provide anonymity where appropriate, and a brief description of the subject. The setting where the study is to be performed should be included. The aim of the observation must be presented along with a report of the findings. The type of method used will depend upon the subject and the area of interest. Data is gathered on the subject in this case observations were used to provide the data. An interpretation of the study will be made in order to provide a conclusion and recommendations made if applicable. Freud famously used the case studies that he carried out on his patients to develop his Psychoanalytic Theory.
