I personally believe that goal is a first step to achieve success in life. Everyone set some goals to achieve maximum result about life. Goals create laser focus. So, people can know what exactly want from their life and where they should spend more time and energy. Goals make people more accountable as well as it motivates the people and it gives people something to strive for. I confirmed my field placement same as the previous one at Prime Care Physiotherapy clinic. I worked over here in my 3rd semester. It was really a nice experience. As a physiotherapist I wanted to gain more and more experience, that is why I choose the same place for my placement. I want to improve my self-confidence, interpersonal skills. As a physiotherapist, I should have an ability to make proper decision about what type of methods or treatment plane can give better, effective and long-lasting effect to my patient. Also, I should have proper management skill to work in a team. As a therapist, If I want to treat same conditions of the patient in a group, I should have a skill or knowledge about how can I manage or handle the whole group. I also had an experience to work in a team. I was working in a physiotherapy center, where about 12 other therapists were working with me. Some of was my senior and some of was my junior. From both my colleagues, I was able to discuss some problems related to my patient’s conditions and I can get idea or solutions about them. In this way I can enhance my network with different colleagues in physiotherapy field.
3) Patience, Time - management, Respect and Trust: According to me, as a successful person should have all these qualities. In physiotherapy field, it requires patience and time management. We have to treat the patients without medicines. It requires patience and trust for both of them. With the exercises we can bring better and long-lasting results for the patient, but it needs to keep more patience and trust on the therapist in every condition. From starting, time management is more important. Physiotherapy need to make proper
For as long as I could remember, I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the field of physical therapy. Everything about the human body is captivating from the way it works to its powerful ability to heal itself. To many people, the field of physical therapy involves using exercise to aid in the restoration of physical function in patients, but to me, it means so much more. One reason as to why the field of physical therapy peeked my interests is because it combines my keen curiosity for the human body and all its fascinating capabilities, physical exercise and the compassion to help others. In recent years, several events occurred that have helped inspire me to become a physical therapist.
Early rehabilitation in the ward is safe and associated with several benefits, including improvements in muscle strength, functional mobility and quality of life. An early rehabilitation program may reduce hospital costs and hospital length of stay, and decreased hospital re admissions. The importance of self-care concept is related to human's need for maintaining and promoting health and recovery, lack of health care services, inadequate access to health services for the whole community, and increased expenditure of health care services.(Asadi Noghabi AA, Zandi M, Mehran A, Alavian SM, Dehkordi AH.,2010)).Self-care activities alleviate symptoms and
Becoming a physical therapist requires not just physical ability, but adaptability. Physical therapists work with every individual regardless of race, gender and age (Physical Therapist 140). One thing a physical therapist should be aware of is that not all patients are the same. The physical therapist must adjust differently with every patient depending on how they are most comfortable. When becoming a physical therapist, one must be patient with his or her patient and must be willing to help them with their situation (Physical Therapist 141). People who get frustrated easily or do not like helping people
From a young age I was interested in the medical field. As I became more exposed to the various options, I decided physical therapy was the right career for me. My experience has proved the field to be interesting and fun. I enjoy working with people and the versatility of therapy. There are many areas to specialize in and I look forward to learning which one is right for me. At the moment I am interested in pediatric acute care but I am also interested in sports and orthopedics. As I continue my studies, I look forward to learning about the different fields in which physical therapy will take me. My future views may change which physical therapy field I wish to pursue, but right now I look forward to learning as much as I can about physical therapy and helping others.
For instance, a client came to hospital with complaints of pain over all the joint and stiffness which mostly in the morning and reduces by physical activities. Client was able to do activities of daily living (ADL) by herself but the way she performed and posture she used was making her prone to develop complication of diseases. By applying the Orem’s theory of self care deficit, nurses can support the client by providing passive exercises as well as to improve her joint mobility. Besides that, nurses also teach the family members the limitation in activity level the client has and cooperation required. Next, nurses may also initiate pain relieving measures such as medication and physical therapy always before client go for any activities of daily living. Last but not least, nurses may promoting developmental environment by teach the family members and help them to practice how to help client related to her
Zoe is a very great attentive student. She is a student whoholds a lot of valuable pronciples from her Haitian-Cuabn culture. The monment she enters the building she greets people with respect. She always says good morning and refers to all staff and her peers by their name. Zoe always comes to school in a positive attitude. I have yet to see her upset which allows me to believe she is good in toning her emotions or personal life outside of school grounds. Outside of school she is always busy between homework, family and tutoring at the SCO Family Services program in Downtown, Brooklyn. By the end of her long day she is exhausted but yet a smile is always on her face giving no sinces of anger or worries.if I was to describe Zoe’s emotional tone or color it would be lavender. She is calm, soothing to me around but ye keps firm.she had a bright future a head of her. Between the classes I have observed her in she is always energetic, cheerful and strong minded. She is excited in theatre class showing off her acting skills and in Spanish class she is attentive when doing her Spanish class work.
...ve an accident to recovery from an injury. I would like to help these patients and see how they have progress throughout the treatment. I discovered from this health field that to be a physical therapist is very important because you have to deal not only with patients but also with different equipment that are required for some treatments. Also, Physical Therapy is a lifelong learning career. Every day we have change in
I have developed a newfound confidence in myself that kills and professional competency. My interactions with patients and assertiveness in myself and to carry out a professional discussion and interventions. enhanced not only his communicative skills but as well as immediate reporting, analytical skills and extensive knowledge of the internal and external workplace. I have developed a successful rapport with patients, staff and external personnel. I once carried this apprehension and nervousness in patient interactions,
I am very much interested in pursuing a career in Physiotherapy and the abundance of skills I accumulated at CBI Danforth, consequently, will act as a tremendous foundation for me during my undergraduate studies. To provide some insight on some of my future plans, I am looking towards either studying at McMaster University in their renowned Health Sciences program, or pursuing earning a Bachelor of Kinesiology in any of the top Universities in Ontario such as Queen’s University, University of Toronto, and Western University. With the concepts I have learned on the human body through the Netter’s Anatomy cards you gave me access to, in conjunction with the continuous reading I did on Biomechanics, and the many opportunities I had to shadow, I look forward to applying them to whatever school and program I am situated at in the near future. In addition, with the post-secondary advice, and your own personal stories; you along with the other staff at CBI Danforth have definitely helped me mould out a plan in regards to my future career. I am defiantly far more aware of how extensive and competitive it is to actually become a Physiotherapist, and I also learned that, when it comes to careers related to the human body, you can never stop learning, and you must be able to adapt and adjust to the new advancements that are being made. With that

, “It is important to note that poor interprofessional collaboration can have a negative impact on the quality of patient care.” By keeping everyone together, I could help prevent this. I am a firm believer in hands off management. I think staff preforms better when they are not pressured to preform under surveillance. I believe a management skill I would employ would be simply keeping everyone on task.
The identity of a physical therapist is essentially an expert in movement. In order to optimize patient movement, a strong foundation of biomechanical knowledge is required. In order to ensure that I build a strong knowledge base, I will put forth my best efforts into all of my course work. Although book knowledge is important to have, practical knowledge can be considered to be of slightly greater value in certain cases.2 For instance, it is more valuable to have performed and experienced a patient care technique, than only to have read about it. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of
Being able to have worked with numerous patient with a variety of diagnosis help me learn more about how to time manage and develop communication skill. Learning hands on was a great experience to gather information from patients and the physical therapist (PT)/ Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). When assisting patients through their workout, I was able analyze man of the muscle that were be used and became more focus on the form and movement. Watching the PT and PTA come up with exercises of their own shows the there have to be a lot creative thinking which I have gained along the way. For the first time I actually experience the use of resistance bands and how effective they are compare to free weights and machines.
