Student-centered learning environment (describe the learning environment, specifically safety, organization, inclusion efforts, and collaboration) The main student-centered learning environment I was placed in was a science lab dominated by marine science. There were many precautions used in the lab with goggles, student pairing, and lab procedures. The lab was organized so it is centered toward the teacher so when instruction and labs are taking place there is full attention on the teacher. All assignments are organized and labeled in the back for an efficient way to turn in work. The inclusion efforts placed into the class I observed way that they were all magnet students, so it allowed the teacher to perform critical thinking tasks and projects that were advanced. An example of this would be the dissection the students do yearly when they are a magnet student. In the environment collaboration, there was an instance between the teacher inside the department and with the students. The departmental teachers helped the teacher I observed perform the dissection because he couldn’t handle the chemicals being used. They helped solved the problem by switching the classes so my teacher could teach the other departmental teachers students while she was with his students to do the dissection. Collaboration took place with the students where they were asked what they should put into place that interested them such as; activities, field trips, and projects. This provides the students with knowledge they are learning that is fun and exciting while they are still in a learning environment.

The second professional goal is to develop a simple way or strategy to cement a good style of classroom management. Classroom management is key, so if it is set into place in the early stages it will result in a successful classroom and provide a better learning environment for the students. My last professional goal is to become an expert in the field I am teaching to be as highly qualified as I can be. It will allow me to create a schedule and curriculum to get the students as much knowledge as possible. My professional goals are centered on making the best learning experience for the students because they deserve to be taught content that is vital to how successful they will be in the future.
Implementations of a students-centered learning environment, in my classroom this step occurs within cooperative and collaborative group work. This strategy has worked for me over the years, reinforcing and developing a strong student-to- student and instructor-to-students relationships, at the same time establish an honest and sincere communications in my classroom.
As I carry on my studies in Elementary Education, The field experience assignment has been a learning and growing experience for me. This semester I did five hours in a physical education class and during my experience I learned a lot. As I spoke to the Physical Education teacher Ms. Hines, she informed me that this school year was a tough year for her. From all her classes she had two classes were a couple of kids who had disabilities and the rest of the students were only Spanish speakers. The teacher only spoke English, which caused some difficulties describing her lesson of the day to her students.
Goals are set for teachers. Teachers know what areas they have to teach and all students are learning the same material.
My main field experience this semester was in Ms. Schreyer's third grade math class at Trinity South. I was in the classroom on Tuesdays from 8:30 to 12:00 and Thursdays from 10:30 to 2:00. When in Ms. Schreyer's class, I observed two different groups of students because of the way the class rotations work. The first group that I observed is Ms. Schreyer's homeroom. There are 17 students in her homeroom class, and four of them have IEPs for either learning support or emotional support. On Tuesdays I arrived as the students arrived, so I was able to see the morning routine. The field experience report identifies some of the strategies learned, some observations that were made, and also includes research-based information studied in this course. I feel that this field experience innovative, highly informational, and it taught many strategies. In my first years of teaching I plan to get a better understanding of my school community and the surrounding community, so I know where and how to get support for my students. In conclusion, us teachers must find ways to reach the minds of every individual by allowing them to express themselves and understand every lesson taught. My goal as a teacher is to provide to in each and every student with the necessary skills and knowledge so they could succeed on their own. I want to leave a memory of myself as a teacher who was not afraid to roll up the sleeves to help another student in any way and influenced others to do the right thing. My colleagues recall me a teacher who regularly participates and who was active to contribute assistance to the school community.
The evaluation document is a representation of my present teaching ability, and the target areas that I will improve on. I taught the Hooke’s lab investigation, so I grouped students in pairs and had them work in their lab stations. Given the lab stations set up–in aisles–, I decided to have three groups of students work on each side of the aisles; however, the aisles were narrow and the students barely had space to move through them. I did not ask the students to move to other areas of the classroom to prevent losing their focus, but this is something I will be more cautious about in the future. I have to provide a safe classroom environment that allows students to have ample space to work in, so I will verify that I provide the needed space in future classes. I originally thought that proximity would enable adjacent groups to discuss their findings with each other, but even I had a hard time walking through the aisles to reach struggling groups.
...I believe through the use of critical thinking, communication with students and parents and showing the creative side of learning the collaboration within colleague would be enhanced. I know from my prior experience within the classroom as a substitute that without some collaboration the students are at a disadvantage. One memory stands out the most when collaboration is mention is when I was subbing for a ECE Teacher in a regular learning classroom, while the teacher was giving the rest of the students their assignments I was working one on one with a ECE student that needed the extra help in order to fulfill their task. The teacher and I collaborated on the questions that the student had left to complete before moving on to their homework. Through the use of collaboration the student was able to complete their task and be on the same task as the rest of the class.
In education 2130, we are ask to volunteer our time and do field experience that in return would give back to the community. I choose to do my field experience at Lula Elementary School in Hall County. During my time there I got to observe and watch teachers teach, how they handle children’s behavior and also their classroom management. When I was first assigned Ms. Clark’s 6th grade Language Arts class, I had mixed feelings on my field placement. During my first two years here at Manchester University, I have spent my field experience in the history department at the high school level. Also, I have spent countless hours studying my content area to be prepared for my future profession. I was scared of venturing out of my comfort zone and into an area I lack knowledge. However, as I have learned, all growth occurs outside of your comfort zone. Over the course of this semester, I have worked with Ms. Clark in her high ability class to help prepare myself to reach all learners in my classroom. Recently, I conducted an interview with her in order to better understand my future
