Fencing is a great activity know worldwide just like reading class I learn in both. A great activity offered by my school is fencing. First, fencing offers me a lot of health benefits for the future. Second, it is just simply fun to take and to learn important life skills. Last, I take it because some of my friends take it with me, and I like the way they teach us all of the important skills first. As can be seen, the great activity offered by my school is the art of fencing. First of all, fencing can help my health in many important ways more than I will ever know at least. The more I move the less my body will break down on me in the long run now it will take a lot to break my body down. When I take fencing my blood starts
moving faster witch will prevent a stroke, heart attacks, and blood clots. My heart starts beating faster and the faster it beats the stronger the heart will get in the long run also, when my heart beats faster it allows the blood to flow faster thought the body. All in all, I have many more health benefits than I would setting at home. Second of all, it is really fun to take and learn the skills of a true sword fighter. I get to learn many valuable skills and tic necks on the fencing team. It teaches me how to defend an opponent’s attack and even how to counter attack there attack. It also teaches me how to properly attack an opponent and, it can teach me how to dodge an attack as well. When I am taking on an opponent it is really fun to play with them for a while. All in all, it gives me long life lessons and skills. Last but not least, I take it to be with some of my friends and to get better at my work on the team. I can help out my friends if they are struggling on one certain thing I can go back over it with them if they do not get it the first time. If I am struggling in one certain part they can help me get it down and they will go back over it with me. Also I get to socialize with my friends if the teacher is not talking. As I have said, that is one of the main reasons fencing. In conclusion, a great activity offered by my school is fencing and I love that. Fencing offers more health benefits than any other sport in America. It is really fun to take and learn life skills I may need one day in the future. If I take fencing I can learn may good skills and I will get to talk to a lot of my friends because they are on the same team as me. Even if my friends was not taking it I would still be on the team because I love fencing. All of my life I have always wanted to be a fencer. A great activity to do at my school is the great and noble art of fencing.
BUT if we want the same perimeter (which we do) we have to take away a
Helmet or no helmet? This controversial issue for girls lacrosse has been growing stronger each year. If you have ever seen men's lacrosse their uniforms are almost identical to a football player. While women only wear goggles and a mouth guard. So why why is this such a controversial issue? Shouldn’t women want to wear helmets for protection? There is a lot of evidence to review on the topic. In the articles titled, “A Case Against Helmets in Lacrosse.” by Alan Schwarz, the non-fiction piece titled “Headgear Rule for Girls” by Bill Pennington, another article named, “Helmets In Lacrosse” by Krystina Lucid, and “How Women's Field Lacrosse Differs from Men's Field Lacrosse” by James Hinkson and Joe Lombardi. Girls lacrosse should not wear more head gear/ a helmet because if they are protected they feel they can play a more aggressive game, the rules in girls lacrosse do not allow any
Bullfighting has been a tradition passed along for many years. It is a sport of baiting and killing bulls spectated by the public in an outdoor arena. But how exactly did Bullfighting begin? Bullfighting originated when the first bullfight was held in honor of King Alfonso VIII's coronation in 1133. It was called a corrida back then. These events eventually became popular for celebrating important events and to test the zeal of noblemen. The bullfight first seen at the coronation in 1133 was popularized in 1726 when Francisco Romero started using a cape and weapons during the event. Some older paintings imply that some type of bullfighting existed before 1133. A wall painting in Crete that dates to 2000 B.C. shows men and women grabbing a bull
Imagine riding a horse on white sandy beach with crystal blue waters, or a cowboy in the dusty deserts of the Wild West. Most do not realize but horsemanship can be added as a part of an exercise routine and have similar benefits of going to the gym. In addition, there are psychological gains of horse riding.
“What happens to a dream deferred?”(Hughes 1) Langston Hughes poem,Harlem, it talks about dreams. I’ve always been the type of person that truly enjoys athletics and have participated in nearly all sports offered to me. I started playing sports in elementary with club softball and basketball. As I entered my middle and high school years I was able to add the school sanctioned sports to my list of activities. This afforded me the opportunity of competing in volleyball, basketball, golf, track and softball. The camaraderie and life lessons of sports seemed invaluable to me.

Imagine yourself covered in grime and filth, your backside sore from branding and relentless whippings. Just waiting for the next human to tease and deliberately provoke a violent response from you just for fun. Now imagine yourself minding your own business in your own home, having dinner with your family and an armed intruder gunning you and your family down, for no reason, just in the name of sport. Finally imagine yourself being taken away from your mother at a young age and being forced to do embarrassing “feats” and dangerous “stunts”. If you refused, you’re starved and beaten. For some unfortunate animals, this is all they have ever known.
Fencing is a method of personal expression and release. It is ultimatly a way of life for some. Nevertheless, this noble lifestyle is dying out. There are those who would convince others that classical fencing is a way of the past. In its place they would promote a sport that uses the same equipment and yet, is so different, that one cannot think of it in the same light. The controversy between these two poses the question "is Olympic fencing better than classical?"; A question that will require some research.
When I was a kid I saw Princess Bride and I formed a strong love for sword play. I was eight years old and in the living room when I first saw this dramatic, entertaining, and beautiful film. After I saw this I tried very hard to learn how to fence but it was not easy to learn because I had no one to teach me or train with me. Then a college that was in my hometown opened a fencing club when I was fifteen. However, when I got there everything was very different then I imagined.
It is great for children to be enrolled in sports. It helps teach them many skills. Sports also can improve a child’s social skills. Some sports have better outcomes than other sports. For example, Soccer is a great cardio sport, but it does not teach posture and it is not as strict of a sport. Figure Skating, when done competitively, is a very strict sport. The training is very difficult, and the skills completed have to be very precise. The atmosphere is very professional. Although the sport is very difficult and sometimes stressful or frustrating, it has many beneficial outcomes.
The main goals behind Sport Education are to help students become knowledgeable about different sports and activities to the point where they can participate in these outside of the classroom to stay active. Martial arts is an amazing thing with amazing experiences. It has many, many health benefits. Some of them include flexibility, agility, posture, weight, stamina, and mental strength. Discipline is also a benefit of martial arts because you have to follow instruction if you want the desired results, and correct techniques. I can tell you from a first hand experience that martial arts is a way of living; for me, it gave me flexibility, agility, timing, reflexes, a sense of a higher being, resolve, patience, speed, power, leverage, planning, adaptability, enlightenment etc… What I am trying to say is that martial arts can give you so many things and with no drawbacks.
