Felis Catus
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to become an animal for a day, or a week, or maybe even forever? I have come upon the conclusion that a cat is one of the best animals to become in the animal kingdom. The key points being a cat’s habitat, behaviour, and finally their anatomy.
The first point we need to look at is a cat’s habitat. One benefit of a cat’s habitat is that they live with humans. And living with humans gives cats shelter, food, and unlimited amounts of affection. Cats no longer have to hunt for hours tracking and animal to eat. Now they just wander over to the food dish to get an excellent blend of natural meats and vegetables, which would not be available in the wild. Also, cats no longer have to spend
nights out in the cold because their relationship with humans allows them to sleep in the warm and comfort of a home. Second, cats have a very unique behaviour. First of all, cats are very relaxed. They spend 60% of the day sleeping. But cat's can also be very playful. I have seen cats find amusement in anything from a cat toy to a sock. Cats have managed to keep from ever being bored. Cats are also very curious creatures, sometimes too curious. Whenever a cat is exposed to a new environment it will explore it with strong determination Finally, we have to look at the anatomy of a cat. Cats are very agile creatures. They can run really fast, can jump really high and can fit into spaces that are really small. Did you know that cats can jump up to six times their own height? That’s almost six feet! That would be a really cool thing to be able to do. That means that the average person could jump 30 feet. You could jump on top of houses and buildings, making the commute to work a breeze. In conclusion, a cat would be the best animal to be because their habitat is ideal, they have good behavioural qualities and they have a well-assembled anatomy. Cats are

Evolution. The word generally used to describe the change in the genes of humans from generation to generation to adapt to their environment, but the definition also states that it is any process of growth or development. Evolution, in this case, can be successfully used in either context. Florenz Kitten adapted the design of the steam engine to work for the landscape of the region and manufactured them at his shop, the Kitten Foundry and Machine Work, later renamed the Ferdinand Foundry and Machine Works (Sonderman 57). Years later, after electric and gas power have erased all need for steam products, few steam engine still exist. Although the Ferdinand Foundry and Machine Works in Ferdinand, Indiana no longer continues production, the
The sabertooth cat, also known by its scientific name Smilodon Fatalis, is considered a true form fossil. A fossil is considered a true form fossil when scientists recover fossils of the actual animal or animal part. These bones were oftentimes subjected to physical processes while still on the surface. These processes include heat, cold, wind and rain.
The endangered black-footed ferret is a member of the weasel family. It is the only ferret native to North America—the domestic ferret is a different species of European origin. Black-footed ferrets once numbered in the tens of thousands, but were brought to the brink of extinction by the 1960s. Although still endangered, they are starting to make a comeback, and Defenders of Wildlife is pleased to be helping achieve this remarkable wildlife success story.
Cats can be very lazy but dogs are not very lazy. Dogs can be fun and active while cats just like to sleep most of the time . The Felis silvestris, or wildcat, are located primarily in Africa, Europe, southwest Asia, and Central Asia. Due to their largely populated area they are not seen as an animal that will be going extinct any time soon. They come in various types(colors) of fur because of their geographic differences and are slightly larger than a housecat. Evidence shows that the housecat might have came from the African wildcat a near 10,000 years ago to be used to keep rodents away from stored goods in the Fertile Crescent. The genetic diversity is being compromised by the crossbreeding between wildcats and housecats and could begin to effect the extinction likeliness. Wildcats have been around since the late Pilocene(2-5 mya), the last ice age left many fossils of these animals in caves and

SpayUSA says that the benefits of spaying include no heat cycles, less desire to roam, risk of mammary gland tumors, ovarian and/or uterine cancer is reduced or eliminated, especially if done before the first heat cycle, reduces the number of unwanted cats, and helps cats live longer, healthier lives. Not only are many health issues reduced, but the overpopulation decreases dramatically. Those 66,088 cats are reduced even if only by a little bit. SpayUSA also says that the benefits of neutering reduces or eliminates risk of spraying, less desire to roam, therefore less likely to be injured in fights or auto accidents, risk of testicular cancer is eliminated, and decreases incidence of prostate disease, reduces the number or unwanted cats, decreases aggressive behavior, and helps cats live longer, healthier lives. This means less homeless cats walk around injured or lay dead on the side of the road. In short, if people fixed their cats, many problems could be greatly reduced.
Dogs are extremely lovable and the only thing in life that they want is to be loved by their owners. With dogs, everything in life revolves around love and affection. The only thing that is on a cats mind is food and what they
Edgar Allen Poe, from an early age, was associated with death. Born Edgar Poe; January 19, 1809, he was an American author, poet, editor, and literary critic. Having watched his mother die of tuberculosis when he was only three after his father abandoned him; he was then cared for by John and Frances Allan, of Richmond, Virginia. While Poe got along perfectly well with Frances Allan, his relationship with John Allan was rocky at best. Tension developed as Poe grew older, when he and John Allan repeatedly clashed over debts, including those sustained by gambling, and the cost of a secondary education for Poe. His relationship with John appears to be the motive behind several of Poe’s characters from his later work. Poe’s association with death continues when his first fiancé dies. Years later; Poe’s wife Virginia would fall ill with tuberculosis for several year before she too dies.

Humans only helped tame cats a little. According to Jenny Hill “Their diet changed somewhat when cats were provided with food from grateful humans”. This shows that when the humans gave the cats food they got use to it and changed what they ate. Also according to Jenny Hill “breeding program heightened certain characteristics in the wild animals”. This shows that when
We all are busy people who are out of the house most of the day. We need a companion to help us ease the stress from daily life. For example, if you are purr-catinating on essays or preparing for speeches late at night, you at least have a companion by your side. A great companion is the cat, you get to pet a fluffy thing and get free scratches. Why cats? Well, cats are purr-ty interesting creatures. According to Discovery News, in 1960s, the CIA tried to turn a cat into a spy, but un-fur-tunately, they failed when the cat was ran over by a cab. Another interesting fact according to Buzzfeed is female cats are typically right-pawed while male cats are typically left-pawed. There is also a cat island named Tashirojima that are terrorized by stray cats in Japan. The main problem is there are too many cats in the shelters that need a home, according to ASPCA, approximately 3.4 million cats enter the shelters every year. Well the solution to this is you can adopt a cat. There are a few things you need to do before adopting a cat.
Both dogs and cats are good for companionship, because they are both very sweet, loveable. However dogs have a much more need for attention, dogs constantly want to be played with, and sometime aggravate their owner until they get what they want. On the other hand, cats pretty much like to stay to themselves. Some cats may stay away during the day time and only come out at night. Dogs sleep pretty much at night while some cats are up all night.
Outdoor cats usually are pretty scraggly looking. The fact that they have to work for all of their food causes them to get more dirty and does not allow them the time to clean themselves everyday. They are much skinnier and are in much better shape. These cats are awake all day long looking for food and avoiding the everyday obstacles of an outdoor cat. This allows them to get plenty of exercise, but not always enough food.
