Imagine being Janis Joplin for just one day. Being able to travel around the world and be an influential icon. Kali Miller's personality made her decide who she wanted to be for one day. I interviewed 16 year old Kali Miller a junior at Hempfield High School, on August 31, 2016. This was the first time I ever met her. When I interviewed Kali, I discovered many intriguing facts about her family life, school activities, and personal traits and hobbies. The first topic Kali and I discussed was her family life. She was born on September 20, 1999 in Monroeville. She presently lives in Luxor, and has been for nine years now. Kali has lived in West Virginia, Virginia, and New Jersey before moving to Luxor. Kali has six total siblings. Lauren , Zach, Steven, Kenny, Kassie, and unfortunately a baby boy that passed away at birth. Kali also has two dogs and a parrot. Their names are Cody, Bear, and Coco. …show more content…
Before coming to High School, she attended Wendover Middle School. When there, her funniest moment was when her friend was playing a game and was trying to knock a tower of bottles over and ended up hitting her teacher in the head with a ball. Kalis least favorite thing about school is being able to be at tech all day. Her favorite thing about school is going to tech where she does Graphic Design. Her plans after High School are to move to California and start a writing career. She also said she she plans on doing Graphic Design along with being a writer. The best thing she did this summer was going to a Blink 182 concert on the last day of
In the days leading up to her graduation, she was so excited about receiving her diploma for her academic accomplishments, even though she hasn’t accomplished a lot in life by experiencing a little bit of it. She felt like the birthday girl with her pretty dress, beautiful hair, and the presents she received from Uncle Willie and her mother. She felt like it w...
The second family that I interviewed was the Lyles family. Both Bro. Scotty, the father, and Mrs. Yolanda, the mother, participated in the interview and three of their children were in the room. Bro. Scotty was born and raised in Alba, Texas on the very same tree farm that he owns and operates today; he is also a deacon at our church. However, Mrs. Yolanda was born and raised in Guatemala. As a child she was raised Catholic, and is part of a large and growing family. She is one of eight children. Their family as well as anybody else in that culture celebrated their daughter’s 15th birthday with a Quinceañera which marked the transition from childhood to young womanhood. This was traditionally the first time the girls would wear make-up, nice

Kaakinen, Gedaly-Duff, Coehlo & Hanson, (2010) report family is the biggest resource for managing care of individuals with chronic illness; family members are the main caregivers and provide necessary continuity of care. Therefore, it is important for health care providers to develop models of care based on an understanding what families are going through (Eggenberger, Meiers, Krumwiede, Bliesmer, & Earle, 2011). The family I chose to interview is in the middle of a transition in family dynamics. I used the family as a system approach as well as a structure-function theoretical framework to the effects of the changes in dynamic function. Additionally, the combinations of genogram, ecomap, adaptations of the Friedman Family Assessment model as well as Wright & Leahey’s 15 minute family interview were utilized.
A family assessment is a process for gathering and organizing information in ways that can help a family prevent and or solve problems. The goal is to obtain a full understanding and unbiased view of the strengths and problems. A good assessment is about relationship building, engaging families in an exploration of their strengths, values and goals to build mutual trust and respect. Then when problems do arise, this relationship can be the foundation of open communication allowing the doors to open for identification of additional supports needed to reduce or eliminate the factors causing harm.

Imagine flying a plane while still attending high school. This is something Anthony enjoys doing in his free time. I have known Anthony Bellotti since elementary school, but Anthony and I were never close, until we interviewed each other. While interviewing Anthony I learned even more than I already knew about his family, school life, and his hobbies.
I interviewed my mom who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, a seizure disorder, and fibromyalgia; therefore, she struggled to be fully physically, mentally, and emotionally present while my sister Hannah and I were growing up. That definitely influenced how she parented us: she did the best she could, but her parenting style has fluctuated a lot over the years. To keep this from being too lengthy I will focus on her parenting style with my sister now, which is mainly permissive. For example, on several occasions Mom has decided to homeschool Hannah because she was doing poorly in school. Each time she attempts to do this, she buys all the books, works with Hannah for a couple days, Hannah decides she doesn’t want to do her work that

It was August 15, 2013. Today marked the first day of her junior year in high school after two years of being homeschooled. For many, high school itself is an experiment but walking in with a veil and a garb refined her worries building infinite layers of challenges. For those who do not know she has a confession to make because as many of us believe “secret secrets are no fun unless you share them with everyone.” Well, here is hers!
This summary is on my parent interview with a family that has been married for many years and provide for two children. It will consist of the families Demographics, Relation to class material, Relation to Family Systems Theory, and Personal and Professional Applications that relate to my experiences and how I will and can use what I learned from this interview. My interview was with the mother and father on separate occasions. All adults that are parents will parent differently, due to the fact how they were raised themselves, their religion, and culture. Parents agree and disagree on other parents teachings. We as a whole live in a changing and adapting world. Sometimes parents need to be stronger and tougher on their children to be able
There are so many different types of family relationships. Whatever form a family takes; it is an important part of everyone’s life. My family has played an important role in my life. Good family relationships serve as a foundation to interactions with others. Supportive families will help children to thrive. The quality of the family relationship is more important than the size of the family. Making the relationships priority, communication, and providing support for one another is key to developing relationships. Family relationships are what make up our world today; they shape the ways that we see things and the ways that we do things.
