As one go through life, there are many opportunity to make false perceptions and stereotype others into a category simply because it is more convenient than taking the time to learn about someone that is different from yourself. My personal definition of perception is similar to judging, it is when someone think or assume something about someone before they know the facts. Stereotyping is making assumptions about someone and grouping them into a category of people that are similar based on limited knowledge as to who they really are. As one would expect, this pre-emptive judgment about another person may cause potential conflict. It is understandable why people would think I am angry because people eyebrows tends to become curvy when they are mad or when they are angrily yelling. As a result people tend to avoid me or not talk to me which happens all the time hence why I do not have many friends as I would like. It is unfair to me when people assume this about me because the way I look is something I cannot change and therefore people will always assume I am angry. One time it went too far as to me being called,”Jihadist brows” referencing muslims who also have thick aggressive eyebrows who are angry at America. In which I got offended and really became angry. After a while, I realized that if people are going to call me that then they are not worthy of being my friend anyways so I eventually got over it and even joke about it from time to …show more content…

I am an introvert, if you will. I enjoy keeping to myself but sometime isolation from the misconception that I am upset and want to be left alone is harsh. Another reason why people might misperceive that I am upset is based on my body language and how blank my facial expression is and lack of movement or speech. For example, I get asked a lot,”What’s wrong?” when I am just blankly dozing out thinking about something. Moreover, I think people perceive this of me as well when I am overtired and people think it is a sign that something is wrong. It is easy to mistake someone from being upset and sleepy. I guess a solution to this misperception is for people to ask,”how was your day?” to get a better glimpse of how I am truly feeling. Maybe if I drink more coffee I would be more energized to be more talkative and people would not think I am upset all the time
