We should care to learn about these two men because this story proves that even with a challenging early life growing up you can still have a successful life. The author showed that with all that he went through growing up he was still able to grow up as a “Rhodes Scholar, decorated veteran, White House Fellow, and business leader.” (Moore) .” which is an amazing

For this assignment, I chose to interview an individual whom I’ve named “Stan Polansky” to protect the anonymity of my interviewee. Stan is a 25 year old Polish man who officially moved to the U.S. roughly 3 years ago after moving back and forth from Poland and the US. Stan was faced with the difficult economic decision of deciding whether or not to pursue a career as a musician or in the jewelry business. Stan chose to attend a trade school and pursued a career as a jewelry repairman/ custom jewelry designer instead, making him now a third generation jeweler. Stan is currently employed at his family’s jewelry business. However, this decision did not come easy. Stan’s Polish culture and family played a large role in his decision. In addition,
The commencement speech given by David Foster Wallace in the autumn of 2005, is a very deep speech that examines the whole idea of a Liberal Arts education at an extremely deep and intellectual level. In the 22 minute long speech Wallace talks about how higher education not only teaches you to think but “how to exercise some control over how and what you think.” (Wallace). Wallace later in his speech stresses the importance of this level of thinking by saying “if you cannot exercise this kind of choice in adult life, you will be totally hosed” (Wallace) What he means by saying this is that if you cannot think at a higher level and make sense of real world problems your life will become meaningless and you will become dead inside your head.
Months later, during their individual meeting, the supervisor explained what she could have done differently and ways to handle the situation. Miss Servo felt blindsided and did not understand why she would speak with her about the matter months later. However, Miss Servo will often speak with her supervisor about dealing with cultural differences and her supervisor provides informative feedback—which she explains is appreciated. Miss Servo feels that she can be open with her supervisor about some things, but not with others. “We just work within two different lenses.” In addition, Miss Servo explains her relationship with her mentor, a teacher who has many years of experience and assists Miss Servo in team-taught classes. She explains that the mentor acts like a supervisor, giving continuous feedback and direction within her early career of being a teacher. Though the mentor is Caucasian, majority of their students in their team taught class are of a different ethnic background. Miss Servo explains that having a “veteran” teacher has been helpful during her early career and that she feels more comfortable and open to talk to her about matters. Within the interview, I asked if being within the same race, as opposed to her supervisor, allows her to feel more at ease and
In this paper, I will write a brief reflection over my interview with Professor David Christianson. I asked my professor fourteen questions, all question had different meanings and answers. I will start off my paper with some facts and advice which I received from my professor, my personal reflection on the facts, my personal reflection on the overall experience, and lastly, I will end my paper with the conclusion.
“Don’t judge someone until you walk in their shoes.” These words were a great boundary line throughout the entire COUN 253 classroom. They also applied to the person I spoke with for my interview. I got the chance to interview a friend and a fellow teammate on the Track and Field Team, Charles Wilson-Adams. Charles is a straight black male living with ADD/ADHD. I had the privilege to share this project with him and see the world through his eyes.
The first thing I wanted to know was what she thinks her brothers strengths and weaknesses. For these specific questions, I only asked about one brother instead of both of them to limit the time of the interview. I asked about Jack’s strengths and weaknesses in school. Meghan said that his strength is his elective classes like P.E, art, reading, and writing. His weaknesses are math, history, and science. The next question I asked was what does she expect for Michael in the future. She told me that it will be interesting for how far he will come because he is very dependent on his mother right now. She believe that it will be a huge issue for him. She wants to see his communication skills to get better but overall he is a very smart, funny person with a great future she says. The last question I asked Meghan was about what helps Michael and Jack in school. For being a future special educator I thought I could reflect a lot on this question by getting helpful tips. She told me that Michael does very well with his classroom aide and in smaller classes. He also loves when he get rewarded for his work. He enjoys sensory breaks with either his ipad or just relaxing on the carpet. Finally, Michael doesn’t like transitions to classes and this is difficult for him. Jack on the other hand, he loves school and is always on top of his game. He loves going from class to class. He
The interview was conducted March 23, 2016, late afternoon I contacted Mr. Malone via cell phone. I then stated my name and introduced the topic of the interview. Afterwards I informed Mr. Malone about the types of questions I was going to ask him and told him to speak freely and not to answer anything that makes him uncomfortable. All of the questions I asked were good but there was a few that
God has given Angeline L. Williams a passionate love for His Word, a fervent desire to see the lost come to know Jesus Christ, and to see the Bride of Christ living to her full potential, prepared for Christ’s return. Having survived various types of abuse, she continues to reach deeper levels of healing and thriving by closely abiding in intimacy with the Spirit of God and following heaven’s mandate to set the captives free.
I will be introducing my personal worldview and what I believe. I will then, review and discuss most of the questions I conducted in my interview. I used some of my own questions formulate my interview, but then related them to the Sire textbook questions. My interview questions and answers are relevant and most intriguing to the reader. I discovered complexities, consistencies and inconsistencies within my interview. I will then, compare and contrast my personal worldview with my interviewee. My conclusion will restate and overall recap of my worldview and my interviewee’s worldview.
Throughout our life, we encounter different kinds of people. Although most people around us are strangers who we do not know their names, sometimes they may make a deep impression on us due to their actions as well as attitude towards life. Some people are influenced by the family, friends, and teachers because they are someone who we spend a lot of time with. As for me, when I was ten, I met an ordinary worker who was quite strange to me, and she had a profound influence on my life.
