Schools should have special events during school hours. When I say special events I mean games, band performances, and others. Lets get to the point.
Unlike others some students have no transportation to and from the school. Now, you got a bunch of students stuck at home with nothing to do. Kids sitting at home board out of their minds doing nothing. That’s just not right. Usually parents have things to do in the afternoon like working. After working their butts off all day, the first thing they’d want to do when they get home is sit back and relax. They don’t want to go home pick their kids up and take them back to a place they just came from. What’s the point is that, when the kids could’ve stayed at school
in the first place. Parents have to work, or else they wouldn’t be able to pay their bills. For instance, the average person has to pay: the light bill, water bill, mortgage, house bill, and if they have one, a car note. I’m just a kid, but I’m sure those thing don’t coast five cents anymore. I mean it’s 2017 for Christ sake. So, if a parent has to take time off of work to go home and take their kids to a school dance, that going to affect their pay. Especially if their boss is mean. Last but not least, more students will be able to attend the fundraiser. You know what that mean, there’s more money!!! The more students that attend, the more money the school will earn. Sadly, those students are stuck at home on their couch. So do use all a favor and eat more chicken, save the cows (lol). Just kidding find time during school hours to have a dance.
... school sports and clubs so they don't clash with academics we need to get Americas schooling back on top.
Why Schools Should Continue Starting at Eight Despite popular opinion, to be beneficial, schools should continue on their current schedules, and not start later. Starting schools later can have a variety of positive and negative consequences on students. Schools currently are at a time that gives students enough lesson time to learn subjects, but still have time to relax and take part in other activities after school. Many families depend on the time school starts to have easy transportation to school and work. Starting schools later will take away students time to do activities of their choice such as spend time with their families, socialize with others, and participate in extracurricular activities.
School days should be shorter fro students because they do not get enough sleep, have to much homework, and have barley have time to participate in extra curricular activities. A majority of students have sleep depravation due to school. If school would either start or end late students will have a greater opportunity to get more sleep. Teachers expect students to pay attention for 90 minutes while the night before they were up late finishing their homework for there classes. Some teachers do not realize that students have a life and work or have other obligations that take up a major portion of the students.
Should secondary school have recess? Secondary schools should not have recess, because it takes time out of class. Some schools don't have enough class time to teach or learn about the topic that they are learning so they don't have to reteach it to the students.
If children were asked what their favorite part of the school day is, the majority would answer: recess. Why is this? Is it because recess helps them let off steam, or perhaps to help them settle disputes with other kids. Even though kids love it, elementary schools are starting to remove recess from the daily schedule. School boards believe recess has no value, besides giving youngsters a break. However, scientists have discovered recess helps kids focus better in class, as well as, preventing obesity. Children have an attention span of only twenty minutes. How could they possibly pay attention for seven hours a day with no recess in between? In addition to that, children are not accustomed to physical activity outside of school, so therefore, how are they supposed to stay healthy? With these two counterarguments towards the dismissal of recess, why do elementary schools still refuse to have recess? Because it is proven to help children focus on schoolwork and prevent obesity, all elementary schools should have recess.
A lot of students need to be able to take care of their responsibilities. Sometimes, my father is not always in town to pay the water bill, this is where I come in. The time given to us during lunch is the time that I use to go and pay that water bill. There are also those students who have sick and/or elderly relatives that need assistance. Students are able to leave campus to go help their relative with whatever they may need. Do you like puppies? Cats maybe? Well, guess what? There are students who need to feed their pets. If you have a pet, you wouldn’t want it to starve all day till you get home from school would you? I know I wouldn’t. A lot of students take the time to go home and feed their animals during lunch time.
When did most of your best childhood memories occur? Probably during summer break! Now think if those memories had not happened to you because of school. Some schools now are going off of the traditional break schedule and are turning over to year round schooling. Students need time to rest, students need time for other activities and kids need time to spend with their family.. Schools should keep a traditional school calendar for many reasons.
I’m pretty sure most people hate getting up super early in the morning to get to school. Am I right? Well I think it’s the worst. In my opinion, I think school should start later because it is better for a person's health and it’s better for students learning. One other reason why school should start later is because a lack of sleep has serious consequences. High schools should start no earlier than 8:30.
Schools should allow students to participate in club-sponsored events during school hours. While I do not believe that clubs should primarily use class-time to meet, not all club-sponsored events can be completed after school or over the weekend. Therefore students should participate in events during the school day because the events benefit not only the students, but the communities as well. However, parents and teachers may argue that students would miss out on learning in the classroom.
Now if you have a family, maybe you have kids of your own or maybe your parents don’t or can’t take care or your siblings so you were forced to step in and help out. If this is the case what if one day you have class but you can’t make it that day? Your kid got sick or hurt, or maybe you couldn’t find or afford a baby sitter. You should not be punished for not being able to make it to class. If you are paying money to take the class it should be up to you if you show up. Especially if you have something as important as your kids that needs to be taken care of
Studies have shown that kids gain more knowledge with a break before they learn in class. Students are constantly stuck in class, sitting down all day. Without a break, students get restless and are never able to relax. Students should have breaks during the school day because they won't be sitting in a chair all day, it will allow them to clear their minds, and they will retain the information better.
The school board plans to add one and a half hours to school each day . I strongly disagree about the school board adding a hour and 30 minutes to school hours .
It's not fair to eliminate every single extra curricular activity that interferes with "keeping teenagers out of trouble". There was a Lacrosse game the other night against a school that was forty five minutes away, the game ended around nine o'clock, and the players had to ride the bus back to the school. By the time they got back to the school it was probably close to nine fifty five, and they still had to drive home after that. They will be out past curfew, how is that in anyway trouble? When athletes are in high school, they try to balance everything at once, why should anybody have to take something out of their everyday routine just because of other people not behaving, nobody has any control over what anybody else does, only yourself, and your own actions.
To most parents, it’s hard to keep their child home when there's supposed to a school day. Which makes the parents want to pull their own hair out, just because of their children not going to school and with teachers refusing to do their work. But even some parents believe that as part of teachers teaching their children, they should help with reaching a good maturity, is to be teaching them on how to take responsibilities for their own consequences of their own actions while learning(It
And when I say the school community, I mean the parents as well. There are many parents that stay on top of every change and issue that occurs in the school building. Making a change basically to the school hours would take a lot of parental convincing. A big thing that would cause parents to want to confront the principal about this would be their kids being upset. If their kid comes home upset and telling them how they feel forced to be doing this, then most likely the parent will be at the school the next day. Something else that might boost them to want to talk to the administration would be that these activities could be interfering with their family time. Or if the parent had something planned for the child to do after like volunteer work, church events, appointments, etc. So rather than the administration being so focused on the kids happiness, they would have to be dealing with a vast amount of phone calls, conferences, and emails on a daily basis. Causing them to also lose focus from their actual teaching or administering job. Furthermore on the kids feelings, if certain kids feel forced or like they don't want to do it then surely they will not do it. Which means they won't be showing up to any of the courses or not be participating while they're there. Therefore, a discipline system would have to be made for
