On October 9, 1968, a set of twins were born, but separated at birth and ultimately, put up for adoption. The decision to separate the twins came from the adoption agency who wanted to conduct a nature versus nurture experiment; however, the experiment was conducted in secret. However, for unknown reasons, the experiment never developed to fruition. Unaware the child they adopted was a twin; both sets of parents raised a singular child. Thirty-five years later, one twin began a search for her biological mother through the adoption agency, only to find out that she was born a twin. Upon learning her identity, she reached out to her twin and they began the journey of getting to know one another by comparing characteristics that appeared similar such as temperament and mannerism. They even discovered that they both held positions as a film critic and enjoyed almost identical movies.
Environment says a lot about identity, past, and future. Primary environment has the most effect on shaping a child. According to a US National Library of Medicine research study, ”The physical environment and child development: An international review” it says, “What we do know suggests that the physical environment experienced by children impacts their cognitive and socioemotional development across the lifespan, from the prenatal period through adulthood.” In children this is especially important because a child develops most between the ages of two and five. There are three key elements that contribute to a healthy physical for young children, an adequate standard of living (mainly sufficient food, clothing, and housing), healthcare, and safety from injury, violence, and environmental hazards. Although having a Mexican mother and an American father was not always socially acceptable, growing up with a different food taste, having a close-knit family, as well as regularly getting disciplined shaped how I am as a person today. I was dipped into a very different childhood most children did not grow up into.
Growing up in a Mexican-American family can be very fun and crazy. Having two different perspectives on two different cultures almost daily really shapes you to become a certain way as you grow up, which is what happened to me. Ever since I was about three months old I have been taking trips to my parents home town for a month time each time we have gone. Practically growing up in both Mexico and the United States for six years has really helped me understand my cultural background and the different parts of my whole culture, such as the food, heritage, language and culture.
I was born in Inglewood, CA son of two immigrant parents. As a young boy, I always knew the importance of education, it was engrained in me by my mother and father. They both grew up in Mexico where they both loved school until their economic hardships forced them to come to the U.S. and work. I was the first generation in my family to go to college and will be the first to pursue a graduate degree.
I don’t remember a lot about our life in Texas, but I do remember we enjoyed it a lot. At the time, my mom was a stay-at-home mom, and my dad worked at an electric company with my uncle Bernardo. The one thing I do remember is that my dad used to jam out to "Celoso" by Grupo Toppaz and that will forever be one of my favorite songs. We stopped migrating once I started school because my dad thought I would not get the best education if I never finished a school year where I first started. Education has always been an important part of my family's life as my parents have always reminded us that they want us to succeed in life, and live a better life than
Growing up, the biggest challenge I faced was being a first generation Latina student. My family came from an extremely rural neighborhood in Guanajuato, Mexico called La Sandia. Both my parents achieved up to 5th-grade education in their hometowns. They decided to sacrifice their lives in Mexico to provide a better life for their family and then decided to migrate to the U.S to achieve what many people consider the American dream.

I like it because you can always go out you don’t have to worry if it’s cold or if it going to snow nothings of that, of course there is a time that it is only rain but still people enjoy the rain even in the rain
particular zone I was raised in and compare it to the ones that earlier generations in my family were brought up in. I will then write about the type of zone I live in now. I always knew there were differences in living in and around cities. We are made up of suburban and rural areas but I never realized how structured these living areas are and how consistent our choices are based on how we ourselves were reared.
How young children will think and behave as adults is highly effected by the things they experience early on in life. You might say that Laura was raised with strict religious values and is a very judgmental person, or that Josh was raised with little to no values and has now developed a disrespectful personality. Even if you aren’t sure of the cause of a persons behavior you can always be sure that there is one. The way that a person responds to and handles certain situations depends on how that person was raised to do so. Things like point of view and sense-of-self are developed in childhood, and are effected by early experiences and environment.
Describe a time when you lived with others (outside of your family). Describe your role in that living situation. What do you know about yourself and how you relate to others in groups?
I strongly believe that everyone’s childhood is reflected in their adulthood. Wearing the same dress every day for a year and being born a stubborn child has molded me into the young woman I am today. Talking a lot and taking in what I learn has helped to develop strong opinions and morals that help me in making decisions every day. I am proud of who I am and where I come from.
