Introduction

Combustion reactions consist of three main things that are put together to depict something called a combustion triangle: heat, fuel and oxygen, in the experiment we conducted we used the matches that were provided in the lab, for the fuel we used Acetylene (C₂H₂) and the third component is Oxygen gas (O₂). Moreover such reactions must be conducted under great care because of the combustions that occurs, therefore any person interacting with such reactions should be completely aware of the dangers that accompany such experiments …show more content…

Trail 3) the third rocket had a 100% Acetylene (C₂H₂) in it and 0% Oxygen gas (O₂), much like the second rocket this rocket did not launch but it’s crucial to mention that it did release a partially intimidating sound and a dark cloud emerged once we squeezed the pipet.
Trail 4) the fourth rocket was filled in an equal manner of 50% Oxygen gas (O₂) and 50% Acetylene (C₂H₂) and in this trail the rocket covered the distance of 2.5m.
Trail 5) the fifth rocket was the inverse of the first rocket as we filled it with 75% Acetylene (C₂H₂) and 25% Oxygen gas (O₂), unfortunately this rocket did ignite but it only landed next to the launch pad.
Trail 6) the last rocket was a bit different from our previous rockets as we tried a different proportion for this one, where we filled it with 60% Oxygen gas (O₂) and 40% Acetylene (C₂H₂), this rocket did not launch but it did explode and a the explosion was so strong the pipet was destroyed, an extremely loud noise was heard and this was truly the biggest impact we have had through all our
