In this course I think I should be getting an "exceeding expectations" and here is why. In this class we have had multiple projects, assignments, and in class presentations. As the course has progressed I have grown and learned how to use multiple applications like, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Tinker cad. Using all of these programs I learned how to use them at different points in time to make one big video. For example, the most recent project, the PSA/ Trailer where I used Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe after Effects to make the best video I could. I used Photoshop to make the transition title cards so it would look nicer, then I used Adobe Premiere Pro to combine all of the audio and video …show more content…
The reason I decided to include this as an example of why I should be getting an "exceeding expectations" is in the commercial is because in the commercial I play as a Spokesperson for a balloon selling company, the only issue was, when we recorded the video there was no sound! So, to fix this I came up with the idea of doing a voice over, which.....was actually much harder than I imagined. But in the end, we did get together and finish the voiceover which was great! Except we hadn't done any effects yet. So, I worked on trying to finish off the project (which I did get done in time) whilst Hayden was away, and Shreya was feeling sick. But I did get some cool effects in the project, like when the balloon switched colours I used the effect called "Change Colour to Colour" then I put a mask around the balloon so the colour would only go to the balloon, not the entire screen. Which is why I am choosing the commercial assignment to explain to you why I should be getting an "exceeding expectations," because it shows how I used multiple effects and skills to make the video. As well as, following the "BC curriculum" for digital media 9 when it says "Ideating" because I took a risk with the voiceover, not knowing if it would sync well with the …show more content…
For example, I learned how to edit the audio so I could make certain sounds louder or quieter depending on what I needed to do. This is shown in multiple projects like the PSA/ Tutorial assignment where I made the background music a lot quieter when someone was talking. Also, in the Sound assignment when I had to try and make the audio around the same volume as I got further away. Another skill I learned in Premiere was how to edit clips of video or audio to make them the correct length or if I needed to cut something out. I used this tool in many assignments but the main two I used them in was the Commerical assignment, where the audio didn't match what I my mouth was saying so I had to cut the audio to fit in the video. The other video is "Video Assignment Two," where we had to show different camera angle shots, and I had to cut some of the video clips because they were too long and did not relate to the video. Which is why I chose this example, because it shows how I use skills that I had learned to better other projects or
The spectacular qualities within the contemporary films that use VFX became progressively important to Hollywood. The popularity of the ever growing special effects has been increased by a growing demand for products in different multimedia forms such as computer games, theme-park rides and many other secondary outlets that frequently generated more profits then the films they were based on.
I am so pleased to have accomplished this assignment because it gave me the opportunity to finally edit a trailer for a TV Pilot that I wrote, produced and acted in last year. The completed Pilot has even screened at a number of film festivals throughout the country but I was never able to submit a professional trailer with it because I didn't think I could do it justice. Well, I surprised myself. I have a had a "working" knowledge of iMovie for a few years now (say 75% out of 100%) but I really dove in and discovered some pretty cool effects, sound editing tools and transitions that gave me the look I desired.
When looking at not just this class but all of my classes and looking at how I have been approaching them versus how I should approach them it definitely puts my mind in a different perspective because I am a person that “strives for excellence” and if I am able to “ace” a class then I definitely try and do that but a lot of the time that doesn’t mean sitting there and actually learning the information it means
With this short but very interesting and informative class I have just scratched the surface of the what it takes to make a full fleged film. It takes much more than I had presumed to make a movie in Hollywood. The number of people that it takes to make a minute of a movie let alone the entire movie was astonishing to me. There are many things that it takes to start making a movie but without an idea of some sort there is no movie to be made.
A big part of nursing is reflection. Now that my sophomore year is nearly over, I can see how much I have grown and how much knowledge I received. Throughout this semester I have been faced with many thrilling experiences and frightening experiences. I have learned a lot through my gerontology clinical, pharmacology and fundamentals courses. Now that I am in clinical it seems that everything is coming together. Practicing in fundamentals and then practice on a real person has been very beneficial. Once I have performed a skill and tested out I’ve notice I am likely to remember how to do the skill again in practice. In this paper I am going to review some of the main objectives I felt were beneficial to me and will always be an important part of nursing practice.
The Effectiveness of the Techniques Used by the Film Makers in the Creation of the Trailers for the films Armageddon and Deep Impact
I was born profoundly deaf, that means I can’t hear anything without my cochlear implant. That didn’t stop me from being able to communicate with deaf and hearing people because I can sign in ASL to communicate with deaf and I can speak almost perfect English to communicate with hearing. Last summer, I was chosen as a part of the DO-IT scholars program at the University of Washington. This program helps prepare students with different disabilities to become successful in college and in life. I was able to meet and interact with other disabled students who have similar goals in college. I learned despite everyone coming from a different background and had their own unique view of the world, they all view it in a more positive way.
While working or while looking for work there are certain skills sets that are universally important. No matter what job or career path you have chosen these skills make it easier to obtain your goals, whatever they may be.
In the end, this class has really opened my eyes to everything that is out there to supplement my teaching and my students learning. I am extremely happy that this class did not teach me how to use Microsoft Office , but I do wish that we could have had the opportunity to work more with the material rather than merely reading about the material. The Multimodal Task definitely allowed us to configure a lesson using and working with technology, but if we had more time, I wish we could have done more than one task to accomplish such goals.
When watching a movie some people tend to think that we only care about the visual experience. Of course what we see on the screen does play a major role in our perception of the film but many other elements come into play in movies such as sound and/or music in the background. To make a successful movie there are three essential ingredients needed. Those three ingredients are the human voice, sound effects, and background music according to Thomas Sobochack.
Using videos in the classroom provides multiple avenues for learning. Not only do students learn by seeing, but this also helped students develop auditory skills to be able to listen. Because visual learners learn by seeing, I can use maps to help students better understand concepts in social studies or history. Seeing where the pioneers traveled as well as talking about the climate and harsh conditions will allow the students to make sense of how the people had to survive. Another way I can utilize my talents are making posters with eye-catching cartoon characters. This will provide an opportunity for me to be creative and draw, but also make the subjects more appealing for when the posters are hung in the classroom. Graphs will prove to be helpful in math because I can do an experience, but also mark the results using a chart to provide a visual. This will also provide lessons in visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning. Graphic organizers will be used a lot to compare and contrast two stories. This will make it easier to see the differences and similarities. Using my graphic organizer as an example, students have an example of what their work should
...es and making posters as I was able to carry out this task without the help of the teacher purely because of the past experience I have been open to and my passion. This therefore meant that I was able to work at a continuous pace. However, I don’t think I was quite successful at making my website turn out to be the way I wanted due to technology not working properly and my lack of ability to use the software adequately. My products haven’t met my expectation completely because something’s didn’t work out well for example the website due to lack of knowledge in certain area and lack of resources. However, If I was going to recreate my products again, I think I would organise my time more wisely and do a lot more research than I did in the first round. I would also try and use other varieties of resources like using Photoshop instead of PowerPoint to edit pictures.
Some skills that I have developed through the help of them are people skills, leadership skills, and also some medical skills. Throughout these course I have dealt with some rude elderly people and also some young ones. Before I became encountered with that I did not think that people could be so cruel, but I knew that I had to deal with it and continue my job. With that I gained great people skills I learned that everyone is not the same so you cannot treat everyone the same. I had to learn different ways to communicate with people and also try to understand their situation without giving my own opinion about it. I learned how to motivate and enthuse others when they felt as though they could not do it, this also was a major problem when it came to taking care some of the elderly in the nursing home, with this I became a good leader. Obtaining medical skills through high school was kind of difficult because I was young and did not think that I was qualified enough, but I somehow got through it all. I can say that my medical skills are not where they should be but I do plan on getting better with
Also, in the beginning of the lesson I gave the students clear directions of what I expected of the students. I had the students repeat the expectations back to me which was a success since they understood and did what was expected. After the activity, the students were supposed to complete a word sort and then a writing prompt. During the writing and the sort, I did not give clear instructions which affected the students and how they completed the assessment. The next time I teach a lesson, I need to focus more on directions and giving detailed
Offering the unique ability to visually and audibly convey a story, films remain a cornerstone in modern society. Combined with a viewer’s desire to escape the everyday parameters of life, and the excitement of enthralling themselves deep into another world, many people enjoy what films stand to offer. With the rising popularity of films across the world, the amount of film makers increases every day. Many technological innovations mark the advancement of film making, but the essential process remains the same. Pre-production accounts for everything taken place before any shooting occurs, followed by the actual production of the film, post-production will then consist of piecing the film together, and finally the film must reach an audience. Each step of this process contributes to the final product, and does so in a unique right. The process of film making will now start chronologically, stemming from the idea of the story, producing that story into a film, editing that footage together, and finally delivering that story to its viewers.
