Perception is a mysterious thing; it faces a lot of misconception, for it can merely be described as a lens, as it decides how someone views the events happening around them. Perception is the definition of how someone decides to use their senses to observe and make conceptions about events or conditions they see or that are around them. Perception also represents how people choose to observe regardless if it’s in a negative or positive way. In other words, perception can be described as people's cognitive function of how they interpret abstract situations or conjunctures around them. Since perception is how someone chooses to see things, depending on their view, it will also sway and affect their emotions and motivations, based on what they see. Say someone's perception is very negative: that will lead them to only draw out the negatives, probably leading to more depressed and frustrated emotions. This might lead them to have no motivation, or too much, based on how they interpret that negative perception. The reasoning behind this is simple, because if someone sees negatively they will have negative emotions, and probably a reason derived from negativity to motivate themselves. On the other hand, if someone has a positive outlook and perception they will be happier, for they no longer confide themselves in the negatives and will probably have a more valuable reason to motivate themselves. The way people decide to see the world will affect where they go, and how they will make decisions. A good example of this is: someone who sees the world as a wonderful place will most likely want to travel, and experience life, but someone who sees the world as a scary place will most likely stay in the house. The reason why two people can be such opposites is because one might gear their attention to the scary things while the other decides to look at the wonderful things. How they decide to perceive those experiences or events might affect their decisions as well. So really, when looking at it, perception can make or break someone.
