Have you ever had a sudden severe pain in your scrotum and testicle? If you have you may be suffering from a Testicular torsion, which is also known as, a Testis torsion. This is a serious medical emergency that requires surgery immediately to save the testicle. Testis torsion happens when the spermatic cord that provides blood flow to the testicle that turns and becomes twisted. Usually cold temperatures, a medical condition, exercise can cause testis torsion it also can be caused when the person is a sleep, when the testis grow rapidly during puberty and after they have had an injury to their scrotum. Although, sometimes the cause is not know of why this happens. When the spermatic cord becomes twisted it cuts off the blood supply to the testicles and will cause sudden severe pain and swelling of the testicle.
Symptoms and signs of testicular torsion can include a severe pain that comes on suddenly in the scrotum. The scrotum is the loose bag of skin under the penis that holds the testicles. Another sign of testicular torsion is swelling of the scrotum especially on one side. Nausea and vomiting and severe pain in the abdomen are also symptoms. When looking at both scrotums, one scrotum can appear to be higher than the other.
When the patient goes to the doctor, the doctor with examine their scrotum, abdomen, groin and testicles. The doctor might test their reflexes by pinching or rubbing the inside of their thigh. Usually this will cause the testicle to contract and move. This movement usually won’t happen if it is a testicular torsion. There are three tests that the doctor can do to determine if the spermatic cord is twisted. The first one is called a doppler ultrasound. This makes an image from hi...

...ntly gone through puberty. However this condition can happen in males at any age. This can also affect newborns and infants. If a patient has had pain in their testicles before and the pain went away it is mostly likely to happen again. If a patient has this pain frequently it is very likely that their testicle will be permanently damaged. Testicular torsion can be hereditary.
During my research on testicular torsion, I learned how serious this condition could be. It is scary to know that if a patient doesn’t go to a doctor or hospital right away that they may loose the ability to father children when they are older. Since testicular torsion most often happens in boys that have just gone through puberty, a boy at this age may feel to embarrassed to go to their mom or dad to talk to them about it and try to cover it up until it is too late and the damage is done.
The testes produce sperm and sex hormones, testosterone. Surrounding each testis is a coiled tube called the epididymis, which collects and stores sperm, very much similar to that of a human. Before ejaculation a seminal fluid is added by the seminal vesicles, to prevent the sperm from drying out.
Some of the signs and symptoms associated with a labral tear include: Pain when you put your arm over your head, grinding, popping, locking, or catching of the shoulder,
The penis consists of basically three cylinders, covered by several sheaths of tissue and, finally, by skin. A pair of corpora cavernosa form the erectile tissue that becomes engorged with blood during erection, acting like the inner tube of a tyre. They are surrounded by the tunica albuginea, a tough, inelastic, fibrous sheath, which might be compared with the tyre itself. When the penis becomes erect, the inner tubes (corpora cavernosa) inflate, filling the space within the tyre (tunica albugenia), making it more rigid.
Describe the clinical findings that may be present in a patient with this issue? Symptoms of a patient presenting with ovarian torsion includes pelvic or abdominal pain fluctuating, radiating to loin or thigh, occasionally accompanied with
If in the end, neither going with the prenatal dexamethasone treatment nor choosing to challenge the gender binary prove to be a stronger choice than the other to provide a stable life for parents of children with disorders of sexual development and children with disorders of sexual development, then I would, as both a pediatrician and a sociologist, recommend that the mother and her partner seriously consider adoption to provide stability in the life and future of a less fortunate child, since the mother cannot handle the idea of having another extraordinary child- which to others beings often considered unconventional, would be a blessing, ‘disorder’ of sexual development or not. The most important aspect of this case is that the child is raised to live a fulfilling life, emotionally, despite physical variations.
Prostate cancer has been the number one diagnosed cancer today. According to the World Health Organization, approximately one in every ten American men will develop prostate cancer during his lifespan. This cancer has been very common in the last few years. American Cancer Society reported over 200,000 new cases of prostate cancer. Huge number of population suffered severely. The prostate is significant for reproduction. It helps the substances that are involved in fertilization and transporting of sperm as well as survival. Prostate tumor is developed in the prostate gland, which is found in the men’s reproductive system. Prostate is the size of a walnut, which is located inferiorly in the penis and anterior to the rectum. It contains the connective tissue, which includes the glandular and fibrous tissues. This tumor starts to develop during their adolescent year due to the control of the male reproductive hormones. When the tumor starts to develop, it begins at the urethra, which is a tube that releases the urine from the bladder. The tumor is a slow development yet it is contagious to the other parts of the body, such as it does affect the pelvic bones, lungs, liver, and the lower vertebrae (Zenka, 2009).
Testicular cancer is only present in males because only males have testicles. About 8,820 cases of testicular cancer are diagnosed every year. About 380 men die from testicular cancer each year. This is actually a very high survival rate. Also, the risk of a man dying from testicular cancer is about 1 in 5,000 because it is highly treatable and sometimes can be curable. It seems that the group most affected by testicular cancer is middle aged men, the average age to be diagnosed is 33. Only 6% of testicular cancer cases occur in children and teens, and about 7% of testicular cancer cases are men above 55 years old. All in all, testicular cancer is a type of cancer only in males and starts off in the testicles. It is not that common and the survival rate is very high because of the technology and doctors of today.

First of all, I liked how you brought what you learned Freshman Seminar last semester and connected it with Hallenberg article. Men that are placed on high pedistal have taken their power to a point of disgust and fear. Also, the King can be seen as the quarterback on a football team. Even though Nilsson was a nobleman who is supposed to exert compassion towards commoners and find ways to improve the state and the people. In my eyes, Nilsson was just causing a catastrophy however he was following the hegemonic practice by being a dominate figure toward peasants and women.
The male reproductive system is a set of organs that works together to produce sperm which will later in life fertilize females eggs. The testes are the most important part of the system because it produces sperm cells. It is similar and looks similar to ovaries of a female’s reproductive system because it also holds what they need to reproduce. Its job is to produce the sperm cells needed to reproduce. Due to hormonal imbalances the production of sperm cells may not even be possible in some males. Testosterone is the male the hormone that gives men there manly characteristics. It is made up of hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen with a white color. In the male body it helps develop sex organs, a deeper voice, and facial hair (Khalid, 2013). Cancer or a genetic disorder in males is the most common thing that cause the reductions of testosterone production in the body. Behind the testes is the epididymis which lets sperm go through the vas deferens from the testes (Dictionary, 2014). It looks like leach the way it is position right on the testes but it is thinner. When sperm is produces the ...
Doubling over with pain during your period? Sometimes, it's way more than just a serious case of cramps. For approximately 176 million women globally, it's endometriosis, a painful disease in which tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of the uterus. And unfortunately, endometriosis is one of the leading causes of infertility and one of the more difficult ones to treat, says Shahin Ghadir, M.D., reproductive endocrinologist at Southern California Reproductive Center.
