Software is designed to control what content may or may not be viewed by a reader, especially when used to restrict material delivered over the Internet via the Web, e-mail, or other means. Restrictions can be used in the software which monitors what people are doing on their computers for example in a school making sure children don’t go on inappropriate websites.
The advantages of IT support using control software are that they are able to have an idea about the different website students are on and can notify the teachers. Another advantage is that it easier to send files to people instead of sending them individually. It can be used remotely to take control of computers and help people solve problems. In order for students to be on task and not doing something else which can cause distraction, the school block certain websites, application and devices from the network. It also protects the students online from view unsuitable contents, images and cyber bullying.
The disadvantage of using software control on students is that they have no privacy as some student might not like to be monitored as they feel paranoid. Another disadvantage of using software control is that once the teachers have taken control of student’s computers they cannot do anything to control their computer. The problem students might face is that they might think that there are being watched the whole time which can pressure into knowing that there every move on the computer is being monitored which can affect their work with mistakes. Or they might feel less confident with their work. Also students lose valuable time when teachers take control of their computer system or network as the teacher could take control of the student’s computer system or network...

My opinion of control software I think it will help students to be on task and not be distracted. There are many benefits to using these in which you can collect files from each student into one folder and the user can monitor them to check if they are doing the right thing .
David Gelernter author of the essay, “Unplugged: The Myth of Computers in the Classroom,” used some rhetorical appeals but not many in his essay, whilst trying to logically persuade his audience that computers could be utilized in the classroom, but under certain stipulations. Gelernter has great credibility for speaking on education and technology, as he is a professor of computer science at Yale University, so he more than anyone should know the outcomes of using a computer as a tool while teaching. However, when it comes to technology a lot of older generations usually are pretty biased when discussing technologies advancements, Gelernter still had some very good points! Using computers while teaching our young children can be useful but with strict moderations; when, where, and why, because if not heavily monitored, computers could be extremely detrimental to the learning experience and processes for many students.
It’s suggested that schools disciplinary policies can be compared to Foucault’s model termed “panopticism”, where the school’s (principal’s) power convinces people to act appropriately because they are being watched and judged. This is clearly evident when you consider the use of technology in my classroom, school and district. My students and I know that we are both being watched, and monitored. In my classroom I have the ability to watch students screens, block program or web access, and adjust some hardware settings like turning off sound. The real power behind the system is not management of student behavior, but in some circumstances it does come in handy. The real power is to have another instructional strategy to help students learn harder concepts. My ability to project my screen on theirs, either completely or in a window allows me to make sure all students can see what is happening. It also can help them as I walk through instruction, by allowing for my tasks to be projected and they can emulate what I do without looking up and back where the possibility of them losing their place is inevitable.
Students are not entitled to solutions to every problem that may come about as a result of their choosing to use technology; if a student chooses to use technology than it is their responsibility to solve those problems for themselves.For example, just because a teacher allows computers in class, it does not mean that the teacher must also supply a way for the students to charge their computers if the situation may arise that one needs to charge her computer; this is the student’s responsibility and she must solve the problem on her own. Computers do offer easily accessible distractions during class if they are used for note taking, however if a student chooses to be distracted by their computer and use it for the purpose of entertainment instead of notes taking then it will show when it comes test time and they don’t have the notes to study. Students that are easily distracted by what is happening in front of them and would be distracted if another student were to use a computer in class can simply choose not to sit behind a student that uses technology to take

I am currently employed as a Software Engineering Senior Analyst at Accenture. Technology is the way which extends humans ability. It is very difficult to obtain a precise definition of technology. It is generally accepted that "technology" is more than just a collection of physical products of science. "Technology" is the link between society and its tools.
In less than a decade, computer use progressed from programming classes for a few of the better students, to literacy classes for all students, to the integration of computers and technology into the curriculum. Now, there is a goal for educators to use technology as a tool in efforts to teach more effectively by using a variety of strategies to meet different needs in a diverse classroom. This will take training and commitment to keep up in an area that changes quickly, but the benefits to teachers and students are greater that the effort it will take to stay informed; computers increase productivity of students and make learning a fun experience. Technology can help students become more involved in their own learning process, which is not seen in the traditional classroom. It allows them to master basic skills at their own rate rather than being left behind. Teachers and students alike can connect to real life situations by using technology in the classroom; this can also help to prepare students for real world situations. Technology can be used to motivate students as well as to offer more challenging opportunities. It can also be used as a visualization tool to keep students interested in the subject that is being taught. When technology is used effectively, students have the opportunity to develop skills that they may not get without the use of technology (Cleaver, 2011). Assessing and monitoring students is easier on the teacher because of the ability to use technology in the classroom. When technology is used correctly it offers limitless resources to a classroom atmosphere.
The first thing I looked at was how teachers were being affected by computers. "Integrating technology into your teaching can change the way you deliver content to your classes.[1]" Not only are teachers affected by having to do grades and attendance by computers now but, they also have to worry about teaching their students about computers and integrating it into the daily lesson plans. By doing attendance on computers it saves a lot of time and confusion for schools. No one has to go around and pick up attendance and it does not have to be recorded anymore. Just one easy, quick step and it is all taken care of. In my opinion although computers can be very helpful it might take a while and some long hours for a teacher to switch over from running a classroom one way to using computers in their daily lesson plans.
Technologies like computers or iPads (or anything with internet access for that matter) in the classroom could possibly distract students from their work. Classroom administrators seem to forget that the majority of students really don’t want to be in the classroom.. I remember when I was in highschool, whenever a teacher would bring students into a computer lab, or bring class sets of computers, or bring iPads into the classroom for a lesson a large portion would go onto twitter, or onto any unblocked flash game website whenever the teacher was not looking, try to access anything for them to “escape” the classroom. When there are a large majority of children and/or teens that do not want to go to school, and are given tools to be rebellious so easily, what is going to stop them? Aside, who really wants to sit through the same autonomous paper typing over and over again...

I did not know before using the Technopedia site that there were so many different types of student response systems. I always just imagined the basic student response system with four A, B, C, and D buttons. However, the fact that you can have student response systems that allow for elaboration to open-response questions make this technological tool even more useful and effective. With so much pressure on standardized testing, this tool allows teachers to question and rank the knowledge of each individual student. Furthermore, because of the abilities of current Smartphones, the expensiveness of student response systems goes out the window in a classroom that allows cell phone use. I truly believe that both of these technologies can truly change and positively effect education.
Technology has changed modern society drastically, both positively and negatively. Technology has influenced every aspect of our life, making it simpler but not necessarily better. Albert Einstein was concerned about the advancement of technology. "I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction."1 Undoubtedly, what has changed the most are communication, the spread of information, and how business is practiced. Consequently, practically everyone knows how to use a computer, connect to the Internet, or use a smartphone. This is demonstrated by the way the Internet is used daily by millions of people to communicate, to sell, advertise, retrieve, and share information. Thanks to the Internet, information from anywhere in the world is at our fingertips. As a result, the advancement of technology has changed our life in many ways including; sharing of information, communication, business, education, social interaction, simplifying everyday tasks, replacing basic skills and jobs.
Computers have always been useful, but not until recently have computers become useful for children who are twelve and under. Of course these children enjoy playing games and talking to there friends on the computer but due to new innovations coming out everyday children can now do a lot more then just play and socialize. Computers have brought school to the home. When children come home from school it used to mean school was over but today if you have access to the internet school is know longer over but just beginning on the internet. The internet has special educational sites that children can visit and learn from. Besides that children actually can have contact with there personal teacher from school. A new invention called the “Mobile Author can be used by human instructors either from a computer or a mobile phone to create their own Intelligent Tutoring Systems and to distribute them to their students. Students can also use any computer or mobile phone to have access to theory and tests.” (Source 2, Journal) Homework, notes, review assignments can now be given over the internet by the child’s teacher from there school. “Instructors can monitor their students; progress and communicate with their students during the course.” (Source 2, Journal) Children can learn new information on the internet and they are able to review and get extra help on things they don’t understand. If a child realizes that they do not understand something when they get home, they know longer have to wait to go in to school for extra help, but they now can communicate with there teacher online or they can go to an internet tutoring system which will give them just as much help as being in a regular classroom.
