Pepsico and Coca Cola being two giants in the world beverage market, the two organizations have a major role in social responsibility. This involves legal approach, Market approach, Stakeholder approach, Workplace condition and Environmental approach. Both organizations are obliged to act socially responsible and have taken it very seriously. This has not only benefited the stakeholders and the public, but also has contributed immensely on the growth of reputation and stability of the two organizations in the world market.
Social responsibility in Coca Cola
Coke regards Social responsibility as a higher priority in their organization. Most important responsibilities Coke states are, improving the organization’s social, environmental, and economical performance, full filling the expectations of their stakeholders continuously. Most of all, increasing the company's performance while ensuring the sustainability and operational success of the company. This is achieved through the guidance of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Approach of Coca Cola.
The CSR is divided into 4 main areas where the organization focuses on. They are Workplace, Environment, Market place and Community.
Workplace
The organization encourage the employees to improve and promote their personal abilities. Coke consists of employees from all religions, cultures, sexes and races, and treats all employees according to their performances, job description along with providing evenly handed opportunities and working conditions.

Pepsi takes Social Responsibility very seriously. According to Pepsi “Every large company has a strong responsibility towards the countries where it conducts business and an important role to play in the market and in society as well”. Pepsi states it’s primary goal is to prove that Pepsi is a trustworthy stakeholder, reliable and acting with integrity and caring for the local community.

Coke continuously out-stands Pepsi, even though they share a very similar taste and colour, however Coke should not be the drink that receives all the love and attention for what it offers.
