When Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election, people across the world knew that something must had gone wrong with the election give him his win. The hacking of the Democratic National Committee to release emails that “included damaging revelations about the Democratic Party and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the party's nominee” (CNN) almost certainly made an impact on the outcome of the election. However, Trump might not have needed the hack to win after all. As an advocate against political correctness, Trump dedicated a large amount of his campaign toward blasting a negative view on political correctness, believing him and the rest of the country “don’t frankly have time for total political correctness” (The Guardian). …show more content…
In fact, he already has accomplished a surprisingly high amount of tasks in his first one hundred days in office, such as the repealing of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. Though he’s not accomplishing this task as fast as he was hoping, Trump shows his people he listens to their opinions, as statistics show over 50% of people are unsatisfied with how Obamacare implemented itself (Kaiser Family Foundation), while also staying true to one of his main campaign ideals. Trump builds trust in the public’s eyes: the key to success as …show more content…
As an entrepreneur, Trump’s experience in accomplishing tasks quickly and selecting responsible people to accomplish these tasks ensures that if he says he wants to accomplish something, he has the ability to do so efficiently. But that’s just scratching the surface. Being an entrepreneur guarantees Trump knows a thing or two about saving money. This could transfer over into government spending plans, lowering the national debt. Trump’s ties to entrepreneurship also taught him methods for establishing and maintaining foreign ties, which could easily transfer over to politics. In this age of near-nuclear war and the threat of war against ISIS, maintaining peace with other nations shows Trump cares about the safety of his people. The peace also opens up trade between nations, which establishes trust between
First of all, Donald Trump is a businessman-not a politician. He received his degree in Economics/Real Estate from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance. In 2007, Forbes Magazine reported his annual earnings in entertainment alone to be $32 million. This would have meant a significant pay cut, had he become United States President. Currently, he is the producer and star of “The Apprentice,” which has been on air since 2004 (“The Apprentice”). He holds multiple offices at the Trump Organization, and is also a chairman of Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, Incorporated (Project Vote Smart). Donald Trump has put his name on products and companies both successful and unsuccessful, including food products, corporations, and a clothing line. Trump once stated that “The stuff that’s been sent over from China falls apart after a year and a half. It’s crap.” Ironically, the majority of his products are manufactured in China (Webley, 8). How can we expect a man to keep in touch with an entire country when he can hardly keep in touch with his own business? Donald Trump has had some other losses in business as well, including a failed airline business and multiple bankruptcies in his casinos, among other lost investments. (Webley, 3).
Donald Trump is a highly successful business titan, real estate mogul, reality television personality, and now a 2016 presidential candidate. Since announcing his candidacy this past June, he has been very loquacious on his views pertaining to foreign policy. He takes a very realist approach when addressing these issues. His views are very much in line with the belief that the international political arena is not dominated by altruistic ideologies, but rather nation-states that are self-interested. His foreign policy platform centers on using hard power to achieve America’s goals in the Middle East and to eradicate illegal immigration.
“The beauty of me is that I am very rich” according to Donald Trump. His ignorance has lead him to do things that he shouldn’t being doing or has done. In the past few months he has been racist man that would insult people that are from a different race. When Trump started running for president he would insult and bully everybody in general not knowing the people’s stories. He made people seem like they are poor and have nothing to live for, Trump’s inability to see past his greed. He wants to separate the United States and wants people to think he is the best of the best; Trump should not be President.
Donald Trump can be appreciated for his cunning business savvy and an ability to at various times throughout his career, make it big. By co-creating this reality show with Mark Burnett, not only has he capitalized on the public's desire to fantasize about (and for a precious few, compete for) achieving a high-profile, financially lucrative career as a business mogul, he has also brought to the mainstream audience a heated, emotional and stimulating debate about something that we all seem to have an opinion on: what it takes to be a great leader.
Trump built an Empire and will run America like a business. Trump is an experienced and tough dealmaker. Trump has led large organizations before. Not too many people look beyond his bankruptcies and the fact that he inherited large sums. However, he leads an enormous, diversified organization that is worth billions of dollars. This takes loads of Leadership, which is very different from knowledge. Leading a large organization makes you set vision, goals and expect results. You do not know the little details of every level of your organization just like the president does not know. (You mentally couldn’t know all that) That is why you delegate and empower and get information when it is needed and the president will have no shortage of people ready to educate him on issues. Trump is a negotiator. One of his most under discussed attributes, but yet one of his greatest assets. Trump’s spent his entire life and career making and negotiating deals. In his own words, he negotiates to win.
Examining Trump’s rhetoric and past actions, it becomes clear that Trump’s ability to be the leader of America, especially in today’s already heated world climate, becomes questionable. When even the members of his own party refuse to endorse him and claim that he is not qualified to run a country, the general public needs to sit back and question his integrity. In Trump’s past, he has proven to be an insensitive, racist, greedy business man. Why would he prove to be any different once elected to office?
I always remember what my grandmother said to me, “Be careful what you say, what words you use because they can destroy or give hope. Once they are said never could be deleted it from people’s hearts.” That day I learned that words are powerful. According to the article “Free Speech: Westboro Church Supreme Court Case First Amendment” in Christian Science Monitor, author Warren Richey discusses about The First Amendment to define what is offensive and it shows historical facts where the Supreme Court is using the First Amendment to resolve the cases about offensive speech. Also, the author describes people in favor and against of offensive speech. The author concluded that offensive speech should not be banned because free speech is the free
As a result of extreme hard work and perseverance followed by an unmatchable drive to succeed, Donald J. Trump has earned the right to be known as a multi-billionaire, real estate icon, and President of the United States of America. Reflecting on his life, he has faced many challenges and overcame them all. To understand how he rose to success and his journey to the top of the kingpin, it is important to recognize how he saw the American dream and pursued it. Today, many recognize him as the president, but very few can fully grasp all that he has done in his life. From his start as a real estate mogul, to his impact on the media, there are many questions as to how he became so recognizable today.
The decision for success, for Trump, is work hard and be determined and you can achieve your goals. He has shown this hard working mentality as he was a businessman. He acquired many profitable properties and made smart decisions to eventually gain over a billion dollars. He also showed this determination as he was running for president. Although he was called an "unfit" president he still campaigned and won over the votes of many citizens. In the end, Trump won and his determination to succeed brought him to the White House. All people can learn from Trump because of his hard work and
Despite the fact that people in today’s society view diversity as a beneficial factor, many in the colonial period despised the immigrants. Because many Irish came to the state in penury, they faced discrimination, resentment and suspicion (New York City 26). Many non-Irish thought of the Irish as brutal and cruel cowards. Contrastingly, many German immigrants were not hated as much because they came to the state wealthier and had more Protestant backgrounds. One specific encounter of intolerance was when a non-Irish male stated, “This Celtic beast with many heads is driven back to his hole for the present” referring to the Irish as the Celtic beasts (Jackson and Dunbar 204). Another example of intolerance is the tragic event in 1643 when Puritan
The “Politically Correct” movement’s purpose is to bring historically condescending terms, offensive music and art, and controversial educational content to an end and replace them with more positive and less-offending references. Offensive and demoralizing efforts are wrong, but the censorship and deletion of words and phrases that do not contain the intention to demoralize are taking political correctness too far. Politically correct (or “PC”) antics have created a social decline that is growing worse with each generation, specifically regarding areas of art, education, language, and our right to freedom of speech; the degradation they have brought to the American psyche has even led to name-changing.
Censorship is detrimental to society. People can’t learn from their mistakes if we hide them. People can’t decide the best option if we say there are no options. People can’t understand each other if they don’t know what anyone is thinking. People can’t mature when they are “protected” from mean words. People can’t be themselves when they are being censored.
for it to be construed as offensive. I would hope that a person in this
2016 Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton have exuberantly managed to provide us with perhaps the most unorthodox mockery of a presidential election ever seen in modern day history. Why? Because this was an election based virtually on circumstance.
In the world today, racism and discrimination is one of the major issues being faced with. Racism has existed throughout the world for centuries and has been the primary reasons for wars, conflicts, and other human calamities all over the planet. It has been a part of America since the European colonization of North America beginning in the 17th century. Many people are not aware of how much racism still exist in our schools, workforces, and anywhere else that social lives are occurring. It started from slavery in America to caste partiality in India, down to the Holocaust in Europe during World War II.
