Types of parenting varies from culture to culture, in most cases culture is passed down from the parent to the children. A person without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree with out roots (Marcus garvey). A lot of people from different counties relocate to the united states hoping for a better life, recieve a better schooling for their family, and have a better shot of succeeding. Immigrants who come to different nations are influenced by cultures and traditions which allow people to learn a different way of life. Most parents have high beliefs for themselves and their family. Some measure schooling for their family members and want them to have good reliable jobs. In many cases the parents may only have a high school level diploma, still they set goals and guidline for the best way for their family to succeed. All parents want there kid to have the best chance of success.

Many migrators move to the united states for a many reasons, yet many parents move for a improved lifestyle and to give their children with the best chance. Then again, a lot of immagrants face many diffulculties after moving to the united states. One issue would be communication barriers and the need of education sometimes forces a family to live in poorness after moving to united states. Some immigrants may not speak English which constrains them from finding decent work or locating housing to support their families. Parents that lack education makes it difficult for them to find a comfortable salary to provide the families with their basic needs of life in the country.

Immigrant families children’s social skills can be affected when relocating to a new location. Young children may lack social skills after relocating to a new a country because of the language barrier. The language barriers can hinder children from building relationships with their peers because of their different language. Regardless of immigrant family’s financial status, parents have high expectations for their children; they want their children to obtain the necessary tools to excel in North America. Immigrant families face many challenges, however with support from educational staff and the community immigrants can help their families have a smooth transition in North America.
