The definition of a parent could be a mixed topic there are those who care put forth an enormous amount of effort into their child’s upbringing. Then there are those that have nothing to do with their child’s life or give them any reason as to why they did not stand it out. Being a parent holds so much power and value. They have the power to raise an individual from their infancy give them love, guidance, knowledge, and confidence to name a few. Value is what the parent gets in return as far as watching that individual grow into their own person. Being a parent is a full time responsibility. It requires sacrifice and dedication to produce a productive member of society, and to be a positive influence in your child’s life. You yourself need to be a positive role model that someone can look up to for guidance. The ideal parent is someone that is unselfish, and always putting their child’s needs before their own. In my personal life, I’ve displayed this countless times. The most notable and recent time I’ve done this is when I made the difficult decision to join the U.S. Navy; this decision was not easy. However, I knew that being part of an organization that is bigger than myself was a sacrifice that my daughter could be proud
What does it mean to be a good parent? The most common definition of a good parent is one who makes their children feel valued and loved, by teaching them the difference between right and wrong. At the end of the day, the most essential thing is to create a nurturing environment where your children feel like they can mature into confident, independent, and caring adults. Harper Lee’s novel To Kill A Mockingbird defines what a true parent really is thought hardships and struggles throughout the book. The story is set in the Depression era of a little town in southern Alabama that is struggling with thick prejudice on a colored rape case. The story is told through a character
What is good parenting? Many think good parenting consists of keeping a close eye on their child but this in many ways can be detrimental to the child. Personally, my mother was not present for most of my childhood. However, it in no way hindered my growth as a child, instead it brought me up and made me very independent at a young age. Similar to reality, literature depicts the complexity of the relationships between a mother and daughter as well. In I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, Maya’s mother abandons her as a young child and is an inconsistent presence in her life. In Emergence: Labeled Autistic by Temple Grandin, Temple’s mother is constantly devoted to her and gives her the best opportunities possible. While both Maya
A parent is worth more than what is stated in “How Much Do Parents Matter?” To a child, a parent is their entire world. A parent is there to support, raise and build up a child. They are there for protection and guidance. When you think of the word ‘Parent’ what comes to mind?
A parent is someone who is a provider, protector, and a role model for their children. The novel, To Kill a Mockingbird explores the society of the 1930’s in Maycomb, Alabama, where Atticus Finch is a lawyer and a single parent raising two children named Scout and Jem. Atticus leads by example through his work, and through his actions. He has a great impact on the character of his children, who grow up to be open-minded like him. In the article “Raising a Moral Child,” Adam Grant talks about the ways in which parents can teach their children to be honorable people. The methods that the author talk about are similar to the methods that Atticus uses to raise his children in To Kill a Mockingbird. Scientific studies have shown that nurturing children

Parental involvement in children’s lives comes in a variety of ways, and the idea of how involved parents should be may vary with different
There are many approaches to parenting and everyone has their own preferences as to what they think is best. In a fast paced rush around society, it is hard to know what the best choices are for your children. There is a struggle to balance what needs to be done with what can be done, and this has negative and positive feedback on the children. Parents play a critical role in shaping and guiding their children into functional confident adults. An effective parent will learn as they teach in order to grow into understanding with their children.
Successful parenting may be judged by many different standards. Raising a child to be a respectful, mature, and independent adult requires a great deal of effort. There are several parenting styles, and not all lead a child to reaching their full potential. Overpowering sternness leads may lead to a rebellious child, while passive parenting may lead children to inept for the challenges of adulthood. Parenting requires more than teaching children submissiveness, or building of self-importance. Children learn best from a role model who is admirable. Parenting is a great opportunity to set the course of one’s entire life in the right direction.
...actual outcome that the child will have in later years in life. Parents must be vigilant and cautious of their actions in front of children. Parents must maintain an active status in the child social and academic life, to be able to guide the child on the most correct manner as possible. No parent or teacher is perfect but as a parent of facilitator one must be open minded to negative development in any stage of life of a child.
Parenting is the practice of supporting and encouraging the physical, emotional, social and academic development of a child from birth to adult. Society says children should be raised in a two-parent family. Although, in most cases raising a child or children in a two-parent family is best, there are situations where children are better off living and being raised by one parent.
Every parent has different skills that they use when dealing with their child. Growing up I had two parents with completely different techniques on how to handle situations with me. Both of my parents love me unconditionally, and would give me the entire world if they could. For every parent, teaching lessons and earning respect is a very important aspect to them. Each of my parents love me so much, but both have very different ways of showing affection, discipline, and communication.
Children are the future of the world and need to be nurtured and educated in the best conditions. Thus, parenting is one of the most challenging and admirable responsibilities that people can experience. Parenting plays important roles in the development of children’s characteristics. Some people nurture children depending on their own ways. Others get advice from friends or books. Parenting can be divided into three groups: authoritative, permissive, and democratic parenting.
The relationship between parents and their children is one of the most basic human interactions. Mothers and daughters provide both physical and emotional care for their young sons and daughters. In the process, parents will instill children with family values and goals, while teaching them the accepted norms and values of society. This is done in hope that parents will one day see their own children become mature adults, with their own goals and purposes in life.
A parent-child relationship is a special relationship that has a huge effect on the way that the child will turn out. This relationship is formed through pregnancy, adoption, and step parenting. Parenting requires a great deal of adaptation. The parents want to develop a strong bond with their child but they also want to maintain a healthy marital relationship and adult friendships. Potential parents often ask themselves what they will be like when they are parents and try to recall some experiences when they were children.
Parenting carries love, moral values, life skills, knowledge, traditional and so on to their children all the time. Most of the children practice the moral values, knowledge, and tradition which taught by their parents. In this way, most of them follow and believe in their parents’ word. Basically, children world views and mind were deeply shaped by their parents. Most of the children exercise what their parents practice. Children learn to make sense of what is going on around them by interact with their parents and surroundings. Through the “eyes” of their parents, they learn to see, think, question and look for answer which can satisfy them. If children were raised in a good or positive way, there is a very great probability that our society would be better off. Hence, from my point of view, parenting should be a privilege for a better future not only for the children it own but also our society.
