Objectives: The first objective was for D’s mom to really gain an understanding of what D should be doing at home. Tara enforced this goal by establishing a parent report. When using the parent report Tara informed D’s mom of words that D should be able to sign while he’s at home. Examples of those words included “please,” “book,” and “eat.” D’s mom responded well to the suggestions. She liked the idea of her son having a form of communication instead of him just mumbling. After the parent report with D’s mom Tara outlined the therapy session. During this outline she informed D’s mom of what she needed to do in each activity. When using this method Tara included activities that involved MLU matching, balance/turn taking, and vocab review with signs. Five of the activities included gold fish, cars, bubbles, and eggs. During the goldfish activity Tara was testing D’s frustration level. She reinforced him with goldfish after he signed “eat.” D started to cry because he was receiving only one goldfish at a time. Eventually Tara and his mom gave him the whole bag of goldfish. In the next activity, Jessica and D’s mom said what they wanted through signing and speaking simultaneously (example: car please) and they waited for D to respond. D didn’t give Jessica and his mom the car right away but he did demonstrate joint attention between the car and the two of them. When he eventually signed car they used positive reinforcement by clapping and saying, “yay D.” After D signed car D’s mom asked if he wanted another toy, but he requested the car. D’s mom didn’t ask if he wanted the car, but she still gave it to him because he used spontaneous language. Positive reinforcement was demonstrated because he spoke spontaneously. The idea of adoption has been around far longer than the formal legal system of adoption in place today. In the bible, there is a passage detailing the adoption of Ester by her cousin, Mordecai, after the death of her parents. Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Romans, and Babylonians all had their own systems of adoption. Adoption systems differ from country to country. United States citizens who internationally adopt today allow for the blending of cultures, languages, traditions, and ideals. This essay addresses seeks to evaluates diverse parenting approach by a parent-child observation. From observing developmentally appropriate and inappropriate interactions with the parent and child, I will learn how parents teach, guide, and influence their children. First, I will briefly describe basic Information of the child and parent that I have observed. Next I will discuss the parent experience with transitioning to Parenthood. Throughout the essay, I will be discussing the parenting goals and beliefs, parenting challenges and reflecting on parenting from the parent perspectives. Lastly, I will discussing my observation from the parent and child interactions.
I did my parent-child observation at a restaurant in Batesville Indiana. I went to a small family owned place called Wagner’s. I did my observation over Thanksgiving break after my family cut our Christmas tree down. This occurred on Saturday November 28th around 6pm. This is a place that I am relatively familiar with. I have been going there with my family every year since I was a young child. It is a pretty small restaurant. While one side has a bar, the other side is more family oriented. It is a child friendly place that has a small area that toddlers and young kids can play. It has coloring books and small toys.
Every parent has different skills that they use when dealing with their child. Growing up I had two parents with completely different techniques on how to handle situations with me. Both of my parents love me unconditionally, and would give me the entire world if they could. For every parent, teaching lessons and earning respect is a very important aspect to them. Each of my parents love me so much, but both have very different ways of showing affection, discipline, and communication.
First, they were taught to hand a blank card to the communicative partner (Physical exchange, #1). Next, they selected a picture card from their PECS board, gave the card to a partner, and received reinforcement (Expand spontaneity, #2). In the third phase, the children chose a specific image among multiple (Picture discrimination, #3). Fourth, they learned to create sentences by selecting a sentence card, such as, “I want” alongside the image card of a desired item. The child then delivered both cards to the partner, who read the “I want” strip with a delay before stating the item.
Most people have pretty different parenting styles, but they all for the most part fall under a few main categories. There are those parents who are extremely overprotective and are always there to hold their children’s hands. Another type of parent is the “cool parent,” who is a little more lenient with their parenting style, but still has structure, rules, and consequences. One other type of parent is the one who doesn’t care or isn’t around, and will let their children do whatever they want, whenever they want, without any repercussions. The few main types of parents are the strict parents, the “cool parents,” and the neglectful parents.
A parent-teacher conference is a short meeting or conference between the parents and teachers of students to discuss children’s progress at school and find solutions to academic or behavioral problems. Just by the definition that was stated above, one would believe that more parents would schedule an appointment with the teacher to see how their children are doing. Most do not; some parents have very good reasons while others not so much. Parent-teacher conferences have many benefits, parents get the teachers opinion, it is a face to face conferences allowing for no miscommunication that might have happened otherwise. The conference goal is to find a plan to help the student.
In this paper I am going to critically discuss how parental involvement in children's education does make a positive difference to pupils' achievement. I will be using research in differing trustworthy media such as literature, journals and government documents to strengthen my discussion.

Looking back on when I was a child, I know now that I was very loved, and blessed to have the childhood I had (up until a certain point). The way that I was parented has certainly benefited, as well as negatively influenced my life. I would say that my parents were authoritarian, as well as permissive parents. In all honesty I would not trade my parents in for anything, although at times (like all children) they have gotten on my last nerve.
The kids future are depending on their parental love and how they are going to act or communicate with other people they are going to meet in life. Parental love is really important to kids because it will shape them into who they are in the future. It gives the kids the sense of love and how important it is to have someone we care for right next to us. There are kids that do not know who their parents are or they do not get their parental love even though they live with their parents. There are kids resented their parents because their parents do not give them enough attention, time and care for them. There are many benefits to teachings having a good relationship with the student’s family, guardian, or parents. Teachers should begin the school year with building positive relationships with the student’s families. In the book it mentions that there is ongoing research that indicates the benefits of family involvement in children’s education. Some of these benefits mentioned were children earning higher grades, tend to have better attendance, have higher rates of homework completion, and are more motivated and have positive attitudes towards school. Through the reading it also emphasizes on the increase in family involvement in children’s education will result in a decrease in students participating in substance abuse and violence. Students
